Utveckling av ett centraliserat informationssystem

<p>CML Data AB is a small IT-company that offers complete IT-solutions adjusted to the needs of the customers. It is hard for the employees to bring all necessary papers, files and software when visiting a customer. They also have difficulties planning their daily work and to keep track of each other, because of the lack of a shared calendar.</p><p>The purpose of this report is to answer the following questions:</p><p>- How do you develop a centralized information system for CML Data AB where it is possible for the employees to gain access to files, plan their days and where the customers can get access to relevant information?</p><p>- How do you develop an information system that is easy to manage?</p><p>- How do you make it easier for the employees at CML Data AB to update their homepage?</p><p>We discussed the problems and the future information system with the employees and were able to establish a set of needs and requirements which we then used as a foundation during the software development. We used user centered system design during the whole process and focused a lot on usability and interaction design.</p><p>The project resulted in a stylistically pure and user friendly portal. The portal can be used to access and upload files and plan the daily work. It can also be used for administration of the homepage and the portal users.</p> / <p>CML Data AB är ett teknikintensivt och renodlat IT-företag som skräddarsyr helhetslösningar anpassade efter kundens behov. CML Data AB kan sägas fungera som en extern IT-avdelning för företag. Mycket av arbetet sköts ute hos kunder och man får ofta åka ut på uppdrag med kort varsel. Det är då svårt att få med sig de nödvändiga filer, dokument och programvaror som krävs. Företaget saknar även en gemensam kalender där det dagliga arbetet kan planeras.</p><p>För att få en bättre inblick i företagets verksamhet och för att få fram de förändringsbehov som fanns gjordes en FA/SIMM-analys. Denna analys visade att CML Data AB var i behov av ett centraliserat informationssystem med möjlighet att ladda upp och hämta filer, samt en kalender för att underlätta planeringen av det dagliga arbetet.</p><p>Det kunde också konstateras att företagets hemsida behövde förnyas och göras lättare att uppdatera och förändra.</p><p>Examensarbetets frågeställningar fastställdes till följande:</p><p>- Hur utvecklar man ett centraliserat informationssystem åt CML Data AB där det går att planera sitt arbete, få åtkomst till filer och där kunder kan komma åt relevant information?</p><p>- Hur utvecklar man ett centraliserat informationssystem åt CML Data AB som är enkelt och smidigt att administrera?</p><p>- Hur gör man det lättare och mindre tidskrävande för de anställda på CML Data AB att uppdatera hemsidan?</p><p>Tillsammans med de anställda på företaget togs de krav och behov fram som fanns på informationssystemet. Utvecklingsarbetet skedde med stöd av användarcentrerad systemdesign och fokuserade mycket på användarvänlighet och interaktionsdesign. Innan programmeringen tog vid framställdes ett antal prototyper som de anställda fick ha synpunkter på. Ett par av dessa prototyper godkändes och låg som grund för det fortsatta utvecklingsarbetet.</p><p>En accessdatabas ligger till grunden för informationssystemet som utvecklats i Visual Studio .NET med hjälp av programmeringsspråket Visual Basic .NET och serverspråket ASP .NET.</p><p>Arbetet resulterade i en portal med ett stilrent och användarvänligt gränssnitt. Från portalen går det att hämta och ladda upp filer, det går även att planera arbetsveckan och få information om vart de anställda befinner sig genom den gemensamma kalendern. Portalen har även en enkel och lättnavigerad administrationsdel där det går att uppdatera, ta bort och förändra den information som finns i portalen. Från administrationsdelen kan man också uppdatera och förändra den nydesignade hemsidan. Genom ett enkelt WYSIWYG-gränssnitt kan man lätt uppdatera och lägga till bilder och texter på hemsidan. Det finns också funktioner för att lägga till helt nya sidor och för att lägga till nyheter på hemsidan.</p>

