O corpo grotesco como articulador da cena: Meyerhold, Hijikata e os corpos que dançam / he grotesque body as an articulator of the stage: Meyerhold, Hijikata and the bodies that dance

Mandell, Carolina Hamanaka 17 June 2009 (has links)
This research presents a reflection about the grotesque as an operator and a vital intercessor of the dramatic scene, aiming at a grotesque \'architecture\' in the images of the actor\'s body. The analysis is based in two poetic-esthetic experiences distinguished on time and in space, that appear to be examples concerning the discussion about the grotesque and the labor of the stage composition through the dance: the Butoh of Tatsumi Hijikata (1929-1986) and the theoretical and artistic production (particularly in the decade of 1910 and 1930) of the russian V. E. Meyerhold (1875-1940). The transposition of the remarked issues about the grotesque to the field of creation and scene construction, in both artistic approached experiences, had been guided by a central question: could dance be a sort of corporal architecture of the grotesque scenery, in other words, through the images of the dancing bodies, could we observe the grotesque operation on stage?

No. of bitstreams: 1 Daniel Melo Ribeiro.pdf: 33449169 bytes, checksum: 19f21561dac4e88dbda04fe8efbd4cfc (MD5) Previous issue date: 2018-09-24 / Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPq / This research deals with communicative and semiotic properties of maps. We investigate alternative mapping practices that encourage new ways of perceiving space, revealing features that are not treated by traditional maps. Considering this motivation, we raise the following question: Which aspects of space could be communicated on a map when the cartographic conventions are questioned? As a corpus, we selected four trends that challenge the cartographic language: map art, locative media, literary cartography, and deep mapping. The selected mapping examples are analyzed through the semiotics of Charles S. Peirce. After this analysis, the research focuses on a trend known as deep mapping, in order to investigate a methodological discussion about mapping places. We propose a model based on three steps: walking, archaeology, and montage. The development of these steps was inspired by the philosophy of Walter Benjamin. We consider that the critique of Modernity developed by Benjamin is linked to the interpretation of urban material culture, whose narrative potential is latent in archaeological fragments. Mapping these fragments begins with a walking exercise, goes through an archaeological reading, and is arranged in a montage procedure. Therefore, the main objective is to propose a model that stimulates the creation of cartographic representations addressing three general properties of deep mapping: the body experience with space (walking), the historical dimension (archaeology) and the critical reading (montage). Based on the arguments developed by Benjamin, we support the hypothesis that the alternative mapping approach underlines the threshold experiences. These experiences are related to the liminal spaces of transition and hybridism, a form of resistance against the cartographic dispositif / Esta tese trata de propriedades comunicacionais e semióticas dos mapas.

Rocha, Lucas Kirschke da January 2017 (has links)
This dissertation deals with the Animal Studies, an area that develops as a rich field of interdisciplinarity already in its origin.. But in order not to make an aprioristic judgement of a field in its particularities, it is necessary to clarify points in common to the theoreticians of the most diverse academic origins that compose the Animal Studies and to draw up plans for a significant future. After establishing the necessary dialogues between theory and social field, I proceed to the analysis of certain points of the works Disgrace and Elizabeth Costello, with the objective of highlighting the potential of this corpus for the development of the critique of the categories of humanity and animality according to the contributions of Posthumanism and inserting it in the field of Animal Studies. The fundamental theorist for this work is Jacques Derrida, mainly in his work O animal que logo sou. After presenting an overview of the Animal Studies, especially under the approach of Paul Waldau, I bring to the meeting the post-humanist Rosi Braidotti, whose work The post-human retreat the categories of becoming-earth and becoming-animal, which give consequence to the analysis of the literary corpus of this work. I also dialogue with the Mitleidsethik, the ethic of compassion of Schopenhauer. I conclude that the tasks of Animal Studies and Post-humanism are similar in relation to the greater understanding of the inter-species interactions, for the consequent proposition of new ways of living in a more-than-human world.

Fotografia, narrativa e grupo : lugares onde pôr o que vivemos / Photograph, narrative and group : places where we put what we lived

Volpe, Altivir João 30 November 2007 (has links)
The main objective of this work was the creation of a different group device and the conduction of interviews in which were used photographs and narratives aroused by them as intermediary formations that occur in a time/space between two. The conclusions suggest the coexistence in the subjects of a ambiguous relation between an ideal imaginary of stable and reassured relations, as in their childhood, and what is lived today by them, under the impact of the brutal changes that occurred in the last decades: insecurity and fragmentation in the social bonds and uncertainty in relation to the future. Some Walter Benjamin\'s intuitions are confirmed and René Kaës\' contributions are stressed in the group process studies. With the contribution from these authors, it is emphasized here the necessity of reinvent methodologies and different devices when dealing with intersubjective questions, in order to answer the social demands towards the suffering and the disruptive situations. It is always between the continuous risk of the references loss and the possibility of new reassured spaces constitution, that gets processed the human narrative intense construction, particularly in the contemporaneity.

Les revues de galeries en France dans l’entre-deux-guerres (1918-1940) / The French periodicals published by galleries in the interwar years (1918-1940)

Gauthier, Ambre 09 June 2015 (has links)
Art production in France is changed in the interwar years by the globalization of the art market, the vitality of the avant-gardes and the unprecedented diffusion of art periodicals. The art gallery, through the actions of socially and politically committed art dealers, is becoming a major place for the modern art market. Dedicated to the trade of artworks, it acquires a new identity by encouraging socialization and intellectual debates. This context creates new communication means for art galleries: the art gallery magazine. As a promotion tool, the main mission of the periodical is to spread news about exhibitions and artists related to the gallery. Sustained by the ideals of their editors, they offer an open platform, an utopian space of free speech and dialogue, where art theories and contemporary art market analysis, score settling and satirical tracts, literature and poetry meet. Beyond its promotional function, the art gallery magazine, as a sociological object, also establishes links between the various players of a social and cultural group. The main gallery magazines of the 20th Century (Les Arts à Paris, 1918-1935; le Bulletin de la vie artistique, 1919-1926; le Bulletin de la galerie B. Weill, 1923-1935; le Bulletin de l’Effort moderne, 1924-1927) invent lasting editorial references that will last throughout the 20th century. Operating in Paris, art gallery magazines fall within an international cultural context, as demonstrated by the presence of such magazines in the United States (291), Belgium (Le Centaure) or Germany (Der Querschnitt), all developing their own specificities.

Tessier, Evelyne 01 1900 (has links)
This Master’s thesis focuses on the artistic production of Montreal painter Léon Bellefleur between 1945 and 1950, analyzed in terms of primitivism. The works studied all show a style similar to children's art, as described by philosopher Georges-Henri Luquet in his book Le dessin enfantin. Children's drawing being considered "primitive art", just as tribal art, peasant art and the artistic productions of the mentally ill, an artist who is inspired by them also, consequently, relates to primitivism. Léon Bellefleur is not only dedicated to reproducing an aesthetic reminiscent of children's drawing in his work, he also tries to find, through his artistic production, the authenticity that characterizes childhood and activities that relate to it. He looks for different ways to achieve this authenticity, first by seeking proximity with the unconscious mind and the collective memory by experimenting with surrealism, "tribal" primitivism and the dream. The artist is also trying to reconnect with his childish mind by exploring the inclusion of play in art, both in its practice of “exquisite corpse” and by the use of games and toys as figurative themes. Through his experimentation with games and his association with childhood, Bellefleur distances himself from the adult world and thereby expresses his opposition to tradition.
