Ibsen no Brasil: historiografia, seleção de textos críticos e catálogo bibliográfico / Ibsen in Brazil: historiography, selection of critical texts and bibliographical catalogue

Jane Pessoa da Silva 12 September 2007 (has links)
This work, composed of three volumes (I. Historiography; II. Selection of critical texts; and III. Bibliographical catalogue), presents an overview of the reception of Ibsen in Brazil. The first volume is an assessment of the rich and varied criticism Ibsen received in Brazil within the context of the theatrical ideas of the nineteenth century, the modernization of the theatre in the 1940s, until the contemporary level of critical trends. The second selects the most relevant texts in order to understand the works of the playwright, which were published in Brazil from 1985 and 2002. Finally, the third presents bibliographical information on Brazilian translations of his plays; on adaptations carried through in theatre and on TV; in books, book chapters, prefaces and texts published in periodicals about the playwright. Through this route, an attempt was made to understand the way Ibsenian theatre was assimilated by Brazilian critics, taking into account foreign influences, especially of French origin. At the same time, we attempt to highlight examples of breaking from such tradition, especially considering the thoughts of Antonio de Alcântara Machado, Otto Maria Carpeaux and Anatol Rosenfeld, who gave us another approach to the studies of Ibsen\'s plays.

A Dramaturgia no Cinema Brasileiro (1936-1951) / -

Felipe Augusto de Moraes 20 April 2017 (has links)
With the arrival of \"talkies\" in the final years of the 1920s, Brazilian cinema, which like others around the world was living in a moment of great creative vigor, is forced to reinvent itself, practically starting again. To the more purists, this new beginning implied a relapse of the cinema into the old theatrical art; for the most optimistic, represented the consecration of the cinematographic \'dispositif\' as the most modern and effective mode of dramatization. Narrative cinema, with the addition of synchronized sound, unlike initial predictions, quickly reaches a new stage of popularity. This research studies how, in the two decades that followed the novelty of sound film, the dramaturgy of the film and theatrical dramaturgy interacted with each other to construct dramatic models that could meet the expectations of a new type of audience, more urban and cosmopolitan, in a country that quickly sought to overcome its rural past and the social and mental structures associated with it.

Visões de Otelo na cena e na literatura dramática nacional do século XIX / Visions of Otelo in the scene and the Brazilian dramatic literature of the nineteenth century

Daniela Ferreira Elyseu Rhinow 24 September 2007 (has links)
The thesis \"Visions of Otelo in the scene and the Brazilian dramatic literature of the nineteenth century\" deals with the arrival of the character Otelo on the stages of the city of Rio de Janeiro in the nineteenth century, and its appropriations in works by Brazilian authors of the period. Seeking to study the texts staged in Rio, the work tackles representations of the original Shakespearian text, in English or Italian translations; French versions of classicist spirit; Italian operas on the subject; and Portuguese translations brought by foreign companies. The reception of such stagings by the national press is contemplated, searching an ampler vision of their repercussion. Secondly, there is the analysis on how such texts have been appropriated into a national dramatic production, the main examples being plays by authors such as Martins Pena, Joaquim Manuel de Macedo, Gonçalves Dias and Aluísio Azevedo. From the study of the plays and documents from the period, it is the intention of this work to establish a clearer vision of the trajectory of the character in Brazil, as well as the extension of its influence in important writers in the formation of the Brazilian drama.

À luz de textos de Foucault, Nise da Silveira, Pirandello, Chevalier e de textos e obras de Fauzi e Flávio, a dissertação aborda sincronicidades e busca similitudes entre o plano ficcional de Pano de Boca e a realidade do teatro paulistano dos anos 1970, além de pôr em cena os lendários teatros Arena e Oficina, e o show Opinião / This dissertation discusses about the partnership between the set and costume designer and visual artist Flavio Império and the playwright-director Fauzi Arap in Pano de Boca, first play written by Arap with a focus on the 1976\'s production, held at the Teatro Treze de Maio, in São Paulo. Veto ao modernismo no teatro brasileiro / Veto against the Modernism in the Brazilian theatre

