An analytical study was made concerning conditioning programs conducted by coaches of Conference AA and Conference AAA Texas senior high school girls' basketball teams which progressed to district championships in University Interscholastic League competition during the 1957-1958 season.

The diploma thesis is maping the World Pond Hockey Championship which helds place in Canada. The aim of this work is to analyze and characterize men's and women's teams that has participated at World Pond Hockey Championship. In the theoretical part of the thesis I was focusing on the history of men's and women's hockey on natural ice surfaces. I also characterized the World Pond Hockey Championship, rules of this sport and other big pond hockey tournaments. The practical part is devodet to the analyze of differencies between regular World Ice Hockey Championship and World Pond Hockey Championship. Furthermore the practical part analyzes men's and women's teams that has competed at the World Pond Hockey Championship. The analyze was done by my own observation, interviews with the players and coaches and also by the quantitative research from relevant sources.

The history, the development and the present state of particular categories at "Lokomotiva Nymburk" and "Canoe Sprint Squad Poděbrady" is also elaborated. Tyrimo objektas – sportinio turizmo turistų-sirgalių lūkesčiai. Mokslinė problema. Sportinio turizmo verslas niekada nebus efektyvus, jei paslaugų teikėjas gerai nežinos, kokie yra atvykusių turistų-sirgalių lūkesčiai. Norint patenkinti turistų - sirgalių lūkesčius, reikia išsiaiškinti tuos lūkesčius. Taigi, kokie yra sportinio turizmo turistų - sirgalių lūkesčiai? Darbo tikslas – nustatyti sportinio turizmo turistų-sirgalių lūkesčius 2011 m. Europos vyrų krepšinio čempionato kontekste. Darbo uždaviniai: 1. Išsiaiškinti sportinio turizmo sampratą ir sistemą. 2. Teoriniame tyrime buvo išsiaiškinta sportinio turizmo sampara, sistema bei turistų-sirgalių lūkesčių samprata. Sportas pristatomos, kaip ryškus sociokultūrinis fenomenas, kuris turi įtakos tiek atskiram žmogui, tiek visuomenei ar valstybei. Globalūs sporto renginiai formuoja žmonių požiūrį tiek į sportą, tiek ir į gyvenimą, todėl pasirinkta tema yra aktuali ir įdomi. 2011 metais įvykęs Europos krepšinio čempionatas buvo vienas svarbiausių įvykių per Lietuvos sporto istoriją. Taip pat jis buvo svarbus valstybei politiškai ir ekonomiškai. / To start with, scientific works of Lithuanians and foreign sociologists, culturologists and other scientists are analyzed in the master’s work. The sport is represented as important phenomena which can have an impact for each person or for the whole society or country. Global sports events forms attitude for the life and for the whole sports as well, for this reason, this theme is topical and interesting. European basketball championship of 2011 was one of the most important sport events in Lithuanians sport history. Not to mention the fact, that it was substantial for the country politically and economically.

This thesis is focused on evaluating age structure of cross-country skiing racers who participate in World Championship and Olympic Games. The work shall show if the age of sportsmen can be determined as one of the factors of success, what is the optimal age limit and how is this age limit changed in the course of time or if it stays the same. After studying available literature and after looking up certain data on the internet, the results were evaluated in Excel, the graphs were created and the final report was written. The results showed: the average age often oscillates among 24 and 36 years in the majority of disciplines, it has been rather decreasing mostly in the discipline od women - cross-countra skiing for 5 km both at the World Championship and at the Olympic Games. The age decreases at shorter distance and a little higher age increases or predominates at disciplines for longer distance. The total arithmetic mean of the age of the maximum performance is 27.99 years in cross-country skiing at World Championship and at winter Olympic Games from 1970 to 2007. The arithmetic mean of the age of winners in World Championship is 27.75 years. The arithmetic mean of the age of racers participated in winter Olympic Games is 28.33 years in that time. Average age of women is 27.78 years, average age of men is 28.19 years.

Scholarly research has analyzed how female athletes use their social media platforms and how they are represented in news media coverage. However, no scholarly literature has specifically looked at Ronda Rousey, an American mixed martial artist. The current study used a quantitative content analysis to examine how Rousey has utilized her Twitter account as well as how local and national newspapers in the United States framed coverage of Rousey between 2014 to 2016. For the tweets, content, referring to pictures that Rousey posted, was the most popular category; the second most prevalent category was promotional, referring to tweets that promoted upcoming events or sponsorships. Rousey mainly used her Twitter to post pictures of herself and promote her personal brand. For the newspaper articles, the most frequently used frames were agency, powerless, and goals and ambitions. Two new frames emerged from the current study – fame, referring to Rousey’s film career, and relations, referring to Rousey’s personal life and relationships. The newspapers were predominantly neutral in their coverage of Rousey throughout the three-year study period. This case study is important because it found that Rousey was framed in a way that differed from previous research. The findings in this study demonstrate that Rousey was not marginalized in newspaper coverage or portrayed in a negative manner, as other female athletes have been in the past. Rather than focusing on her appearance or sexuality, the news coverage highlighted Rousey’s success and athletic achievements.

The aim of the diploma thesis is to evaluate a significance of sport events for tourism and to analyze their impacts on tourism in the region. The thesis is divided into four chapters, the first two summarize theoretical knowledge - the economic importance of tourism, the inclusion of events into the context of the tourism industry and also specifics of sport events and their general impacts on the region, in which they are held. The next two chapters are devoted to the most important sport events in the Czech Republic as well as abroad and to the evaluation of their impacts on tourism in the destination. The final chapter focuses fully on the analysis of impacts of the Biathlon World Championship 2013 in Nové Město na Moravě on tourism in the region.