Net Migration Between Different Settlement Types In Turkey, 1985-90

In the past studies covering 1965-90, it is observed that net migration was from villages and district centers towards province centers. Although the net migration trend throughout the period was almost constant for the villages and the province centers, the role of the district centers changed in later periods. Previously, the district centers were transient settlements in terms of net migration with resultant almost zero net migration. However, in later years, they began to have net out-migration in significantly increasing numbers, because net in-migration from the villages decreased and net out-migration to the province centers increased. The increase in the net migration from district centers to province centers and the gradual loss of the importance of the district centers (towns) occurred not only in Turkey but also in the other developing countries, especially in 1990&amp / #8217 / s. The aim of this thesis is to study the net migration trends and patterns of the three different settlement types namely, province centers, district centers and villages of Turkey during 1985-90. In this study, the descriptive analyses which were carried out on the net migration rates of the provinces and three settlement types clearly indicate the regional disparities between west-east and south-north of Turkey. For all of the three settlement types, the provinces having the highest net in-migration rates are located along the Western and Southern coastal zones whereas the provinces having the largest net out-migration rates are located in the East, North East and South East regions.

Online student profile management system

Andresen / All the students who are enrolled in Computing and Information Sciences (CIS) major in Kansas State University are required to submit their Program of Study (POS) which they manually do by filling in all the necessary details and submit the form to the department. The main objective of this project is to develop an online submission of program of study. The online student profile management system is a web-based application that provides students of CIS major to submit their program of study in an easy and efficient manner. This application mainly allows the students to enter their personal information (viz., contact information, previous education) and to choose core as well as non-core courses of their choice. In addition the faculty of CIS department can also log on to the application and view the POS of the students by entering their wildcat ID. The primary focus is to get familiar with .NET framework and to code in C#.NET. This in turn uses MS SQL server 2005 as database for storing and retrieving of data. This project is implemented using C#.NET on Microsoft visual studio 2005.

I developed a catalyst which will accelerate the recruiting process which assures optimum time and cost utilization. Keeping track of all the applicants throughout the recruiting process is cumbersome. This catalyst for accelerating recruitment process is an interactive web application which helps multinational corporations and organizations to keep track of the recruiting steps for different position, reasons for creating a new position, history of all the potential applicants and the employer’s feedback along with email communication to all the people involved. Major emphasis of the web application ensures that none of the applicants in recruiting process are terminated unconditionally due to manual errors or miscommunication. Initially a position is created specifying the requirements and duties by a line manager or a branch manager. Initial applications are shortlisted by the recruiter and interviews are scheduled with panelists. This web application does not involve in the decision making, rather it provides a framework and sequence to follow and to tag an offer to a potential candidate. The web application follows 3- tier architecture and Asp.net is used is used to develop the web application. Asp.net web forms, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are used to provide rich front end, Vb.net classes provide the business logic, and Microsoft SQL server serves as the data layer. A part from the SMTP mail server is used to send mails to HR manager, line manager, panelists and candidates.

Andresen / Scoreboard tool is a web application developed to provide a platform where administrators can conduct quizzes (typically in an organization) or employees can take a quiz (individually or in a team). These quizzes are generally conducted to improve the knowledge of the users (typically employees) taking the quiz. This project is a tool where the user can take online quizzes which comprise of various categories like technology, science, math etc . The categories have various sub-categories. The admin can also perform CRUD on teams. The quizzes are created by the admin using a database which has the questions for the quizzes. The quizzes are basically divided into quizzes with multiple choice questions and timed quizzes where a user has a specified time to complete the quiz. Once a user logs in he can view his quiz history where he can view the scores of the various quizzes taken and also the time and date when taken. At the end of the quiz the user is given the option of rating the quiz and also entering his/her opinion of the quiz. The users will also have an option to view their scores graphically and compare their scores with other teams in the form of reports and also as graphs. The important feature of this application is that the scores will be reported using reporting services. And another important feature is instead of manually testing the application test cases will be written for automated testing.

