Hyperaktivita / Hyperactivity

VELKOVÁ, Martina January 2010 (has links)
In my diploma thesis I deal with the issues of hyperactivity that has recently been a very current and discussed topic. In the theoretic part of my thesis, I specify the concept of hyperactivity and talk further about its symptoms and consequent effects. I, as well, pay close attention to the current possibilities of reeducation with a consequent focus on the programs supporting hyperactive children and their parents. The practical part of the diploma thesis consists of three parts: an interview with a pedagogue working with hyperactive children; a case report of a hyperactive child; questionnaire survey and its subsequent interpretation. The practical part of the diploma thesis focuses on the particular symptoms of hyperactivity at hyperactive children in the school environment and their consequent effects. It tries to find out the possibilities of the reeducation and remedy at the same time. In detail, it targets the help to hyperactive children and their parents offered by schools and consequently the ratio of utilization by the parents. At the very end of the practical part of the diploma thesis, I dedicate my work to an assessment of hypothesis defined by myself.

"Jag kallar det för att inte följa med in i hissen” : En undersökande uppsats om arbetet med ADHD/ADD i skolmiljö

Brattström Gärder, Erik, Amanj Ibrahim, Miran January 2018 (has links)

Karlsson, Albin January 2011 (has links)
Speedledger is a company that is working to automate electronic accounting for businesses, organizations and associations. In the current situation bank data is sent from the users internet bank to Speedledger via a virtual printer driver. The driver transforms the web page into a PDF and sends it to a server for interpretation. The problem is that PDF is not created for this sort of data transfer and makes the interpretation of data is very problematic. The goal of the thesis is to study whether there is a possibility to develop a browser add-on that can retrieve information on the customer's banking page and send it on to Speedledgers server for interpretation. My task was to implement a add-on for one of the three major browsers Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Microsoft Internet Explorer, and then study the possibility of implementing it to the other two by reading the documentation. What I concluded was that it is possible to implement for all the three browsers. However, the techniques will differ slightly when developing these add-ons.

Activation Rates of the ADD-Vantage Medication Delivery System in a Community Teaching Hospital

McLain, Michelle, Palese, Ian, Bergstrom, Eric, Wolk, Robert January 2013 (has links)
Class of 2013 Abstract / Specific Aims: The objective of this study was to describe the failure rate of activation of medications that employ the ADD-Vantage medication delivery system in one community hospital, Tucson Medical Center (TMC). Methods: A daily, hospital-wide summary was generated identifying all patients currently receiving ADD-Vantage medications using the TMC electronic medical record system, Epic. Data collection occurred on arbitrary days and times from July 2012 to March 2013. Direct observation of a failure or a success in activation occurred by entering a patient’s room after the ADD-Vantage medication was administered by the nurse. Important data collected included: medication, frequency of administration, nursing unit, time of administration, administering nurse, the shift during which the nurse was working and whether or not the medication was or was not properly activated. Main Results: All medications utilizing the ADD-Vantage medication delivery system at TMC were analyzed. The rate of failure across 347 total samples collected on various days and times was 6.92%. Night shift had a higher rate of failure at 11.43% versus 6.41% for day shift (χ2 = 1.23). The General Surgery and Cardiac units of the hospital had the highest rates of failure with 18.18% and 15.38% respectively. Zosyn was improperly activated with greatest frequency with 12 total failures. Conclusion: No statistically significant difference was found between the rates of activation failure for those samples collected during nursing day shift versus night shift. The overall rates of activation failure suggest a significant opportunity for nursing education to improve outcomes.

Vybrané výběrové statistické metody v programu SAS / Selected Sampling Methods in SAS Software

Voříšek, Jan January 2009 (has links)
In the present work we study methodology of different kinds of sample surveys and their design in SAS software. Creating of SAS Enterprise Guide Add-In was the fundamental creative part of this work. This Add-In enables to compute important statistics of sample surveys, without need of being familiar with SAS code. Add-In was created in MSFT Visual Studio 2003 in C # language using a tamplate for Add-Ins provided by SAS. This work contains a general description of the creation of an Add-In as well as the description of the created Add-In for handling the sample surveys and its usage.

