Toepassing van gesinsterapie in gesinne met aangenome kinders / The application of family therapy in families with adopted childrenLourens, Johanna Alida Elizabeth 02 1900 (has links)
aannemingsituasie bemeester.
gesinsterapie as terapeutiese intervensie.
Families with adopted children find themselves in a situation with unique demands made
on them as a family as well as on an individual level as a parent or a child. They have to
master the universal family challenges as well as the challenges of the family with
adopted children. These families often find themselves in complex situations, which are difficult to handle
and thus need the necessary support. The reason for this study was therefore to
investigate the effect of family therapy in families with adopted children. The aim was to
find out how effective a family with adopted children could be helped to solve the
problems experienced with family therapy as therapeutic intervention.
A qualitative analysis was conducted and data was gathered primarily through
questionnaires, observation and interviewing. The results of the research led to the
conclusion that family therapy was indeed an effective therapeutic intervention as far as
families with adopted children were concerned. It provided the family to work together as
a team and created unity. All the family members' problems could also be addressed at
once instead of individually. / Psychology of Education / M. Ed. (Voorligting)

MANAGING ACROSS CULTURES哥欣亞, Cynthia Castillo Unknown Date (has links)
在目前全球化下, 文化差異使公司在國際環境下,需要國際化經理的全球策略,不同文化使各的消費者,員工,供應商都不同,所以只有知道文化差異,才能有成功機會 / With the onset of globalization, many companies operating in international environments have found it more and more necessary to incorporate management of cross cultures into their global entry strategies. Differences in approaches, values and expectations between customers, suppliers, employees and team members with different cultural backgrounds have led to many business failures. By understanding the impact of cross-cultural differences, owners and managers can increase the probability of their business success.
This thesis identifies cultural differences and similarities in the Taiwanese and Belizean societies and their influence on the leadership style adopted by Taiwanese managers in Belize. Greet Hofstede’s five cultural dimensions model was used in the analysis. Both primary and secondary data were utilized. In January 2004, ten (10) Taiwanese nationals managing Belizean employees were interviewed. Analysis of data collected indicated that despite the cultural similarities, there were still challenges faced by Taiwanese managers in managing their Belizean employees. Some of these challenges include: inadequate English communication skills on the part of the managers, lack of employee loyalty and job stability; and unskilled labor force resulting in low quality services and products.
Culture as defined by Hofstede’s cultural dimensions has some effect on the leadership style adapted by Taiwanese in Belize but not necessarily on the success or failure of their businesses. According to the findings, Belizean employees lack loyalty and stability. As a result, Taiwanese managers in Belize are less trustful of their employees hence they tend to adopt a micro-managing style. Success factors of Taiwanese doing business in Belize include: building relationships (guanxi), value of time and work orientation; and clear labor laws.

Utlandsadopterade i behov av särskilt stöd?Sirous, Robert January 2008 (has links)

The purpose of this study is to find whether there is any truth in the thesis that adopted children from abroad is in greater need of special support, in particular regarding factors that might inhibit the language development that may cause language problems.

To achieve knowledge for this study, the methods have been to seek and analyze literature that discusses theories about language development and language socialization. To understand if theory and reality is cohesive, two interviews was conducted with special teachers that have had experiences teaching adopted children, analyzes of the results contra literature has been somewhat important and necessary. To ensure the reliability the interviews was recorded on tape and later transcribed.

The results from literature studies indicates that adopted children are more likely to be in need of special support in school due to factors concerning, among other things, adaptation difficulties, language progress and identity. Overall, language progress is depended on children’s total progress that includes physical, emotional and psychological condition. The results of the interviews agree in many aspects and outline the importance of giving such adopted children correct and individual support.

The conclusions of this study is that adopted children from abroad can, in some cases, be in need of special support in school, but not necessarily just because they are adopted. Language socialization explains how a language is learned and used and in that sense, it’s very important to be aware of the responsibility you have as a teacher to overview large spread of individuals and their progress.