The main objective of this application is to help the Real Estate Company to display unlimited number of property listings on the website. The primary focus is to get familiar to .NET framework and code with ASP.NET and C# .NET to provide a featured GUI which contains sophisticated search engine for buyer's to search for property listings specific to their needs. The search engine not only provides an easy and convenient way to search for listings but also display the entire list of properties in a customized grid format. The buyer can then view the complete specification of each property listing with its features, description and photographs. The application also provides a drag and drop control to save a list of selected property listings while browsing other options on the Real Estate Website. There are hundreds of Real Estate Websites on the World Wide Web but the intention of designing this application is to develop something new, innovative and efficient using latest technologies like AJAX, Java Script, etc which not only enhances the already existing search features available on the internet but also gets rid of their annoying and unessential features. The main emphasis lies in providing a user-friendly search engine for effectively showing the desired results on the GUI.

According to W̱SÁNEĆ oral history, the W̱SÁNEĆ people have lived on their territorial homelands back to the time of creation. The W̱SÁNEĆ way of life has been passed on to each succeeding generation through an educational way, centered in large part on the W̱SÁNEĆ Reef Net Fishery. This fishing practice formed the backbone of W̱SÁNEĆ culture and society. Despite being protected by the Douglas Treaty of 1852, over the next 163 years of colonization, the knowledge, ceremony, practice, and educational way of the SX̱OLE (Reef Net) was nearly lost. Using a framework for Indigenous Resurgence, this dissertātiō or path focuses on the revitalization and restoration of the SX̱OLE. This resurgent path described herein tells the story of how the “researcher” pulled together the disappearing knowledge of the SX̱OLE, reinvigorated cross border cooperation between the W̱SÁNEĆ and their Xwelemi relatives, and how after being named ȻWENÁLYEN, or the Reef Net Captain through ceremony was able to coordinate the community based creation and fishing of the first SX̱OLE on Canadian waters in 100 years. This resurgent path is just the beginning of a long and endless journey forward by looking backward, where the W̱SÁNEĆ people can be a proud people of the SX̱OLE once again. / Graduate

Community Social Capital and the Health Care Safety Net

This dissertation offers an empirical examination of the relationship between community social capital and health care safety net capacity. The ability and willingness of federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) and private physicians to serve the uninsured is crucial to ensuring that all Americans have access to a basic level of health care. Among other factors, this ability and willingness has been found to be a consequence of unique community values and traditions. This dissertation examined the extent to which the level of community social capital (community rates of participation in club meetings, projects, volunteer and civic activities) was related to three health care provider outcomes; 1) the willingness of private physicians to deliver uncompensated care; 2) the financial capacity of FQHCs to provide uncompensated care; and 3) the amount of FQHC resources directed toward the provision of largely uncompensated community-oriented services.Community and health care provider data on 1,248 FQHCs across 183 U.S. counties and 12,406 private physicians across 1,029 U.S. counties were collected from multiple data sources. Comprehensive multivariate analyses including Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA), Ordinary Least Square (OLS) and Hierarchical Linear Modeling (HLM), and a planned comparison was conducted on these data at the community ecological and individual provider levels of analysis.Based on a literature review and the theoretical components of social capital theory, I developed a conceptual framework that proposed a relationship among social context, institutional frameworks and organizational behavior. The dissertation research sought to determine the extent to which the social context in which the organization was embedded influenced organizational behavior.I found that the relationship between community social capital and health care safety net capacity was weak and the direction of the association mixed. Among the findings was a positive and significant relationship between civic participation and FQHC grant revenues. Unexpected findings included significant correlations between community social capital and Medicaid generosity, and social capital and uninsurance. Although the data analysis suggested that unmeasured factors were largely responsible for variation in safety net capacity, it raised interesting questions that provoke future study. Important implications for theory, policy and practice are discussed.
