Artifact-Supported Performance Management of Collaborative Care Teams

Lakhani, Rubina 10 August 2021 (has links)
This research proposes a framework for collaborative care in which the performance of healthcare teams is measured in an objective and quantifiable manner. We call our framework the Performance Management Framework for Collaborative Care (PMFCC). The PMFCC was developed using insights from agile software engineering, business, and healthcare and consists of three Components: the Collaboration Space Ontology Template, the Agile Process Model, and the Performance Management Model. We developed a set of example Artifacts based on our framework to better support performance management of collaborative care teams: Agile Treatment Plan, Agile Collaborative Dashboard, ICF Patient Card and Collaborative Care Model Canvas. The framework and associated Artifacts were developed iteratively using Design Science Research Methodology. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder was used as an example relevant to performance management of collaborative care teams. A Clinical Vignette drawn from the healthcare literature was used to develop a set of scenarios to test and evaluate the PMFCC and its Artifacts at each iteration. A panel of experts was established at the end of our research to review our results and provide structured and unstructured feedback based on a set of evaluation criteria drawn from the relevant academic literature. The PMFCC was also compared to related works from the literature.

Sustainable Business Models in Start-ups : The process of creating and implementing SBMs successfully

Sandsjö, Agnes, Wiklund, Emelie January 2020 (has links)
Sustainability issues have been a popular and important topic on the world’s agenda the recent years, which has caused businesses to follow the policies of operating more sustainable. One of the latest introduced guidelines is the Global Goals imposed by the United Nations to be met by 2030. In light of these goals, awareness regarding sustainability issues among consumers and other stakeholders has increased, leading to that change is inevitable for businesses to start operating sustainably. The concept of sustainable business model innovation therefore becomes relevant. There is a lot of research regarding sustainable business model innovation. However, the research is heavily focusing on theoretical aspects of it, and less is given to the practical creation and implementation of sustainable business models. Further, less focus is given to start-up companies specifically. Due to the identified research gap, this study aims to answer the research question: “How can start-ups successfully create and implement sustainable business models to become an established actor on its specific market?” The purpose of this study is to create an understanding and contribute with extended knowledge of how sustainability is practiced in start-ups. More specifically, how sustainable business models are created and implemented in start-ups. A qualitative abductive approach was used to fulfill this purpose. Additionally, six semi-structured interviews were conducted with founders of start-ups and business coaches from Swedish incubators, which were structured based on the themes from the Lean Start-up Framework (LSF). This framework, along with the Triple Layered Business Model Canvas (TLBMC) showed to be of importance after the theoretical review. The key findings retrieved displayed that the LSF is suitable to describe the sustainable start-up process as well. Yet, the TLBMC needs to be integrated to fulfill the purpose of sustainability. Further, the benefit versus impact is shown to be of great importance whereas the framework’s components were modified in that sense as well in those cases needed. This study theoretically contributes to extended knowledge and additional components of the Lean Start-up framework that are advocated to be crucial to create a sustainable business model. These additional components are further of value for the existing field of research. Practically, by the extended and modified framework, it offers valuable insight for entrepreneurs with a business idea where the purpose is to offer a sustainable value proposition. Lastly, this study contributes to a social level by providing guidelines on the implementation of sustainability in the business model, leading to the encouragement to operate sustainably and towards a better environment and society.

Prediktion av optimal tidpunkt för köp av flygbiljetter med hjälp av maskininlärning / Prediction of optimal purchase time of airline tickets using machine learning

Jacobsson, Marcus, Inkapööl, Viktor January 2020 (has links)
The work presented in this study is based on the desire of cutting consumer costs related to purchase of airfare tickets. In detail, the study has investigated whether it is possible to classify optimal purchase decisions for specific flight routes with high accuracy using machine learning models trained with basic data containing only price and search date for a given date of departure. The models were based on Random Forest Classifier and trained on search data up to 90 days ahead of every leave date in July 2016-2018, and tested on the same kind of data for 2019. After preparation of data and tuning of hyperparameters the final models managed to correctly classify optimal purchase with an accuracy of 88% for the trip Stockholm-Mallorca and 84% for the trip Stockholm-Bangkok. Based on the assumption that the number of searches correlates with demand and in turn actual purchases, the study calculated the average expected savings per ticket using the model on the specific routes to be 21% and 17% respectively. Furthermore, the study has also examined how a business model for price comparison could be reshaped to incorporate these findings. The framework was set up using Business Model Canvas and resulted in the recommendation of implementing a premium service where users would be given the information wether to buy or wait based on a search.

Assessment of the measures by ports against the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic : a case study of Jiujiang Port

Hu, Hao January 2022 (has links)
The COVID-19 pandemic has seriously impacted the global economy, especially port trade. The port of Jiujiang was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Jiujiang port is an important port in China's inland rivers, an important hub of the regional transportation system, and an important port for foreign trade and plays a great role in economic development. This article uses a questionnaire survey to find that the factors affecting ports during the COVID-19 pandemic include an increase in COVID-19 diagnosis, a decline in demand, and rising port costs. These factors are analyzed using the BPMN model and BMC model. The BPMN model describes the container handling process in Jiujiang Port and is used to analyze the increase in COVID-19 diagnosis. BMC's Western Europe tour describes the corporate structure of Jiujiang Port. It is used to analyze the decline in demand and rising port costs. The measures of Jiujiang Port Use electronic communication instead of human contact, Port expansion, and building big data platform are used to deal with these three factors affecting the port. These measures are analyzed using SWOT analysis to analyze their strengths, weaknesses, challenges, and opportunities. Improvements to these measures are proposed. Requiring ships and ports to communicate electronically, build big data platforms, and expand ports were measures taken by Jiujiang Port as response measures to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Recommended measures for digitalization are: provide digital training for employees, increase data communication with other ports and enterprises, make thorough plans, complete the realization of intelligent scenarios, and pay attention to government countermeasures and market changes.
