Culture, resource, and regulatory concerns are elevating the importance of business expansion inthe contemporary world. Everyone, including service providers, must overcome the obstacles.Change readiness assists individuals and organizations in accepting and embracing obstacles. This study seeks to evaluate the different types of services offered to the elderly as well as the obstacles that arise when attempting to expand them, taking into account the diverse cultural backgrounds of the country's population, the dearth of available resources, and regulatory hurdles. In this research, a qualitative method was undertaken, followed by an exploratory analysis. This thesis investigates the service offerings and problems of eleven Bangladeshi service providers using primary data gathered from semi-structured interview. This also utilizes previous scholarly articles and published data from other academic sources.The study's findings highlight service provider challenges and offer a research paradigm for theservice business, notably elderly care. The results indicate that the majority of aged care services provided by different institutions are identical. Healthcare, along with other services like social and recreational programs, and educational and training courses, are all part of this category. Italso demonstrates that cultural, resource, and regulatory constraints are major roadblocks to this industry's development. Furthermore, research finding shows, currently providers are not ready tomeet the incremental demand and subsequent changes will take place in the near future.This thesis contributes to the literature on business development by examining organizational readiness to change (ORC) and the challenges faced by business. Despite focusing on a singlenation, this research provides a comprehensive evaluation of the importance of organizational change preparedness for service growth. This study suggested a conceptual model that relates institutional care obstacles from the provider's perspective.

Globalization has gradually increased exchanges and connections between countries. For companies, globalization entails enhanced opportunity. They embrace a broader set of business possibilities, and leverage resources in foreign countries, by growing their business abroad. The process of organic growth via the creation of a greenfield subsidiary will be studied in this paper. Such expansion can be challenging due to the number of unknown parameters involved, making greenfield expansions a risky investment. To manage risks and to increase the chances ofsuccess, firms have to analyze a diverse set of factors. The purpose of this study is to generate a framework facilitating well-informed decisions about opportunities and uncertainties in order to manage international expansion. Specifically, the study aims to answer the following question: What are the key factors to consider for a French firm seeking to open a subsidiary company in a Schengen-member country? The thesis focuses on finding patterns among companies that have successfully realized an international expansion, as to define the main criteria to reduce uncertainties. A qualitative study was used to get firsthand insights. The investigated companies come from different industries toget as much details as possible and to be able to define a general pattern to improve their decision making. The framework provided in the thesis lists key factors to consider for international business expansion. In addition, these criteria were mapped regarding the level of uncertainty they create and the level of control the company has over them, as a way to prioritize them. The framework is not a “fit-all” solution, but a tool for navigating critical decisions in the context of international greenfield investment. / Globaliseringen har gradvis ökat utbytet och förbindelserna mellan länder. För företag innebär detta en möjlighet att utveckla sin verksamhet utomlands, utnyttja nya möjligheter och utnyttja resurser i utlandet. I denna uppsats studeras organisk tillväxt via skapandet av ett greenfielddotterbolag utomlands. En sådan nyetablering kan vara utmanande på grund av att det stora antalet okända parametrar och det kan vara en riskfylld investering. För att lyckas och hantera förlängningen måste företagen slå upp och analysera en mängd olika variabler. Syftet med denna studie är att hitta och analysera de viktigaste utvärderingskriterierna som används i samband med greenfield-investeringar i ett främmande land. Mer specifikt syftar uppsatsen till att besvara följande fråga: Vilka är de viktigaste faktorerna att tänka på för ett franskt företag som vill öppna ett dotterbolag i ett Schengen medlemsland? Analysen kommer att resultera i ett ramverk till stöd för välinformerade beslut om möjligheter och osäkerheter för att hantera internationell expansion. Uppsatsen fokuserar på att kartlägga erfarenheter hos företag som framgångsrikt har genomfört en internationell expansion för att definiera de viktigaste kriterierna för att hantera osäkerheten kring denna typ av beslut. En kvalitativ studie användes för att få förstahands insikter. De undersökta företagen kommer från olika branscher för att få så mycket information som möjligt och för att kunna definiera ett allmänt mönster för att förbättra sitt beslutsfattande. I denna uppsats identifieras en uppsättning nyckelfaktorer att ta i beaktande vid internationell expansion. Dessutom analyseras dessa faktorer i termer av vilken osäkerhetsnivå de skapar och i vilken grad företaget har möjlighet att påverka dem. Denna analys mynnar ut i en prioritering avfaktorer att hantera vid expansion. Ramverket erbjuder inga lösningar för alla tänkbara tillfällen,men det ger en användbar översikt över framgångsfaktorer vid internationella greenfieldinvesteringar.

