Title: Customer Satisfaction toward TrueMove Customer Service

Problem Statement: How are TrueMove customers satisfied with the customer service provided at TrueMove shops in Bangkok?

Purpose: To evaluate “whether” and “how” TrueMove customers are satisfied or dissatisfied with the customer service provided at TrueMove shops in the Bangkok region with the help of evaluation of service quality by customers of the shop.

Theory and Methods: The research bases mainly on quantitative method; that is questionnaire method. The Service Quality Gap which aims to measure the customer satisfaction by comparing their expectation and perception of service after experiencing the service serves as the theoretical framework for the research. The service quality perceived cannot yet meet the expectation of customers in any SERVQUAL Dimensions.

Recommendations: The issue of reliability in service aspect needs to be dealt with an overhaul of systems and routines while other aspects of service call for equipping employees with required knowledge. A focus on specific services to the target group of customers also needs to be established.

The Integration of Remote Sensing and GIS to Facilitate Sustainable Urban Environmental Management: The Case of Bangkok, Thailand

Malcolm, Neil January 2002 (has links)
Cities in developing countries are facing serious problems as a result of rapid urban population growth. Not the least of these problems is the creation of environmental stresses at the rural-urban fringe of these cities as they increase in area and envelop fertile surrounding agricultural lands. Because of this rapid rate of growth, sustainable urban environmental management (SUEM) policies and practices are often difficult to develop and implement proactively. This thesis argues that rapid population growth and subsequent urban expansion occurs such that urban form and function are built around the transportation network. In this context, a basic requirement for the facilitation of SUEM is the ability to be able to detect and extract indicators of urban expansion, in particular the road network, from available satellite remote sensing (RS) data. Subsequently, the indictors of growth derived from RS imagery can be integrated into a multi-source GIS database with ground-based census data to facilitate potential environmental stress analysis. The extraction of useful data from RS imagery for GIS-based analysis of urban growth is achieved through an integrated conceptual and operational framework presented in the thesis. This framework allows for environmental stress analysis at the urban periphery that can assist with the design of policies to contain urban growth.

The effectiveness of jobs-housing balance as a strategy for reducing traffic congestion: a study of metropolitan Bangkok

Lobyaem, Sonchai 30 October 2006 (has links)
Bangkok is widely known for its severe traffic congestion. The Thai government advocates the concept of jobs and housing balance (JHB) as a strategy for reducing traffic congestion in Metropolitan Bangkok. The basic idea is to decentralize the jobs to the neighboring provinces so that the commuters would live closer to their workplaces and thereby alleviate traffic congestion. The main purpose of this research is to examine empirically the effectiveness of JHB in reducing the severity of traffic congestion in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region. For this purpose, three data sets derived from the Bangkok Metropolitan Region Extended City Model (BMR-ECM) were obtained from the Office of the Commission for the Management of Land Traffic and the National Statistical Office of Thailand. Travel time index (TTI) was developed to measure congestion. In addition to JHB, a number of land use variables were included in the analysis. They are population density, school density, and job accessibility index. Multiple regression models of TTI as functions of JHB and other variables were estimated at two geographic scales: subsector and traffic analysis zone (TAZ). The study finds JHB is significant in influencing congestion levels in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region. Other influential factors include the population density, school density, and job accessibility. All of these factors are found to be statistically significant in explaining the variation of traffic congestion at the traffic analysis zone level, but not at the subsector level, however.

In Whose Interest? A Critical Approach to Southeast Asia’s Urban Transport Dynamics

townsend@alcor.concordia.ca, Craig Townsend January 2003 (has links)
During recent decades, urban transport systems in Southeast Asia’s industrialising high growth economies were transformed. The ownership and use of privatelyowned cars and motorcycles grew in all cities, simultaneous to the introduction of new forms of public transportation including rail rapid transit in the larger metropolises. While these cities all experienced dynamic change, the relative rate and direction of the changes to urban transport systems varied greatly as did levels of success. Singapore emerged as a highly efficient transit metropolis whilst Bangkok and other cities gained notoriety as some of the world’s great traffic disasters. Why these differences emerged, particularly given a regional and global context of increasing interaction and exchange of ideas and of capital flows, presents a compelling question largely unanswered by previous research. A review of the general state of knowledge about urban transport worldwide reveals fundamental disagreements over basic questions such as the social value of motorisation, the relative merits of specific modes and technologies, and prescriptions for change. However, there is a general consensus that interest groups or rent-seekers influence urban transport, which can not be understand in solely technical or value-free terms. A literature review focused on Southeast Asian cities finds that in contrast to theoretical perspectives on cities of the industrialised world, there is less acknowledgement of interests and values and more emphasis on instrumental knowledge which can be used to address immediate problems such as rapid growth in motorisation, traffic congestion, and pollution. Questions such as who wins and who loses from changes to urban transport systems are not systematically examined in the existing literature on Southeast Asian cities. In order to address this gap, a case study analysis of three key cities, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore is undertaken. This analysis utilises policy and planning documents, monographs and academic works, newspapers and archival materials, discussions with key informants, and participant observation, to reveal the significant actors and processes which shape urban transport. The study finds that the presence or absence of actors and complexions of interests in the development of urban land, urban transport equipment, infrastructure construction and operation, and local environmental improvements are linked to specific urban transport outcomes. The findings provide a basis for future research, particularly in cities of the developing world characterised by economic growth, rapid motorisation of urban transport systems, and substantial inequalities of wealth and power.
