Aplicación del Taller “Integrando Familias” en niños de 9 a 12 años de un Centro de Atención Residencial en Lima / Application of the workshop “Integrating Families” in  children from 9 to 12 years of a Residential Care Center in Lima

Adrianzén Rey, Katherin Junayda 10 July 2020 (has links)
The research work presents the explanation of a workshop held in a Residential Care Center whose objective was to define what a family is within a CAR, in order to make living more dynamic. The population with which they worked were children whose ages ranged from 9 to 12 years. The workshop was used as an instrument and an observation sheet that was created inside before carrying out the workshop. Among the results obtained, there was an improvement in the behavior of minors with respect to the way in which it was played. Another significant result was with respect to the students who went to school, since they now told how they had done in their day and not how they had behaved. Finally, with the completion of the workshop, it was concluded that it is important to carry out more studies of this type, since they allow us to learn about the dynamics of these institutionalized children. / Trabajo de investigación

The utilization of textile crafts in recreation programs of adult day care centers

Ray, Patricia Ann January 1982 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the existence of recreation programs in adult day care centers, the utilization of textile crafts in them, and the types of textile crafts used. Systematically selected, the sample was taken from the Health Care Financing Administration's Directory of Adult Day Care Centers. A questionnaire developed for this study, and an explanatory cover letter were mailed to 203 directors nationwide. A 51 percent response rate resulted in 103 useable returns. Recreation was included in 100 of the 103 adult day care centers. The respondents indicated that clients who attended adult day care generally participated in recreation. Textile crafts were part of 97 recreation programs, and activities were directed by trained recreation staff members knowledgeable about textile crafts. Crafts made available to clients were those the staff were capable of teaching. Sewing, crocheting, and weaving were ranked by respondents as easiest for clients, and needlepoint, embroidery, and macrame’ were ranked as difficult. Although the value and benefit of textile crafts to clients was not investigated, the fact that facilities include textile crafts within their programs suggests that crafts play an important part in filling the needs of at least some of the elderly. / Master of Science

A Survey of Parental Decision-Making Regarding Preschool Programs for Four-Year-Old Children

Vargo, Melinda T. 08 1900 (has links)
The study was an investigation of parental decision-making regarding preschool programs for their children. Data indicated that parents investigated a preschool program beyond a conversation with the preschool director and that non-educational aspects of preschool programs were important considerations in the selection of a preschool program by parents. Parents educational preferences tended to coincide with the educational programs of the preschools they selected, although parents indicated favorable opinions of more educational variables than any of the preschools surveyed offered. Levels of education attained by mothers appeared to have little effect on educational preferences, and parents whose first child was attending preschool had educational preferences similar to those of parents whose older children had attended preschool.

A Comparison Among Selected Groups of Day Care Directors Examining Their Levels of Death Anxiety and Responses to Simulated Death Situations

Blythe, Barbara Wirth 12 1900 (has links)
This study compared three groups of day care directors with regard to their levels of death anxiety and their responses to situations involving death that affect children in the day care center. In addition, the study compared the variables of age, years of experience in day care, parental status, and self-reported degree of religiosity with the directors' levels of death anxiety and their responses to simulated death situations. A possible relationship between the levels of death anxiety of the directors and their responses to simulated death situations was also investigated.

By the objective of investigating the way the history influences the practices undertaken on children from the age 0 to the age 3 in educative spaces and destined to them, this research has attempted to bring off the particular history, and also the objectives that influenced the foundation of two kinds of children educative institution in Americana city, located in the countryside of São Paulo State. The research was made in a public day care center maintained by the city and a philanthropic one, which, on an etnografic perspective, we may start realiseing quotidian observations, documental analyses and interview with educators and coordenators in order to unveil conceptions of childhood and child education built historicatly presented, still, in the quotidian of these institutions. Starting with collected information, we could observe some tendencies that guide our analyses: each institution presents a great goal that seems to be strongly related to its history of foundation, being linked to caritative-religious actions and a right to the worker mothers; the children conceptions, as well the learning process, seem to indicate to a steply view of development and/or from a child of the future, incomplete that still need trainings to develop himself; the reaction of the professional employees with the institution gets tense when the exactions form the parents are even more clear and, therefore, when they assume that the day care center space must join cares ...(Complete abstract, click electronic address below)
