A RECONFIGURABLE SENSOR NETWORK FOR VEHICLE SYSTEM AND ITS RELIABILITY PREDICTION

Kim, Joonyun, Jung, Haeseung, Lee, Jae-Deuk, Kim, Bo-Gwan 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2005 Conference Proceedings / The Forty-First Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 24-27, 2005 / Riviera Hotel & Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / This paper suggests a reconfigurable sensor network (data bus) which is well suited for telemetry mission of rockets and launch vehicles. Reconfiguration of sensors’ channel information can be achieved without additional software and hardware. The proposed network consists of a central unit and multiple remote units with RS-485 data bus. Since those units need only an FPGA and a programmable ROM to be implemented, the network can provide minimum costs and high reliability. And this paper also presents reliability prediction result of a unit based on MIL-HDBK-217F and Monte Carlo simulation.

RS-485 BASED MEASUREMENT SYSTEM WITH SCPI COMMAND SET CONTROLLED BY HP-VEE APPLICATION

Zareba, Grzegorz 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 22-25, 2001 / Riviera Hotel and Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / This article presents a measurement system based on the RS-485 interface. The presented system is an alternative solution for distributed measurement systems, which cannot be built using IEEE-488 interface due to distance limitation between elements of the system. The RS-485 interface is a base for communication between measurement instruments and uses a Master-Slave protocol to exchange data between them. One dedicated master device, usually a PC, controls all slave devices connected to the interface. To control measurement devices SCPI language is used. This solution simplifies communication between measurement devices and allows utilizing the HP-VEE environment to control any SCPI devices connected to the RS-485 network.

Rhetoric More Geometrico in Proclus' Elements of Theology and Boethius' De Hebdomadibus

Bovell, Carlos R. 11 1900 (has links)
My thesis inquires into the reasons behind Proclus' and Boethius' adaptation of discussion more geometrico in their metaphysical works, Elements of Theology and De Hebdomadibus, respectively. My argument is that each philosopher is engaged in a spiritual exercise to the effect that each sought, in his own way, to predispose readers to the anagogical acceptance of profound matters of faith.

Data communication and power supply on a two conductor system

Andersson, Tobias, Toft, Jonathan January 2018 (has links)
This master thesis aimed to develop a prototype of a hardware platform which allowed digital communication as well as DC power to be transmitted over one pair of wires. The prototype was used as a pre-study for Axis Communications AB that wanted a bit rate high enough to transmit digital audio, as well as enough power to supply a set of speakers. The prototype included one circuit to send power and data (master), as well as two receivers (slaves). With this configuration data rates of up to 17 Mbps were achieved as well as an output power of 90 W from master. The data was transmitted on a RS-485 bus type, which was AC coupled to a 48 V DC bias. Because of the AC coupling, the bit stream needed to alternate, therefore Manchester encoded data, or similar, was recommended. The receiver cards included a buck converter to supply the circuits with a stable 5 V DC. The converters needed at least 10 V supply voltage to function, which gave a theoretical max range in cabling when accounting for voltage drop in the cables. For a 0.75 mm² power cord at max allowed current, this range was 500 metres per wire.

The objective of this thesis is to investigate the relationship between mathematics and philosophy in three Plato‟s work: the Meno, the Phaedo and the Republic. Searching with this to clarify, first, the influence of mathematics in the philosophy‟s development, and then, the effect of this one on the methodological development of that, especially with regard to the analytical or hypothetical method. The research is guided by the Proclus testimony in his Commentary On The First Book of Euclid’s Element, where the name of Plato is associated with the method. Hereupon, is checked the description of the methods of analysis and synthesis made by Pappus of Alexandria in his Mathematical Collection, from which is searched the precursor elements on the dialogues. The interpretation of the mathematical passages of the Platonic texts are based on testimonies and fragments of Hippocrates of Chios, Philolaus of Croton, and Archytas of Tarentum, thus elaborating a general picture of the mathematical sciences state of the art in the centuries V-VI BC. Its scope was to contextualize the main issues of the mathematics that have attracted the Plato‟s interest and that led him to avail himself of that science as a methodological and heuristic paradigm to be adapted to the philosophy. Featuring a didactic innovation surrounded by the imprecision of language problems, Plato reformulates the pre-Socratic doctrines combined to the mathematical thinking, whose developments are essential to Aristotelian organization and Euclidean formalization

Calderón Quiroz, Natalia January 2012 (has links)
