Elas rompem com a tolerância católica em relação à vivência simultânea das práticas do catolicismo e das práticas de outras religiões, exigindo do adepto uma adesão exclusiva; mas continuam apresentando em sua constituição a possessão e o transe, recorrentes no campo religioso brasileiro. Este estudo aborda ainda as estratégias da RCC na televisão, que se contrapõem aos valores seculares transmitidos pelas emissoras de televisão comerciais e à ofensiva eletrônica das igrejas pentecostais. / This study aim was to comprehend the historical trajectory of the Catholic Charismatic Renovation (RCC) in Brazil. It was analyzed the relation between the RCC and the catholic Brazilian hierarchy, focusing in the charismatic practices the elements that promoted tension and the ones that made possible the accommodation of this movement in the ecclesiastic body. It was also intended to locate the charismatic practices in the religion field to catalogue he continuities and the ruptures that they have established in the Brazilian Catholicism. The charismatic practices violate with the catholic tolerance related to the simultaneous existence of the Catholicism and other religious practices, demanding of the disciple an exclusive adhesion; but they continue showing in their constitution the possession and the transe, extremely usual in the religious Brazilian field. It was also examined the strategies of he RCC in television, which opposed to the secular values broadcasted by merchandise television channels and the Pentecostal Churches electronics offensive.

Para tanto, apresenta-se um estudo da semântica global desses dois posicionamentos. Com base na relação entre os diferentes planos do discurso (práticas, ethos, cenografia, dêixis, intertextualidade e polêmica), procura-se verificar como se constitui o espaço de trocas (interdiscurso) que antecede a gênese dos discursos da TL e da RCC. Dessa forma, o estudo da semântica global, feito com base na análise de diferentes pistas textuais, é visto como um indício que ajuda a compreender o funcionamento do interdiscurso. O eixo central das discussões desta pesquisa se situa na noção de semântica global, proposta por Maingueneau (1984), segundo a qual todos os planos do discurso estão integrados e contribuem para a constituição de um corpo discursivo. O corpus da pesquisa é formado por diferentes gêneros (artigos de jornais e revistas, livros, documentos, panfletos publicitários, letras de música, etc.) que constituem a prática interdiscursiva dos dois posicionamentos estudados. A metodologia de pesquisa utilizada está centrada no dispositivo teórico-analítico da Análise de Discurso. Os resultados das análises revelam que os dois posicionamentos discursivos analisados (Teologia da Libertação e Renovação Carismática Católica), apesar de partilharem de um mesmo espaço discursivo (ou exatamente por isso), apresentam semânticas globais que se recusam mutuamente / Abstract: The main objective of this work is to analyze the interdiscursive relation that constitutes and traverses two religious movements of the Roman Catholic Church: Theology of Liberation (TL) and Catholic Charismatic Renovation (CCR). Thus, it presents a study of the global semantics of these two positions. Based on the relation between different planes of discourse (practices, ethos, scenography, deixis, intertextuality and polemic), it tries to verify how the space of exchanges (interdiscourse) that precedes the genesis of the discourses of TL and CCR is constituted. In this way, the global semantic study based on the analysis of different textual traces is considered as an index that helps you to understand the operation of the discourse. The central axis of the discussions in this research is situated in the notion of global semantics, proposed by Maingueneau (1984), and according to it all discourse planes are integrated and they contribute for the constitution of a discursive body. The corpus is constituted by different genders (newspaper and magazine articles, books, documents, pamphlets, lyrics, etc.) that integrate the interdiscursive practice of the two studied positions. The research methodology is founded on the theoreticalanalytical framework of Discourse Analysis. The results reveal that, despite sharing the same discursive space (or exactly for this reason), the two discursive positions analyzed (Theology of Liberation and Catholic Charismatic Renovation), have global semantics which refuse one another / Doutorado / Doutor em Linguística

