From the perspective of Cultural Studies and understanding of journalism as a producer of meanings in society, we attempt to make a cultural analysis of the object through the reflections especially of Hall (1999, 2003) and Benetti (2013). The so-called new middle class is discussed through the perspective of Neri (2011), Pochmann (2012) and Souza (2010). From crossing of theoretical references related to journalism and the new middle class, the research corpus, consisting of six reportages, is analyzed. We conclude that the so-called new middle class is represented by an economistic view (Souza, 2010, 2013), in which the income and consumption are the main factors to fit individuals into this group, at the expense of intangible values such as social and cultural capitals, essential for understanding the production and reproduction of classes over time. / O objetivo desta pesquisa ? analisar as representa??es da chamada nova classe m?dia brasileira nas revistas Veja, Isto?, ?poca e Carta Capital entre os anos de 2008 e 2013. A partir da perspectiva dos Estudos Culturais e da compreens?o do jornalismo como um produtor de sentidos na sociedade, busca-se realizar uma an?lise cultural do objeto por meio das reflex?es, sobretudo de Hall (1999, 2003) e Benetti (2013). A chamada nova classe m?dia ? discutida a partir da perspectiva de Neri (2011), Pochmann (2012) e Souza (2010). A partir do cruzamento dos referenciais te?ricos que versam sobre jornalismo e nova classe m?dia, o corpus de pesquisa, composto por seis reportagens, ? analisado. Conclui-se que a chamada nova classe m?dia ? representada por uma vis?o economicista (Souza, 2010, 2013), na qual a renda e o consumo s?o os fatores predominantes para enquadrar os indiv?duos nesse grupo, em detrimento de valores imateriais, como os capitais social e cultural, fundamentais para a compreens?o da produ??o e reprodu??o de classes ao longo do tempo.

There is a preconceived concept and a silent acceptance by the population in relation to popular journalism, especially by the new Brazilian middle class, also treated in this study as "C" class. With the digitization of media and the emergence of new formats and new possibilities for the professionals who work with information, languages change, as well as the concept of dissemination of information and its consumption. Multimidiality, hypertextuality and interactivity are terms that become part of journalism. By analyzing the popular newspapers ?Di?rio Ga?cho? from Rio Grande do Sul?, and ?Extra? from Rio de Janeiro, it is clear that there is a change of environment of popular journalism in the digital media, uniting elements of popular genre with features of traditional journalism, and thus creating a new format, which undergoes changes according to the media used. In addition, there is no concrete definition of social classes in the digital environment. All individuals are present there in order to seek information, regardless of the social and economic environment they are inserted in. There is therefore an audience deviation, which is part of the process of acquiring information. The main authors in this thesis are: Jesse Souza, Jo?o Canavilhas, M?rcia Amaral and Ram?n Salaverr?a. / O jornalismo popular possui caracter?sticas pr?prias quando presente no papel. H? um conceito pr?-definido e uma aceita??o t?cita por parte da popula??o, principalmente da nova classe m?dia brasileira, tamb?m tratada nesta pesquisa como classe "C". Com a digitaliza??o dos meios de comunica??o e o surgimento de novos formatos e novas possibilidades para os profissionais que trabalham com informa??o, as linguagens se modificam, assim como o conceito de dissemina??o e consumo de informa??o sofrem altera??es. Multimidialidade, hipertextualidade e interatividade s?o termos que passam a conviver diretamente com o jornalismo. O presente trabalho analisa a rela??o do n?mero de filhos nos domic?lios segundo suas classes sociais e seus respectivos padr?es de consumo. Para a fonte metodol?gica da discuss?o acerca das rela??es das classes sociais, a pesquisa tomou como base o esquema de operacionaliza??o de Goldthorpe (1987), para observar o efeito relacional do n?mero de filhos sobre seus gastos, foram utilizados os bancos de dados da Pesquisa de Or?amentos Familiares (POF) do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estat?stica ? IBGE, referente ? vers?o de 2008-2009. Tr?s elementos foram considerados centrais e fundamentais do banco de dados para a observa??o (Rendimentos, Domic?lios e Despesas), e foram extra?das as informa??es acerca das classes sociais, do n?mero de filhos por domic?lio, e as despesas com ve?culos por domic?lio como elemento de consumo. O decl?nio do n?mero de filhos se explica basicamente pelas grandes transforma??es na estrutura socioecon?mica da popula??o. Fatores como urbaniza??o, dinamiza??o da economia, maior acesso ao cr?dito e formas de consumo, e programas de transfer?ncia de renda para popula??o mais pobre s?o n?tidos para interfer?ncia comportamental sobre a cria??o de filhos por domic?lio. A influ?ncia do consumo e do aumento das qualifica??es profissionais e dos rendimentos, fez com que houvesse um crescimento na composi??o das classes sociais m?dias da forma que o comportamento reprodutivo das fam?lias sofresse