Tvorba pěších zón, pěších tahů a pěších propojení v historickém urbánním prostoru

Kvasniaková, Anna January 2016 (has links)
This diploma thesis is about creation of pedestrian zones and their connections in historical urban area. It consists of two parts. The theoretical part includes principles of creation, meaning and contribution of pedestrian zones, moves and connections which were defined after the study of literature and analysis of five implemented communication systems in Slovakia and abroad. These principles were the theoretical basis for the complex architectural study in the practical part of the work. The second part of the work includes a project that is a practical application of the defined basis. The central part of Bratislava was used as a model object. The study is based on the analysis of relations, environmental conditions, historical development, functional capability of the area and the analysis of already existing pedestrian connections and traffic. The work includes a design of a pedestrian connection that is more elaborate in detail. In this design we applied principles of traffic segregation, connections to wider area, increase of the attractiveness of the area and implementation of vegetation.

Gentrifikace v kontextu revitalizace bratislavského vnitřního města / Gentrification in the context of revitalization of inner city of Bratislava

Gubčo, Adrian January 2017 (has links)
GENTRIFICATION IN THE CONTEXT OF REVITALIZATION OF INNER CITY OF BRATISLAVA Inner city of Bratislava is currently experiencing the revitalization processes which share similarities with the process of gentrification witnessed in many other advanced capitalist cities as well as postsocialist cities. Aim of this study is to analyse situation in Bratislava in a complex way and to respond on a question, if there is gentrification happening in the Capital of Slovakia, what is its extent, character and a general influence in the context of revitalization of the inner city. For these purposes, more types of research methods are used, in which social, physical and functional image of the selected area with the biggest potential for gentrification is observed, views and motivations of the local actors are explored and signs of possible conflicts are analysed. By that study also aims to extend and deepen the knowledge about the mechanisms of transformation of postsocialist cities. Key words: Gentrification, postsocialist city, Bratislava

Red Towers

Kisch, Sean 01 January 2020 (has links)
Red Towers is named after Bratislava Castle in Bratislava, Slovakia. I spent the summers of 2017 and 2019 traveling to different cities in Slovakia, and since my own heritage is Slovak, I began thinking about the idea of "home." What makes a home a home? Where was home for me? Red Towers is divided into two sections. In the first section I tried to capture the feeling of excitement that comes with leaving home, exploring the unknown, and experiencing new things. The second section is much more gentle and contemplative, and expresses the longing to return home. I decided on the title Red Towers not only because of the connection to Slovakia, but also because of the power that the words convey and their metaphorical meaning. I have dedicated this piece to my mom, who created the best home a son could ask for, and continues to demonstrate an uncommon kindness and hospitality. The melody in the clarinet at the end is my melody for her.

Ján Albrecht - ein Musiker aus Bratislava (Preßburg, Pozsony)

Morgenstern, Christiane 27 March 2017 (has links) (PDF)

Demetrovičová, Michala January 2010 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the comparison of Prague and Bratislava from 1990 to 2009 with regard to their sustainable development and future development trends. Until 1993, both capitals share the same direction, being part of the same country. Aim of this thesis is to evaluate comparison points with regard to their sustainable development and to answer the question if both cities have the same development after the year 1990. The thesis is divided into five sections. The first section outlines the bases of urban theory. The second section focuses on methods and data base. Analyses of both cities are described in the third and fourth sections. In the final fifth part, outcomes of comparison of both cities with regard to the development of major European capitals are evaluated. Results of the comparison are summarised in the conclusion.

Město dvou nábřeží / City of two waterfronts

Falathová, Katarína Unknown Date (has links)
The Bratislava phenomenon of waterfront diversity is an European rarity. With my work, I would like to support this duality and show its potential. I have highlighted a few principles which, in my opinion, are the problem of the not very functioning symbiosis of the waterfronts. Bratislava as a city suffers from large number of uncertain spaces, which prevents any continuity. The left waterfront is almost entirely built up and you can see some continuity there. The right waterfront is full of empty unidentified areas, parking lots and old buildings. The international cycle route holds this area together. The continuous forest becomes a set of fragments. The presence of man could be the basic of connection. The addition of features and interventions could increase the interest of people. A social space would be created, the center would be extended to the opposite waterfront and the connection with Petržalka would be realistic gold for the future. The solution could be to create several stops along the cycle path. Each space under the bridge has its own charakter. Today, all these spaces are without presence of man. Every bridge could get its own identity by creating space suitable for humans. Together, the bridges will create and adventure route on the right waterfrot with a lot of opportunities to socialize, entertain, educate, experience some culture events or do some sports. The cycle route passes through the several other interesting places to stop. The number of visitors will increase by adding use and the continuity would be created by man himself.

Recompositions d’une offre de logement abordable et fabrique métropolitaine / The third housing sector in the metropolitan region Vienna-Bratislava. Renewal of an affordable housing suppl y and metropolitan fabric

Meyfroidt, Aurore 07 December 2016 (has links)
The third housing sector, as a hybrid segment linking social housing and private-driven housing, is being rediscovered as an alternative form of housing, due to the legacy of housing cooperatives from the end of the 19th century: it could lead to an affordable housing supply so as to offer decent accommodation to a broader part of the population, in various spatial contexts but mainly in metropolitan areas which face ever-increasing demographie, land and socio-spatial pressure. The choice of a metropolitan perimeter provides an added dimension to this housing segment which seems to inextricably echo the national scale. The metropolitan region Vienna-Bratislava is often analyzed with a focus on cross-border cooperation, with a top-down approach . However national divergences in terms of socio-economic development and public policy orientations remain significant, and thus question the true extent of the integration of this metropolitan cross-border region. Nevertheless both Austrian and Slovak part of this region face similar issues such as suburbanization (including a rising cross-border suburbanization process), attractiveness of metropolises, and socio-spatial cohesion. Through the scope of the third housing sector which exists in both contexts under various forms (in terms of both housing stock and construction) I will question the silent integration of this metropolitan region by monitoring the evolution of the metropolitan fabric (through the concrete housing production in the third housing sector), strategies of stakeholders and the evolution of housing policies, caught between economie viability and general interest tasks.
