Srovnání platebních zajišťovacích instrumentů používaných v zahraničním obchodě / Comparison of hedging instruments in international trade

Štrossová, Šárka January 2013 (has links)
The thesis is divided into two parts -- theoretical and practical. In first part hedging instruments, namely the Letter of Credit, Documentary Collection, Bill of Exchange, Factoring, Forfaiting and Bank Guarantee are analyzed. The aim of analysis is to describe the basic characteristics of instruments and course of these instruments. Subsequently, the instruments are compared to each other on the basis of the advantages and disadvatages they bring to participants. The next part is devoted to an analysis of charges associated with the use of particular hedging instruments in selected banks and the comparison of instruments based on selected criteria. The specific use of the hedging instrument is shown in the case study.

The Effects of Self-evaluation and Response Restriction on Letter and Number Reversal in Young Children.

Strickland, Monica Kathleen 08 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a training package consisting of response restriction and the reinforcement of self-evaluation on letter reversal errors. Participants were 3 typically developing boys between the age of 5 and 7. The results indicated that the training package was successful in correcting reversals in the absence of a model during training and on application tests. These improvements maintained during subsequent follow-up sessions and generalized across trainers. Fading was not always necessary in correcting reversals, but was effective in correcting reversals that persisted during the overlay training procedures. The advantages to implementing a systematic intervention for reducing letter reversal errors in the classroom, as well as directions for future research, are discussed.

The presentation of requirements of profitability, social responsibility and their articulation in the CEO letters : carrefour case

Badran, Jana 10 January 2011 (has links)
The presentation of requirements of profitability, social responsibility and their articulation in the CEO letters: Carrefour group case. Our research aims to analyze how leaders -in the name of their company- present and articulate, in their speeches, the two major requirements of today's capitalism: On the one hand, the requirement of maximizing shareholder value -driven by institutional investors through a "financial capitalism"- to public companies and their leaders seem to win the French model of corporate governance. On the other hand, the requirement for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) -originated by the actors of civil society- is forcing companies and their leaders to be concerned about social and environmental dimensions. In this perspective, an empirical study was conducted on the messages of the Annual and Sustainability Reports of Carrefour Group over the period 1993-2007. It was possible to observe a progressive domination of the criteria of financial capitalism in the speeches of CEOs and strengthen the arguments of the concomitance of the emergence of the discourse of maximizing shareholder value and CSR and the poor articulation of two discourses

The development of early literacy skills among a group of urban Sepedi-speaking children

Schutte, Henriette 31 January 2006 (has links)
The study examined the typical development of early literacy in a group of typically developing preschool Sepedi first language children residing in Atteridgeville, by determining their performance on a protocol of early literacy tasks. The following aspects were included: written language awareness, narrative abilities, phonological awareness, letter name knowledge, grapheme-phoneme correspondence and literacy motivation. The performance of the participants on the various tasks was used to describe the early literacy development of the target population and to identify relevant risk criteria that may indicate delayed early literacy development in the target population. The performance of participants on these tasks differed from those of other participants in local and international studies, which underscores the necessity of culturally sensitive procedures for identifying delays in the early literacy development of children. The influence of factors such as the mother’s level of education, gender, participants’ level of engagement in literacy activities and participants' current academic performance on the development of early literacy skills were also investigated. Based on the results as well as other indications from the literature, possible risk factors for delayed early literacy development for this group are listed. / Dissertation (M (Communication Pathology))--University of Pretoria, 2007. / Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology / unrestricted

Svanberg, Eirin, Magdalena, Kydd January 2021 (has links)
ABSTRACT Background: Information, preparation, security and the opportunity to participate in contact with health care is a privilege according to law. For people with intellectual disabilities, ID, this is not fully meet and their experiences of health care visits are more often negative according to previous research. One of the first steps in contact with health care is the letter of invitation. Therefore, it is important to examine how persons with intellectual disabilities experience and take part in the letters of invitation they receive from the health service and how they wish that a summon should be designed to meet their needs and opportunity for Sense of Coherens, KASAM. Aim: To investigate how persons with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities perceive the calling and information given before meetings with the health service and how they would like it to work.                                                                                             Method: Qualitative exploratory study with deductive approach where data collection method consists of semi-structured interviews with subsequent content analysis. Results: Overall, the results of the study show that the experiences of receiving a call to the health service varied and that there were different needs and wishes. The study participants' described experiences pointed to shortcomings regarding perceived information prior to a health and medical visit. They had different wishes about the path and the design of the calling. Image support was, however, a recurring wish. Conclusion: Described experiences pointed out that information and preparation when persons with ID are called to a health and medical care visit, is an area that needs to be investigated and developed to a greater extent. Receiving invitations with image support seems to be a wish of some persons with ID. The results of the study, however, emphasize the importance of not generalizing the target group. The responsibility for ensuring that the notices contain sufficient information and are designed so that the recipient can perceive the content rests with the health service. To fulfill this responsibility with evidence, further studies in a larger format are required.

From Epistolary Form to Embedded Narratological Device: Embedded Epistles in Austen and Scott

Vincent, Tonja S. 01 June 2016 (has links)
The perception that the epistolary form was rejected by novelists during the Romantic Era has largely been accepted by scholars. However, in looking at the period's two most prominent authors, Walter Scott and Jane Austen, we see that the epistolary form remained vibrant long after its supposed demise. Throughout their careers, both Austen and Scott employed embedded letters as a tool to create authenticity. Both Austen and Scott use what I call "literary letters" to create a sense of realism in their novels that contributed to the rise of the novel. Scholars often claim that Austen eschewed the epistolary form with Lady Susan and solidified her rejection by revising both Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice from epistolary novels to third person narration. But a careful examination shows that Austen followed Richardson's tradition with Lady Susan, that Sense and Sensibility was not originally written in epistolary form, and that Austen retained sixteen critical letters in Pride and Prejudice. In fact, Darcy's five-page letter to Elizabeth signals Austen's continued reliance on the form as it completely changes the dynamics of the novel and transforms Elizabeth from a static protagonist to a dynamic heroine. Further indication that Austen found value in the form is seen in her later and often considered more mature novels, Emma and Persuasion, where she found innovate ways to turn the epistolary form into an embedded narratological device. The value of letters in Scott's novels is often overlooked. For instance in Heart of Midlothian, Jeanie Down's claim that letters cannot feel is often cited as an argument that oral testimony is more valuable than written, yet it is a letter that ultimately gets her an audience with the queen. In fact, in both Heart of Midlothian and Redgauntlet, Scott explains the legal implications of the written testimony, its preference over oral testimony, and its power in persuading both in and out of court. And in Guy Mannering, Scott relies on embedded letters to develop important plot points including the identity of the lost heir, create believable characters, and explore the conflict between Scottish traditions and law. And although Redgauntlet is often considered the moment Scott eschewed the epistolary form, the way he employs letters to create the illusion that his characters are authentic historical figures helps him explore notions of national identity.

Lokalizace metylačních míst transposonů / Localization of Methylation Sites in Transposons

Kmeť, Miroslav January 2015 (has links)
This master's thesis deals with the creation of a tool for the extraction of methylation level from transposon sequences. Transposons are DNA elements with ability to move or copy themselves and their activity is regulated by DNA methylation. Sequence methylation information is stored in the bisulfite data and their processing is done with parts of two existing tools in a combination with implemented modules. Created tool takes into consideration unique challenges brought in the methylation calling process by transposable elements and it's functionality is presented on a set of experiments with simulated and real data.