Pravděpodobnostní rozdělení v programu SAS / Probability distributions in SAS

Rosypal, Martin January 2009 (has links)
The aim of this work is to elaborate the metodology of creation of custom add-ins for statistical application SAS Enterprise Guide and create one of these that would enable to simplify the calculation of quantiles, values of probability mass function (probability density function respectively) and cumulative distribution function and further based on user's specifications create an appropriate graph. In connection with content of this add-in, the presented work includes the recherche from background of twenty two probability distributions that are supported by SAS Enterprise Guide. Custom add-in is programmed in Visual Basic.NET language in development environment Visual Studio 2003, its source code and the codes of graphs, used in this work and the module itself, are due to their extent included in the attached CD. Theoretical part containing the recherche mentioned above is assessed in second and third chapter of this work, the methodology of creation of custom add-ins for SAS Enterprise Guide is described in fourth chapter and own add-in is introduced in chapter five.

The cost and value-add of using a financial advisor

Moosa, Abdallah 14 September 2021 (has links)
This study investigates the quantitative value of advice added by financial advisors in South Africa; where value is measured through return differentials between advised and non-advised investors. A sample of 3189 individual investors from a large South African investment manager was analysed over a period of approximately five years, from 4 August 2014 to 31 July 2019. The primary focus of this study is to determine whether financial advisors create value for investors relative to the cost of advice, by investigating if a significant difference exists between the net of advisor fee returns earned by advised and non-advised investors. It also examines investor trading behaviour and assesses if any significant correlations exist between the number of trades made and returns earned. Current South African literature has a limited consideration of the cost of advice when considering the overall value added by financial advisors and has been found to consider a limited range of investment funds and asset classes. This study examines a range of ten investment funds that cover a range of asset classes and examines investment performance both before and after advice fees. The data is also analysed to examine the trading behaviour differences with the correlation between trading and investment returns also examined. The results of this study show that overall, the returns generated by non-advised investors are not significantly different from the returns generated by advised investors before advisor fees are considered. When advisor fees are considered, the impact of advisor fees creates a significant difference in performance between advised and non-advised investors; leading to non-advised investors performing the same or better after fees are considered. The trading behaviour showed that advised investors made statistically significantly fewer trades than non-advised investors. The results did not show strong evidence of return differentials arising from the timing of trade decisions, for either advised or non-advised investors.

Integration Strategy for Standalone Compliant Interactive Systems for Add-on Electronics

Khan, Sherjeel M. 11 1900 (has links)
Physically compliant (flexible) electronics are scientifically intriguing, mechanically complex, technologically challenging with huge socio-economical potential. The flexible electronics market is expected to grow from USD 23.92 Billion in 2018 to USD 40.37 Billion by 2023. Until now the target applications for flexible electronics have been limited to displays, solar cells, and printed batteries. A fully flexible electronic system can open up a whole new era of novel applications. On the other hand, there has been a significant growth of IoT devices worldwide. In this Ph.D. research, expanding upon the horizon of applications for flexible electronics, I explore the integration of existing “things” into the IoT ecosystem. The overarching objective is to present low-cost solutions through the use of sustainable materials as active electronic materials and employ DIY integration strategies to build “Add on” standalone sensory systems, which can be attached to any existing things like a “decal”. The add-ons can be tagged on objects or living beings including humans. The objective of using DIY methods is benefited from the low cost readily available recyclable materials which allow anyone, with a little expertise, to create customized versions of add-on modules suited to their needs. The core of the system will have flexible silicon CMOS ICs for data management, instead of conventional rigid ICs. Today, when we think of improving the performance of anything, it has to be replaced by a much more costly and sophisticated new version. By using modular add-on modules, the functionality of most things can be enhanced further without the need of replacing it entirely. On one hand, I show a low-cost add-on module that adds “smart” capabilities to a normal prescription bottle while on the other hand a smart add-on module attached to a personal belonging helps protect it from theft. Finally, a paper-based acoustic sensor housed in Styrofoam packaging will be explored to perform chronic monitoring of respiratory disease while being attached non-invasively to the chest of a human. These modules can be potential lifesavers, while costing less than a few dollars, consequently becoming a critical utility for everyone.

The Relationship Between Religion and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Mason, Philip B 15 December 2012 (has links)
Research shows that religious people have higher levels of self-control. Scientists also hypothesize that individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are less likely to participate in religious services which require long periods of attention and self discipline. However, little research has investigated the potential relationship between ADHD and religious participation. Using the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (Add Health), this study finds (1) mothers’ prayer frequency is marginally related to children’s ADHD symptoms and diagnosis although other religious indicators are not significantly related, (2) childhood religious involvement and affiliation are not significantly related to ADHD symptoms and diagnosis, and (3) childhood ADHD is not significantly related to adult religious involvement and affiliation.
