Is there a difference between people who have been primed and not at attention-grabbing on sale colours

Axford, Olivia January 2023 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to test whether it was possible to prime the participants to think more about the environment and thereby pay more attention to the green advertising signs then the red ones. To fulfill the purpose, the framing of a question that was constructed was: “is there a difference between group “primed” and group “non-primed” in which color they pay more attention to in advertising signs?”.  In order to be able to test the question, a questionnaire study was carried out with an experimental design where half of the participants had to read a text about the environment and half had to answer questions about which advertising signs they noticed first directly. The participants were collected through Facebook groups. The random samples that were taken consisted of 100 people. The results obtained from the collected data were done using a Chi-square test. The result showed that there was a significant difference between the groups in how they answered, “don’t know”. However, there was no significant difference between the groups in how they answered that they noticed green and red in the advertising signs.  Further discussion was made on how the environmental text that half of the participants read seems to have made them more uncertain in their choices and do not seem to want to choose any of the advertising signs. Can the results given indicate that the participants associate environment with not only green but also that consumption and advertising are often associated with a bad environment.

Pilblad, Anna January 2022 (has links)
In 2021 Sweden got its first female prime minister, 102 years after women first were given the right to vote. Given the big focus on equality that has been a political trademark for the country for years, this milestone seems to have been passed quite late, which poses the question of how Sweden is doing in regard to equality. This paper investigates the possibility for women to be elected to municipality council in 2018, with focus on the importance of incumbency. Based on the power shield-hypothesis saying that incumbency increases the chances for a woman to be elected more than it does for a man, the effect of gender and incumbency on the probability of being elected to municipal council for 20 Swedish municipalities is investigated. Using a logistic model, the joint effect of being a woman and incumbent cannot be found on the probability of being elected to municipal council in the 2018 election. Tests of the importance of incumbency for women and men show that incumbency is very important for both genders, and no extreme effect can be found for either gender. The paper rejects the power shield-hypothesis for the Swedish municipality council-election of 2018.

Röjdén Thyberg, Sandra, Gabrielsson, Mélica January 2010 (has links)
With an explorative approach, this master thesis attempts to map associations and compare groupings of clients who have undergone an ASI Interview by The Swedish Prison and Probation Service, Kriminalvården. The study is based on 2 317 interviews carried out during the period 2008-2010, focusing on abuse of alcohol and narcotic substances. We will graphically illustrate interesting associations and study how the need for help varies throughout different areas of the respondents’ lives. Another aspect of this study is to evaluate the quality of the data material and to investigate non-response in the different variables. The quality of the material is fairly high and non-response is not extensive enough to affect analysis and inference. The errors found are almost exclusively due to how data is fed into the system. Since the majority of variables are qualitative, appropriate methods of analysis proved to be chi-square tests, correspondence analysis and association analysis. Most results confirm the existing image of an abusive personality, which has been presented in several studies before this one. A majority of the clients are men (85%) and the average age is 34 years. Interviewer estimates of the respondents’ need for help show that narcotic substances and criminal behavior are by far the greatest problem areas. The predominant drug is amphetamine (18%), followed by alcohol (15%) and cannabis (10%). We have established several significant differences between men and women, and between clients of different age groups. Young respondents show greater problems concerning criminal behavior, narcotic substances, work/providing and psychological health. With increased age we see enhanced difficulties regarding physical health and alcohol. Men more often exhibit problems concerning criminal behavior and narcotic substances, while women need increased help in areas of family/social life, physical health and psychological health.

A Comparison Between Active and Passive Funds in the Swedish market

Jeffner Hedström, Gustaf, Östblom, William January 2024 (has links)
The study investigates which management strategy is superior, funds’ performance across different economic conditions and persistence in the Swedish fund market. The main objective is to examine whether past fund performance can be utilized to predict future returns. Through using established performance measures such as Jensen’s Alpha, The Sharpe Ratio and Modigliani’s risk- adjusted performance (𝑀2), we compare fund performance. To identify persistence, funds’ returns are compared with median returns over a specific period. Through statistical tests such as Odds Ratio, Chi-square test and regression analysis, the study is further elaborated. The results of the study reveal isolated instances of persistence, but no consistent patterns can be discerned across all funds. The conclusion drawn from the study is that no superior management strategy can be definitively established. Additionally, the findings suggest no significant indications that past period returns can predict future returns.
