Two computer programs were developed using a CDC 3100. They were written in FORTRAN IV. One program uses four tape drives, one card reader, and one printer. It will calculate factorial analysis of variance with or without covariance and/or multivariate analysis for one to eight factors and up to twenty-five variables. The other program is used for completely randomized designs, randomized block designs, and latin square designs. It will handle twenty-five treatments, rows (blocks), and columns. The program can handle fifteen variables using any number of these variables for covariates.

Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / The marker strategy design (MSGD) has been proposed to assess and validate predictive markers for targeted therapies and immunotherapies. Under this design, patients are randomized into two strategies: the marker-based strategy, which treats patients based on their marker status, and the non-marker-based strategy, which randomizes patients into treatments independent of their marker status in the same way as in a standard randomized clinical trial. The strategy effect is then tested by comparing the response rate between the two strategies and this strategy effect is commonly used to evaluate the predictive capability of the markers. We show that this commonly used between-strategy test is flawed, which may cause investigators to miss the opportunity to discover important predictive markers or falsely claim an irrelevant marker as predictive. Then we propose new procedures to improve the power of the MSGD to detect the predictive marker effect. One is based on a binary response endpoint; the second is based on survival endpoints. We conduct simulation studies to compare the performance of the MSGD with the widely used marker stratified design (MSFD). Numerical studies show that the MSGD and MSFD has comparable performance. Hence, contrary to popular belief that the MSGD is an inferior design compared with the MSFD, we conclude that using the MSGD with the proposed tests is an efficient and ethical way to find predictive markers for targeted therapies.

The aim of my diploma thesis entitled Wages and prices in construction is to introduce the methods of remuneration, types of wages and the calculation procedure, as well as to introduce the types and forms of prices and procedures for creating the price of a construction work. The diploma thesis consists of four basic sections divided into eight chapters and other subchapters. The first section, Wages, contains information on wages and the determination of types of wages. In the second section we will focus on prices in general, their types and forms and prices in construction with budgets. In the last part we will focus on an example item budget of a family house,

<p> The energy bands and Fermi surface of mercury have been calculated using local and non-local pseudopotentials. The non-local pseudopotentials were an approximation in which the repulsive potentials of the outer atomic core states were explicitly represented by non-local projection operators. </p> <p> A search was made for the regions of parameter space where the pseudopotential generated a Fermi surface having a good fit to the experimental magneto-acoustic calipers and de Haas-van Alphen extremal cross sectional areas. </p> <p> De Haas-van Alphen frequencies and cyclotron masses were calculated for symmetry planes using a local pseudopotential. </p> <p> General questions of pseudopotential theory, the symmetry of the energy bands, the occurrence of degeneracies, and the influence of spin-orbit coupling are also considered. </p> / Thesis / Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