Simões, Giuliana Martins 04 August 2009 (has links)
This thesis examines the history of the Brazilian theater, during the first decades of the twentieth century, taking into account the unwilling reception of the modern experiences dreamt by authors such as Renato Vianna, Flávio de Carvalho e Oswald de Andrade. Through the studies of aesthetic of reception, especially those developed by Hans Robert Jauss, which emphasizes the historical aspect of the artistic reception, this research is an attempt to understand the way these authors responded to the challenges and issues related to the horizons of expectation of their time. The refusal, as a reception feature of those artistic experiments, do not depreciate the renovation of the theatrical activity, on the contrary, the hindrances met by those artists for a full development of their theatrical investigations the lack of understanding from the critics for the analysis of modern performances, the assessments done from retrograde criteria, the malaise evoked between artists and producers, as well as the state agencies specialized on control and censorship that pursued artistic experiments express the effectiveness of those artistic experiments, and testify the confrontation with the established rules and norms, which were the aesthetic horizon of that time.

Costa, Letícia Tomazella. January 2010 (has links)
If Brazilian theatrical and literary critics have legitimated the glory of Nelson Rodrigues since the year of 1943, the opposite occurred in 1946, when public and critique rejected the play Álbum de Família (Family álbum), which has remained censored for about twenty years. This research centres in the study of the critical fortune of both mentioned plays, and the choice of working with these specific plays is due to the contrast of critical opinions generated by them. Comprehending theatrical and literary critique of part of the 20th century, our study focusses on how the reception of an art piece works with the prevailing values of a social and artistic system, being able to legitimate an artist as worthy or unworthy / Mestre

Teatro de grupo no Estado do Acre = trajetória, prática e a inserção do estilo regional (1970-2010) / Group theater in Acre : history, practice and regional style (1970-2010)

Melo, Elderson Melo de 17 August 2018 (has links)
Orientador: Claudia Mariza Braga / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Artes / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-17T09:06:45Z (GMT). The present dissertation analyses the formation and characterisation of the instances of theatre groups organised in the state of Acre, as well as a panorama of the circumstances of production of the theatrical spectacles by these groups, with a more specific ambit concerning the productions of the regional thematic style, integrating some of the spectacles held by part of such groups. The inquiry carried out analyses some models of groupness which made up part of the trajectory of the group theatre in Acre, as well as characteristics of groups that still find themselves active in the state, in particular those which comprised the main urban hubs - namely Vale do Acre, Vale do Juruá and Vale do Purus, aiming at understanding, in a more encompassing fashion, where exactly the exercise of the creation of theatrical scenes presently is at. Moreover, it particularly strives for understanding in exactly which way the discourse about regional identities has been put to use as a component of creation in spectacles created in the state. In order to achieve that, a survey analysis was conducted - through the analysis of its content, which was applied to groups pertaining to the Federação de Teatro Amador do Acre [Amateur Theatre Federation of Acre] and, furthermore, an analyses of a theatre spectacle in particular, with a regional thematic style - namely 'Manuela e o Boto'. Therefore, the questions to be answered are: in which way and with what characteristics were the theatre groups constituted, and in which way are they currently constituted in the state of Acre? Is there a relation between the spectacles presented nowadays and the Acraniano regionalism or the founding myths of Acre? How exactly is this relation stablished in part of the elements of the spectacular scene? Pondering over the local artistic production, especially regarding what concerns theatre and theatre groups in Acre, is a challenge, but at the same time a necessity. This work is born from the effort to understand this artistic production, especially concerning group theatre and the compositions and contradictions which sometimes arise manifest in the discourse and praxis of the individuals who shape the theatre in the region / Mestrado / Artes Cenicas / Mestre em Artes

Entre espelhos deformantes: A representação da escravidão emq uatro peças brasileiras do século XIX / Among crazy mirrors: the representation of slavery in Brazil in four plays of nineteenth century

Sousa, Regina Claudia Garcia Oliveira de 12 March 2012 (has links)
This work observes the representation of the slavery in Brazil in the theatre of the XIX century, specially during the period of romatism in Brazil, analzing for pieces Calabar (1858), of Agrário de Meneses, Mãe (1859), of José de Alencar, Sangue limpo (1861), of Paulo Eiró, and Gonzaga ou a revolução de Minas (1867), of Castro Alves. The goal of this research is to show how brazilian slavery passes through processes, like metaforizations, which masked the reality of the system, thus hiding its violence. This representation is achieved mainly by the creation of deformed images of the slave, who even though being the base of the formation of Brazil, does almost not appear in a positive way in the literature of that epoch except by whitening him, but only regarding the domestic slave.