This work wants show the insertion of Charismatic Movement in Contemporary Catholicism en Uberlândia. From representations of evangelization, it seeks to understand analogies as Modernity/Tradition and Time/History/Religion, based on participation of young people in the Charismatic Movement. As a consequence also became necessary to address principles Vatican Council II, since it allowed the emergence of Charismatic Renewal, bringing their similarities and differences with the Protestant Pentecostalism. Furthermore, with the focus on charismatic young, it it important to examine some of his most expressive elements, such a Prayer Groups and the relationship of these young people with university. / O presente trabalho procura mostrar a inserção do Movimento Carismático NO Catolicismo Contemporâneo em Uberlândia. A partir das representações de evangelização, busca-se entender analogias como Modernidade/Tradição e Tempo/História/Religião, com base na participação dos jovens no Movimento Carismático. Como consequência, também se fez necessário abordar princípios do Concílio Vaticano II, uma vez que permitiu o surgimento da Renovação Carismática, trazendo suas aproximações e distanciamentos com o pentecostalismo protestante. Além disso, tendo o foco na juventude carismática, é importante analisar alguns de seus elementos mais expressivos, como os Grupos de Oração e a relação desses jovens com a universidade. / Mestre em História

O problema fundamental consiste em desvelar e interpretar o intricado universo de relações de poder em articulação no movimento. Parte-se do pressuposto de que a Renovação Carismática desenvolve uma espécie de autonomia sutil que lhe outorga dinamicidade e capacidade de expansão, em razão da introdução de elementos religiosos não tradicionais e do desenvolvimento de mecanismos de poder e de práticas que se contrapõem ao primado da hierarquia na Igreja Católica. Esses elementos são os dons carismáticos, que denotam uma possibilidade de contato com Deus sem intermediação sacerdotal. A autonomia carismática significa uma contestação à estrutura de poder da Igreja. Ela investe tanto contra o clero conservador quanto contra o progressista. A Renovação Carismática nunca obteve a adesão hegemônica da hierarquia católica brasileira, apesar de receber, desde cedo, o apoio formal do Vaticano. A classificação como "neoconservador" é atribuída ao movimento em referência direta ao catolicismo das CEBs. Trata-se, portanto, de uma interpretação de pesquisadores identificados com a chamada ala progressista da Igreja Católica brasileira. E é a partir dessa mesma visão, que o carismatismo é considerado como reação ao pentecostalismo protestante e à Teologia da Libertação. Tal classificação é inadequada e não se justifica quando confrontada com os fatos. A relação propriamente institucional entre a Renovação Carismática e a Conferência Nacional dos Bispos do Brasil, tem sido marcada por tensões inerentes à relativa autonomia do movimento. A CNBB demorou mais de vinte anos para pronunciar-se oficialmente a respeito da RCC. porque tinha prioridades vinculadas ao projeto da Igreja Progressista. Quando enfim publicou o Documento 53, suscitou diversas críticas por causa da inconsistência do texto e de seu caráter essencialmente disciplinar. A índole do Documento reflete claramente o nível das relações de poder em articulação entre os dois segmentos. / This study presents an internal analysis of the Catholic Pentecostalism in Brazil, that is, an analysis of its power relations with the Catholic hierarchy and, by extension, with the Theology of Liberation. The main difficulty found in this work was in terms of how revealing and interpreting the intricate universe of power relations existing in the movement. Our findings are based on the assumption that the Charismatic Renewal has developed a kind of subtle autonomy that gave it dynamism and the ability to expand, because of the introduction of non-traditional religious elements as well the development of power mechanisms and practices that oppose to the primacy of the Catholic Church hierarchy. These religious elements are the charismatic gifts that represent a possibility of contact with God without the intermediation of priests. The Charismatic autonomy represents a contestation to the structure of power in the Church. The said autonomy contests both the conservative and the progressive clergy. The Charismatic Renewal has never obtained a hegemonic adhesion of the Brazilian Catholic hierarchy, although it has received, from the beginning, the formal support from the Vatican. The classification of the movement as "neoconservative" is directly related to the Catholicism of the CEBs and is, therefore, an interpretation of researchers that are identified with the so-called progressive wing of the Brazilian Catholic Church. This same view considers charismaticism as a reaction to the protestant Pentecostalism and the Theology of Liberation. Such classification is inadequate and cannot be justified when compared to facts. As for the institutional relationship between the Charismatic Renewal and the National Conference of Bishops in Brazil, it has always been marked by tensions that are directly related to the autonomy of the movement. It took CNBB (National Conference of Bishops in Brazil) more than twenty years to give their formal opinion about RCC (Catholic Charismatic Renewal), because of other priorities concerning the projects of the Progressive Church. When, at last, the Conference of Bishops published the Document 53. critics claimed that the document showed text inconsistency and had a disciplinary approach, basically. This Document clearly reflects the level of power relations existing between the two segments of the church.
