Based on morphometric analysis of these sporulated oocysts, they were classified as Tyzzeria parvula (K?tlan, 1933) Klimes, 1963. This coccidium was described for the firt time in goose of Brazil at rural and urban areas from the State of Rio de Janeiro. The oocysts were sub-spherical to ellipsoidal, measuring 11.28 to 16.44 for 9.15 to 14.44μm, with double-layer and without micropile, polar granule and sporocysts. The residuum was observed around the sporozoites or forming a granular mass. Eigth sporozoites were presents with one of the extremities rounded, and other one narrows and lightly curved. The sensitivity test in Cairina moschata and Anas platyrhynchos was done, however T. parvula did not develop infection. Through the comparison of the sporulated oocysts from goose of the rural and urban areas of the state of the Rio de Janeiro, it could be concluded that influences of the breeding systems and continuous natural infection degree in the greylag goose (A. anser) were responsible for pleomorphism of the dimensions of the T. parvula sporulated oocysts found in the feces of domestic goose of Brazil. Anat as a precursor of Lady Wisdom in Proverbs 8:22–31

Kim, Sehee 29 January 2021 (has links)
This dissertation investigates the identity of Lady Wisdom, the enigmatic figure in Proverbs 8:22–31. The presupposition of this investigation is a widely shared expert interpretation, namely, that Lady Wisdom is a multifaceted female divine figure whose origin and characteristics are interwoven with those of a number of ancient Near Eastern goddesses. The main contribution of this project is to argue that the Ugaritic goddess Anat be considered a possible precursor of Lady Wisdom. According to the author, a fluid and complementary relationship exists between Lady Wisdom’s depiction in the Hebrew Bible and Anat’s depiction in ancient Near Eastern religions, especially since certain aspects of their origin, status, and function are similar. The project also sheds light on the pivotal role of Lady Wisdom as a co-creator and mediator of the heavens and the earth. She should be regarded as a co-creator who is an active and mobile participant in God’s creative work; she is found not only in Proverbs but also in other biblical and deuterocanonical traditions. Moreover, she is a perfect mediator not only between the creation traditions and wisdom literature but also between the divine and human realms. Her mysterious identity is manifested in her own words and in others’ descriptions of her. Humans can either accept or reject Lady Wisdom, but only those who recognize and appreciate her divine knowledge are able to embrace truth in their lives.

Fertility goddesses from the Ancient Near East

Roux, Wanda 03 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to illustrate the role of fertility goddesses in the lives and beliefs of the people of the Ancient Near East. Artefacts from the late Paleolithic period were crude female figures of pregnant women representing fertility. A mother goddess was specified as the giver and taker of life and vegetation. The polytheism of pre-exilic Israel that existed proves that not only Yahweh but also other gods existed. In the creation stories of the Ancient Near East, creation myths played a major role; in the Ugaritic myths the universe was ruled by powerful deities, and their presence could be felt in rain, vegetation and crops. Fertility cults were the force in their worship. Cultic sites associated with deities were often located in groves of trees, which made them sacred to the people. There was a close relationship between tree and tree figures, as well as gods and goddess images. / Biblical and Ancient Studies / M.A. (Biblical Archaeology)

Staroegyptské mytologické narativy. Strukturalistické interpretace Příběhu o dvou bratrech, Příběhu o princi, kterému byl předurčen osud, Astartina papyru, Usirovského cyklu a Anatina mýtu / Ancient Egyptian Mythological Narratives. Structural Interpretation of the Tale of Two Brothers, Tale of the Doomed Prince, the Astarte Papyrus, the Osirian Cycle and the Anat Myth

Pehal, Martin January 2015 (has links)
is study is composed of two units: manuscript of the author's publication Interpreting Ancient Egyptian Narratives: A Structural Analysis of the Tale of Two Brothers, the Anat Myth, the Osirian Cycle, and the Astarte Papyrus (Nouvelles études orientales, Bruxelles-Fernelmont: EME, 2014) and an additonal chapter entitled Accommodating Ambivalence: Case of the Doomed Prince and His Dog, which follows directly a er the Index of the first unit and which extends the applied methodology to yet another New Kingdom mythological narrative, the so-called Tale of the Doomed Prince. Methodologically, the author follows the neo-structuralist approach. Both studies explain the strong configurational character of ancient Egyptian (mythological) thought which has the ability to connect various ontological levels of human experience with the surrounding world into complex synchronic structures. ese symbolical systems are shown to be mediating between the various cultural paradoxes which were inherent to ancient Egyptian society. Axial role in this process is a ributed to the institution of positional kingship represented by the Pharaoh. Its transformative function is also put into relation to the special status of female characters who are shown to play the part of the "powerful powerless ones" further personifying...
