This thesis examines the links between Bourdieu’s concept of the capitals and social mobility. By using interviews conducted with families who have imigrated to Austin from Latin American countries, patterns of social mobility are traced alongside the accumulation of capitals, such as cultural capital, social capital, economic capital, symbolic capital, and techno-capital. Three generations of women are interviewed from three different families, allowing the family history to serve as the unit of analysis. Links are made between the transmission and transmissibility of capital and the ascension or descension of social mobility. / text

<p>Social capital is a concept discussed in recent years in many debates, particularly in the development context. The objective of the study is to investigate empirically whether social capital as part of networks could promote political participation of interest groups in the policy formulation process. En el presente artículo, el autor se remonta a los orígenes jurídicos del capital del riesgo, una figura que en la actualidad va cobrando protagonismo como un medio de financiamiento, que, a pesar de conllevar un elevado riesgo, en función de ello, es capaz de proveer de un alto rendimiento, en una plazo determinado con la finalidad de que, con los previamente obtenido, se repita dicha operación de inversión. Finalmente, el autor asimila la figura del capital del riesgo al caso peruano, particularmente al ámbito de la minería, dados los elevados recursos que posee el Perú en este sector.