com tais influ?ncias. / Discussions about the so-called middle class have had wide attention in Brazil in recent years, recognizing their economic and population importance, it is observed how the new patterns of consumption adopted by this class, labor and per capita income, influence the lower number of children by Woman by several factors. The present study analyzes the relation of the number of children in the households according to their social classes and their respective patterns of consumption. For the methodological source of the discussion about the relations of social classes, the research was based on Goldthorpe's (1987) scheme of operation, in order to observe the relational effect of the number of children on their expenditures. Family Budgets (POF) of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE, referring to the 2008-2009 version. Three elements were considered central and fundamental to the database for the observation (Income, Households and Expenses), and information about social classes, number of children per household was extracted, and expenses with vehicles per household as an element of consumption. The decline in the number of children is basically explained by the great changes in the socioeconomic structure of the population. Factors such as urbanization, economic dynamism, greater access to credit and forms of consumption, and income transfer programs for the poorest population are clear for behavioral interference on child rearing by household. The influence of the consumption and the increase of the professional qualifications and of the incomes, made that there was a growth in the composition of the average social classes of the form that the reproductive behavior of the families suffered with such influences.

Firstly, the objective is to understand if the principles, values and beliefs constructed and communicated (repassed) inside the Family filter the messages from the Mass Media. Secondly, if there still exists a family culture able to forge identity against so many cultural exchanges. Thirdly, what the function of this identity in the production of senses is. In session 1 and 2, a general approach about the dissemination of Mass Media in Society and the pertinence of the work is presented. Session 3 is about the method used: a qualitative research, with thirteen families from Natal-RN, situated in the Middle Class. The theorical base is considered in the fourth session where the reference to the evolution of the Family is made, with enphasis on the Middle Class and some theories that analyze the pheomenom of the Mass Media , specially in the second half of twentieth century. In session 5 and 6, the research data is presented and analyzed. Finally, in the last session, as a conclusion it can be said that the value of the Family as emotional support is reforced by the speeches and practices that interfere in the signification procces, singular aspects, as well as the social repertoire constructed per si and by institutions (including the family) moreover, mediative message is assimilated by the receiver and becomes understood inside the learned speeches during the receiver‟s history of life, although these messsages are also components in the construction of these repertoire. / O presente trabalho analisa a rela??o social entre a TV e a Fam?lia, a partir das ressignifica??es dos indiv?duos sobre as mensagens televisivas e os discursos que eles pr?prios fazem sobre Fam?lia. Analisaremos o crescimento desta Faixa C atrav?s de fontes oficiais pertinentes, como o IPEADATA, a Pesquisa de Or?amentos Familiares (POF) e a Pesquisa Nacional por Amostragem de Domic?lio (PNAD). Mobilizaremos autores e institui??es favor?veis ? classifica??o do Crit?rio Brasil, e as institui??es e os autores cr?ticos ao mesmo. Defendemos a tese de que o Brasil experimentou uma ascens?o horizontal fruto de um processo de incrementalismo social, n?o a ponto de serem consideradas classes m?dias, mas classes trabalhadoras consumidoras. Al?m disso, procuraremos demonstrar que o processo de inser??o social pode ser definido como inser??o dependente, em que se faz necess?rio novas pol?ticas p?blicas no sentido de garantir o acesso a servi?os p?blicos por gera??es e consolidar um processo de inclus?o social. / This thesis analyzed the growth of the working class in Brazilian society during the 2000s, identified by the Brazil Economic Classification Criteria as ?Classe C? (social class C). The thematic range has been fertile ground for a number of disputes, mainly because of questions as their characteristics, given the fact that this is a socially heterogeneous group, assembled by an economic stratification. We analyze the growth of this ?classe C? through relevant official data, as IPEADATA and the National Survey by Household Sampling (PNAD). Mobilize authors and institutions favorable to the classification Criterion Brazil, and institutions and critical at the same authors. We defend the thesis that Brazil experienced a social mobility by a process of social incrementalism. Also, we try to show that the social insertion process can be defined as insertion dependent, where it is necessary new public policies to ensure access to public services for generations and consolidate a process of social inclusion.
