Übrigens gehören zu den weltberühmten Kunstschätzen Dresdens nicht nur Diamanten, Gemälde der „Alten Meister“ und wertvolles Porzellan. Auch ein riesiges osmanisches Dreimastzelt kann man in der Türckischen Cammer im Residenzschloss bewundern. Angeschafft wurde es vor fast dreihundert Jahren, als die sächsische Armee bei einer Truppenschau auf offenem Feld kampierte, was als Zeithainer Lustlager in die Geschichte einging. In the Türckische Cammer (Turkish Chamber) in the Residenzschloss you can also admire a huge Ottoman three-masted tent. It was acquired almost three hundred years ago for the Zeithainer Lustlager, a military display at which the royal army of Saxony bivouacked in the open. Camping was obviously regarded as a fun activity even back then!

Trangia är ett varumärke som har utvecklat stormkök sen år 1925. I dagens portfolio har de inga alternativ för lättviktsvandrare, däremot utvecklar de ett nytt kärl idag som skall passa denna målgrupp. Syftet med rapporten är att ta reda på hur ett nytt vindskydd kan se ut till detta kärl och utveckla ett slutkoncept. Detta har gjorts genom att göra en undersökning på Trangia 27–1 UL, Optimus Elektra FE och ett fristående vindskydd i aluminiumfolie. Det har tagits fram prototyper vars effektivitet har testats i en vindtunnel både utan vind och med vind (5–6 m/s). För att kunna utföra dessa tester konstruerades det en vindtunnel för projektet. För att bevara Trangias designspråk har det även utförts semistrukturerade intervjuer mot Trangias personal. Slutkonceptet togs fram genom att följa en traditionell produktutvecklingsprocess. Resultatet visar på att Trangia 27–1 UL var det effektivaste köket av de testade. I vindtunneltestet hade stormkökets koktid ökat med 9,83% med kontra utan vind. Den semistrukturerade intervjun visade på att Trangias produkters designspråk ansågs vara mjuka, robusta och simpla. För att kunna utföra dessa tester konstruerades det en vindtunnel för projektet Slutsatsen i rapporten visar på att ett cylindriskt vindskydd med en tillräckligt stor ventilation är effektivast under vindbelastning. Den bör kunna packas ned och vara simpel att montera upp. För att bevara Trangias designuttryck bör vindskyddet ha mjuka kanter och kännas tålig. Det behövs däremot utföras ytterligare studier för att kunna göra noggrannare analyser på vindskyddet / Trangia is a brand that has been developing camping stoves since year 1925. In today's portfolio, they have no options for lightweight hikers, however, they are developing a new concept that they believe will suit this target group. The purpose of this report is to find out how a new windshield can look like for Trangias new product and develop a final concept. This has been done by examining the existing products: Trangia 27–1 UL, Optimus Elektra FE and a stand-alone aluminium foil windshield. Prototypes have been developed whose effectiveness have been tested in a wind tunnel, both without and with wind (5–6 m/s).A wind tunnel was constructed for the project in order to carry out these tests. To preserve Trangia's current design, semi-structured interviews have also been performed towards Trangia's staff. The final concept was developed by following a traditional product development.The result shows that the Trangia 27–1 UL was the most efficient kitchen of those tested. In the wind tunnel test, the cooking time of this camping stove had increased by 9.83% with wind, compared to without. The semi-structured interview showed that the design of Trangia's products was soft, robust, and simple.In conclusion, the report shows that a cylindrical wind shield with a sufficiently large ventilation is most efficient during wind load. The product should be able to be packed down and be simple to assemble. On the other hand, further studies are needed to be able to make thorough analyses of the wind shelter. / <p>2023-06-07</p>

"Naturum Panorama" är ett centrum för besökare och information i kombination med biologisk forskning som ligger 40 minuter söder om Södertälje, i Farstanäs naturreservat. Syftet med projektet är att skapa en nod som kan locka besökare samt skapa en starkare cirkulation och gemenskap över hela området. Naturreservatet är i fokus både i utformningen av arkitekturen såväl som i programmets inkluderade aktiviteter (som består av ett bibliotek, en utställningshall, ett auditorium och ett biologiskt forskningscenter för att nämna några). Byggnaden ansluter till en strandpromenad längs vattenlinjen vilket gör den lättillgänglig och hjälper till att stimulera flödet mellan "Farstanäs Säteri" (en bondgård) och Stockholm Strandby Farstanäs (en campingplats). För att göra byggnaden sekundär i förhållande till den omgivande naturen integreras taket med marken och gör det till en del av strandpromenaden så att den kan användas som utsiktspunkt och landmärke även för förbipasserande. Den helt glasade fasaden och den upphöjda första våningen skapar en känsla av transparens och lätthet som behövs för att lyfta fram och bevara naturen istället för den massiva volymen byggnaden består av. / "Naturum Panorama" is a centre for visitors and information combined with biological research located 40 minutes south of Södertälje, in Farstanäs nature reserve. The aim of the project is to create a node, able to attract visitors as well as create a stronger circulation and community across the area. The nature reserve is in focus both in the design of the architecture, and also in the included activities of the programme (which consists of a library, an exhibition hall, an auditorium and a biological research centre to mention a few). The building connects to an added board walk along the water line which makes it easily accessible and helps stimulate the flow between "Farstanäs Säteri" (a farmhouse) and Stockholm Strandby Farstanäs (a campsite). In order to make the building secondary to the surrounding nature, the roof integrates with the ground making it a part of the board walk so that it can be used as a vantage point and a land mark also for those only passing by. The completely glazed fasade and uplifted first floor creates a sense of transparency and lightness that is needed in order to highlight and to preserve the nature instead of the great volyme that the building consists of.

This thesis is located at the intersection of several bodies of literature. While material exists on the histories of tourism, the automobile and the family, this combination of literature is previously uncharted territory in the history of British Columbia. By looking at the articles and advertisements published in newspapers and magazines, this work focuses on the dominant discourse surrounding the family and the automobile in postwar British Columbia. Conceptually, it is divided into two sections. The first discusses the role of the automobile in the postwar family, examining ways in which cultural producers framed it as a site of family togetherness and an essential component of modern fatherhood and masculine domesticity. This discourse correlated the automobile’s gendered dynamics with roles of modern parenthood and the experience of childhood, effectively blurring the distinction between the domestic and the public. The second section brings the family automobile into the natural environment, exploring ways in which the automobile and other outdoor technologies shaped the family’s relationship to nature. Through the gendered consumption of goods associated with the outdoors, cultural producers portrayed facilitation of the family’s access to the outdoors as a fundamental component of modern fatherhood.
