Sapper, Stella Lisboa January 2015 (has links)
This work aims to propose a systematization of the transposition process of aesthetic and symbolic requirements of design in formal product attributes. To achieve the work, were investigated by means of literature the product development process, focusing on steps that include the transposition of project requirements in formal attributes of product. The creative process within design and the methods and techniques used for the stimulation of creative thinking. Lastly, the relationship between semiotics and design, with emphasis on issues related to the communicative function of the products. Based on the literature, criteria were established relating to aesthetic and symbolic requirements for the selection of the techniques that make up the transposition process. The structure was systematized through the organization of selected techniques and inserting of key aspects to meet the aesthetic and symbolic design requirements. It was made a documentary research with four project reports of the discipline Packaging Design II of the course Undergraduate in Design at UFRGS. This documentary research aimed to identify the techniques used in the product development process (PDP) who assisted in establishing the design requirements. A report was selected as a reference and the aesthetic and symbolic requirements of the project were used for assessing the applicability of systematic structure. The author based on the information of the selected report conducted this check. After, the application of Delphi was made with five experts in two rounds of questions. Thus, it was possible to refine the systematic process and present it in an application structure. The study concludes with the systematic process proposition finalized, composed of five phases: Identify, Represent, Relate, Generate and Select. Each phase has its support techniques and guidelines of application. Each phase has its supporting technical and application guidelines to support the transposition of aesthetic and symbolic requirements of design in formal product attributes.

Signe/Symptôme/Fonction : les dispositifs esthétiques de l'avant-garde / Sign/Symptom/Function : the aesthetic devices of avant-garde

Durand, Emmanuel 10 October 2017 (has links)
As an artist, to choose what is commonly called “representation”, figuration and narration eventually leads to a misconception of the real stake to which he aspires. This means choosing to reproduce rather than creating. The aesthetic work of art does not precede its construction because its meaning tends toward indetermination caused by the lack of a predictable signification which is suspended, obstructed by the formal characteristic of the work of art. This posture is visible in the avant-garde project. It also explains why the aesthetic committed position and the avant-garde desire must be clearly defined. If they don’t suspend the content it is linked to the fact that they suggest the formal characteristics of the work of art, to question the principles which organize our representations. Hence, the work of art becomes at the same time a semantic, biographical and socio-fonctionnal device. It is qualified as aesthetic rather than just artistic because its ramifications and its stake go way beyond what we usually call “art” and reaches what we call “philosophy”. This survey stands in the context of the post-19th century paradigms. It intends to be a selective anthology of aesthetic devices. It exposes their main problematic : how to apprehend a piece of art which meaning escapes an established semantic system? Why and by which processes, the formal characteristics of a work of art can be endowed with the legitimacy of a relevant creation? What can these new practices teach us about our current conceptions of the world? In other words, what function does art serve today?

Ressonâncias do mal-estar contemporâneo: psicanálise, arte e política

No. of bitstreams: 1 Luiz Antonio Palma e Silva.pdf: 954966 bytes, checksum: 2b1002ac4184fc37cc93fe16c60be85d (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-11-11 / The mosaic of human frailty is revealed in Freud‟s Civilization and its discontents through the precarious and finite existence, the hardships and threats arising from Nature and the ambiguous relations with the other. Given this injunction, the Freudian subject, subsumed and insurgent in the cultural field, disturbed by the noise of the drives and the dark tones of the oppression of the reality principle, is endlessly confronted with the desire and the demands of external reality. The theme is developed from notions of psychoanalysis present in the work above in liaison and dialogue with the fields of social philosophy, questioned by two symbolic registers of human expression, politics and aesthetics. The main question lies in the bonds between civilization and culture that determine a complex and oppressive system of needs for the subject in order to glimpse the faces of the contemporary malaise. The central hypothesis is that despite the complexity that engenders unease and the wide adaptive force that impels it, its social configuration is not impervious to the dialectical telos of history and its properties: coercion and rebellion, subjugation and emancipation. From the hypothesis, two perspectivations arise: the possibilities of overcoming the self-reproduction of the politics that overweighs the reality principle, and the scope of the subversion of experience, a quality inherent in art and the aesthetic function, as an emancipatory path. The reflective and analytical course of this thesis was based on the clarity that subjectivation processes are not separated from their historical production; or in other words, it is the real historical process that constitutes the subject in the present state of things / O mosaico da fragilidade humana se revela na obra O Mal-estar da Civilização de Freud pela precária e finita existência, pelas agruras e ameaças advindas da natureza e a ambiguidade das relações com o outro.

Proti dualismu - konceptuální umění ve světle funkcionálně-normativní teorie / Against Dualism - Conceptual Art in the Context of Functional-Normative Theory

Brejcha, Michaela January 2019 (has links)
Title: Against Dualism - Conceptual Art in the Context of Functional-Normative Theory Author: Michaela Brejcha Department: Department of Aesthetics Supervisor: Mgr. Ondřej Dadejík, Ph.D. Abstract: The present dissertation thesis focuses on the problem of theoretical reflection of conceptual art in Anglo American aesthetic discourse in the second half of 20th and the beginning of 21st centuries. It is based on the claim of many conceptual artists and also some theoreticians, which emerged in the nineteen- fifties, that the conceptual art or tendencies have nothing in common with aesthetics or aesthetic theory. This work shows that this presumed discord draws on reduced understanding of what is the aesthetics and, at the same time, this understanding itself is based on the dualistic paradigm, which presents one of the most fundamental frames for our approach to reality. In the context of analysis of selected texts of Anglo American aesthetics, eight particular distinctions of dualism will be defined, which to a great extent contributed to the rejection of aesthetics by conceptual artists, and on the other hand to bad recognition of conceptual art by the aesthetic theory. As an alternative to the dualistic approach in the context of definition of conceptual art, the fluid and dynamic conception of aesthetics...
