Hur har nya lagkrav påverkat noterade företags hållbarhetsredovisning? : En kvalitativ fallstudie gjord på företag noterade på Small Cap inom konfektions- och finansbranschen / How have new regulations about sustainability reports affected listed companies' accounting?

Vinberg, Carl, Appelberg, Ragnar January 2018 (has links)
Introduction: On December 1, 2016, Act (2016: 947) amending the Annual Accounts Act (1995: 1554) entered into force. The purpose is to make the sustainability report more transparent and comparable. Large Companies now have to establish a sustainability report under which sustainability issues such as human rights, the environment, social conditions and information about its personnel are reported. About 1600 companies are affected by the new law and will therefore be required to report on sustainability from the annual report relating to 2017. Purpose: This paper aims to investigate how new regulations for sustainability reporting have affected the sustainability reports for companies listed on Small Cap in the clothing and finance industry. Method: The study applies a deductive approach with inductive elements and conducts a qualitative content analysis. The study uses a longitudinal case study where the empirical data is collected from Odd Molly and Venue Retail Group from the clothing industry, as well as Midway and MedCap from the finance industry. The collection of data consists of annual reports from these companies between 2014-2017. Conclusion: The study shows that sustainability reporting for companies listed on Small Cap has been affected by Law (2016: 947) as amended in the Annual Accounts Act (1995: 1554). It finds that the four companies of the study have gone from a general to a more company-specific sustainability report. Furthermore, the study provides insights on the development of the clothing and finance industry's sustainability report expires between 2014-2017.

Influência das alterações imunes em gestantes infectadas pelo HIV-1 no perfil funcional das células T de neonatos não infectados / Impact of immune alterations in pregnant women infected with HIV-1 in the functional profile of T cells from uninfected newborns

The number of HIV-1-infected young women has been increasing since the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, mainly in developing countries, where the frequency of pregnancy among them is also elevated. The development of strategies for vertical transmission avoidance has enhanced the number of uninfected neonates born from infected mothers. The objective of the present study was to evaluate, in vivo and in vitro, the cytokine profile of uninfected neonates born from pregnant women infected with HIV-1.The results demonstrated high levels of proinflammatory cytokines related to Th17 phenotype associated with low IL-10 production, in plasma as well as in culture supernatants of activated T cells obtained from umbilical cord blood of neonates born from mothers infected with HIV -1 with plasma viral load (PVL) detectable.Interestingly, a similar pro-inflammatory cytokine profile was observed in peripheral blood samples from their respective mothers. On the other hand, high levels of IL-10 associated to reduced production of inflammatory cytokines were measured in blood and in the supernatants of activated T cells culturesfrom women that controlled the PVL, as well as their neonates.Regarding the phenotypic profile of pregnant women infected of HIV-1, the main T lymphocyte subset involved in producing IL-10 was CD4+Foxp3-. Interestingly, the in vitro HIV-1 replication was lower in cell cultures from pregnant patients, and it was related to the inhibitory effects of IL-10 on the production of TNF-α. Finally, ART-in utero-exposed neonates showed to be born with lower weight, and it was inversely correlated with maternal peripheral TNF-α level. In conclusion, the results suggest that pregnant women that are able to control the PVL, and the increment in the production of IL-10 may favor maternal Tr-1 cell expansion, which could help to reduce the risk of vertical transmission of HIV-1 by reducing the rate of viral replication. However, other results also presented here, although preliminary, have revealed adverse effects of viral replication, as well as the use of ART by pregnant women infected with HIV-1 in the development of functional T cells from uninfected newborns. These data may help to explain why some of these children have elevated risk of clinical morbidity and mortality due to a baseline state of pathological hypersensitivity.

Mapping the Altai in the Russian Geographical Imagination, 1650s-1900s

Kudachinova, Chechesh 22 November 2019 (has links)
This dissertation focuses on the production of imperial space with a particular emphasis on the role of power discourses concerning mineral resources. By relying on published materials, it aims to establish a new conceptual framework for the examining of cultural patterns and practices of imagining of space and mineral wealth. For that purpose, it introduces a concept of the ”Berg-Discourse” that expands our understanding of the Russian engagement with geographical space. It begins by exploring Russian exposure to the mountains and mineral resources of Siberia in terms of the spatial knowledge production. It then examines how Russian imperial strategies and aspirations were embedded in the making of the Altai, a vast mining territory in West Siberia that once formed a private domain of the Russian rulers. The dissertation argues that the making of the Altai was in many ways part of the same imperial impulse towards mineral exploitation. It explores the ways in which the Altai was imagined through its enormous mineral endowment; how the imagined place became real; and how this real place became imagined from various vantage points. As the study shows, the region acquired multiple mental representations, enjoying a near mythological presence across imperial culture. Finally, the dissertation concludes by showing how this landscape was incorporated into imperial and national myths in the course of production and consumption of spatial knowledge about the remote location.
