A Systems Engineering Approach to Define the Fundamental Process for Phase 0/Steady State Theater-Level Strategic Assessments

Toohig, Robert J., Jr. 06 1900 (has links)
This thesis describes a functional framework for developing strategic assessment at the Combatant Command level, specifically European Command. The framework establishes a functional architecture based on derived requirements and objectives according to the systems engineering process described by Dennis Buede. This thesis describes the current methodology for developing theater plans based on the national strategies established by the President, Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In addition, it provides an analysis of the system stakeholders in order to define the purpose and utility of a strategic assessment from various perspectives. Based on this analysis, the requirements and functions of the system are decomposed and arranged according to a hierarchy via Vitechs CORE 8 University Edition. Finally, the developed model is tested against a notional scenario that assesses a fictional exercise according to the derived functional model, in order to demonstrate the methodology used to relate activities to strategic goals. This thesis defines the framework for conducting strategic assessments and leveraging them to maximize the impact of U.S. activities. / Lieutenant, United States Navy

Imperativ im DaF-Unterricht / Imperative in the Teaching of German as a Foreign Language

DOULOVÁ, Eva January 2017 (has links)
This thesis deals with the issue of the imperative and its periphrastic forms. It points out the options of expression of this phenomenon and its usage. The theoretical part of the thesis also deals with imperative sayings; they are then compared to the Czech language. Chapters on methodology follow because they are necessary to process the practical part. The work refers to principles of choosing a good textbook and mentions approaches to grammar instruction. The second part analyses nine textbooks for teaching German as a second foreign language. The analysis is divided into three parts; for each of them the criteria for its evaluation were set. The analysis focuses not only on a teacher´s language but also on how the grammar is presented in the textbooks. Moreover, the differences between the books are mentioned.

GSM brána pro PLC systémy / GSM gate for PLC systems

Kadaňka, Karel January 2019 (has links)
The master´s thesis describes the initial design of communication module for industrial automation purposes which can transmit short status messages via the GSM network informing about the status of the connected device to a predefined telephone number. In the first part, the communication protocols are describe and a market survey is carried out. Then follows the evaluation of the market survey and the justification of construction of the device. The following chapters are devoted to the description of the device being developed, its individual components and program description and testing prototype.

Použití GPRS modulu pro přenos JPG souborů v reálném čase / Application of GPRS module for real-time transmission of JPG files

Rusinský, Jan January 2010 (has links)
This document describes a design procedure of interface between VGA camera and GSM/GPRS modem for displaying JPEG pictures captured by camera on website. Interface is realized by eight-bit micricontroller ATMEL with application written in C language. For picture transfer to server a TCP/IP stack is implemented into modem. The document is divided into two main parts. The first part describes architecture of the system, used components (camera, modem, microcontroller) and electronic circuit design. The second part of the document is focused on the software for the system. Firstly operating system of modem is desribed, OpenAT development environment for modem application design and WIPsoft library, which is used to implement TCP/IP stack. Next is described application for microcontroller which controlls camera and modem. Last part of this document describes server application and web interface.