A calculation of investment costs is a part of the proposal.

Previous issue date: 2018-06-18 / Esse Trabalho Aplicado consistiu na apresentação de um trabalho de intervenção em uma organização, mediante o desenvolvimento de um plano de negócios para a expansão do Espaço Conectar, cujo modelo de negócio consiste na sublocação de espaço em um local para a realização de atividades que visam promover o bem-estar físico e mental das pessoas, com o objetivo de melhoria da qualidade de vida, abrangendo desde metodologias tradicionais, como sessões de psicologia, até terapias alternativas e procedimentos estéticos. O Espaço Conectar possuía, até maio de 2018, uma única unidade localizada no bairro da Vila Clementino, em São Paulo, Capital. O autor deste trabalho conheceu a idealizadora e fundadora do Espaço Conectar e, tendo se identificado com a proposta, desde outubro de 2017, vem auxiliando a empresa na definição e implantação de uma estratégia visando a expansão da empresa, sendo que em abril de 2018 o autor tomou a decisão de entrar como sócio na companhia, participando efetivamente dessa expansão. O estudo, de natureza qualitativa, utilizou a metodologia SCQA de resolução estrutura de problemas e valeu-se de um questionário semiestruturado com os atuais e potenciais clientes do Espaço Conectar, visando a coleta de dados para que fosse possível determinar a percepção dos clientes em relação ao modelo de negócios do Espaço Conectar – primeiro passo para a definição e implantação de uma estratégia de expansão. O plano de negócios foi estruturado utilizando o modelo de Sahlman (1997), a partir do qual o projeto se demonstrou viável, fundamentando a decisão de aporte financeiro mediante a inclusão de dois novos sócios no negócio. É esperado que esse trabalho contribua academicamente ao gerar um maior conhecimento sobre o tema, visto que o Espaço Conectar tem uma proposta inovadora. Do ponto de vista profissional, o trabalho proporcionou maior segurança no desenvolvimento da estratégia para o negócio, a qual poderá ser implantada com maior assertividade, gerando maior riqueza para os acionistas e preservando, inclusive, o capital do autor. / This Applied Work consisted in the presentation of a work of intervention in an organization, through the development of a business plan for the expansion of Espaço Conectar, whose business model consists of the sublease of rooms in a place to carry out activities that aim to promote the physical and mental well-being of the people, with the objective of improving the quality of life, ranging from traditional methodologies, such as psychology sessions, to alternative therapies and beauty procedures. Espaço Conectar possessed, until May 2018, a single unit located in the district of Vila Clementino, in São Paulo, Capital. The author of this Applied Work met the founder of Espaço Conectar and, having identified with the proposal, since October 2017, has been assisting the company in the definition and implementation of a strategy aimed at the expansion of the company, and in April 2018 the author made the decision to enter as a partner in the company, effectively participating in this expansion. The qualitative study used the SCQA methodology to solve problem structure and made use of a semi-structured questionary with the current and potential customers of Espaço Conectar, aiming at collecting data so that it was possible to determine the perception of customers in relation to the Espaço Conectar business model - the first step in defining and implementing an expansion strategy. The business plan was structured using Sahlman's (1997) model, from which the project proved to be feasible, based on the decision of financial contribution through the inclusion of two new partners in the business. It is expected that this work will contribute academically by generating a greater knowledge on the subject, since Espaço Conectar has an innovative proposal. From the professional point of view, the work provided greater precision in the development of the strategy for the business, which could be implemented with greater assertiveness, generating wealth for shareholders and preserving, even, the author's capital.
