The competition strategy research of Taiwan cloud computing industry

Lin, Yi-Chun 16 August 2010 (has links)
To say cloud computing is a brand new technology or industry development trend, I would prefer to say Cloud computer is the result of commercial business model revolution. The growth of Global information technology industry in recent years have been exhausted, the PC industry in the past, Intel and Microsoft, the Wintel architecture, across the world which exclusive more than 80% of market share. Each year the new products launches, all consumers must pay the bill without exception! However, when Microsoft introduced the new Vista operating system, the sales doesn¡¦t pan out as expectation. The consumers finally decide to penalize steadily increasing selling price. Meanwhile Intel also takes action to provide low-cost processor solutions to response to market needs and rescue declining rate of the market share. When global network coverage gets matured, the era of high-speed network is coming and human life will make a significant change because the business opportunities occur from the Internet. From the message propagation, interpersonal interaction and even food and lifestyle all hook up with the network; this huge business opportunity happens and it is appetizing! In recent years, ¡§Service" becomes the central idea of industry reconstruction. Cloud computing in fact is to serve as a starting point and the resulting value. "Cloud computing" has no "unified" specifications or definition right now, this study attempts to present to a limited data collected and discussed, with five force analysis, competitive analysis, management theory, explained the future of "possible" to become a huge business opportunity for the industry, and the feasibility to Taiwan in the light of the direction. The conclusions of this study are summarized as below: (1)Cloud computing has large business opportunity in the future (2)Taiwan Cloud computing businees opportunity can have 2 portions: one for hardware adding value, another for product reasearch (3)Taiwan has advantage to work with China for Cloud computing market (4)Taiwan government Cloud computing policy can study from Japan or Korea (5)Taiwan government Cloud computing policy can be a favor for local market

Systém řízení a konkurenceschopnost maloobchodu / System of management and competitiveness of retailer

PIHEROVÁ, Jitka January 2011 (has links)
This thesis, topically based in the system of management and competitiveness of retailer, is focusing on the management, the satisfaction of customers, the relationships with suppliers and clients and the analysis of competitors of the company Jana Vohryzková, which is using the business name: Vítěz, prodejna sportovních pohárů a trofejí. First part is dealing with theoretical basis which are necessary to compile the analysis of competition. Second part is divided into four chapters: Characteristics of retail, Analysis of relationships with suppliers and clients, System of customer service, customer satisfaction and Analysis of competition. Characteristics of retail focuses on the company development, process layout of sales unit, equipment of sales unit, range of goods and goods retailing. Company's main interest lies in both classical and Internet sale. Incomes from e commerce forms 58% of total incomes, incomes from store are remaining 42%. Therefore the analysis of competition includes two parts ? the analysis of competition of store and the analysis of competition of online store. Questionnaires regarding the customer satisfaction with both conventional store and Internet store are included. Customers were filling these in over a period of six months. 47 out of total 62 customers agreed to provide the information; consequently, 75.81% of customers participated in the poll. In 58 cases out of 76 the questionnaires were filled in along with their Internet order, which means that 76.32% of customers ordering in the Internet store answered the poll. Goal of this Masters' thesis is to suggest plans for sustaining and increasing the company's share of the market and to improve the satisfaction of customers in both conventional and Internet store.

Competition in the tridimensional urban fresh produce retail market : the case of the Tshwane metropolitan area, South Africa

Madevu, Hilton 21 August 2007 (has links)
A few vertically integrated retail chains increasingly dominate South Africa’s agro-food supply chain. M+M Planet Retail (2004) placed the market concentration among retailers to be as high as 96% for the top four chains leaving only 4% to the small competitors. The onset of this trend has led to the demise of a large number of “mom and pop” general dealers in favour of the sleek new stores as they were either priced or bought out of business. Players in the fresh produce market have proved to be resilient to this onslaught. The green grocers and hawkers have survived the “category killers” and appear to be able to face this competition head on. It is this resilience that is of interest to this study. The review of literature revealed a dearth of studies and hence methodology into the nature of the interaction between the three forms of retail. A preliminary survey also revealed the lack of coherent and detailed information, particularly among the greengrocers and hawkers. Thus the established methods of modelling competition analysis, namely the Structure Conduct Performance and the New Empirical Industrial Organisation frameworks, were deemed inappropriate. The study therefore took an exploratory form that relied on measures of central tendency and the perceptions of leading industry practitioners to reveal the nature and magnitude of competition between supermarkets, green grocers and hawkers. The study primarily drew on ‘Porter’s forces’ competition model to structure the investigation. It also employed a chain analysis approach including supply and value chain analysis (VCA) tools to analyse this competition. The study therefore sought to unpack the retail sections of the three chains in terms of identifying role-players; their relationships and interaction; as well as to account for the relative values that different types of fresh produce retailers generated for the final consumer. Besides the contribution to the general body of knowledge about the nature of the system that feeds us, this study provides means for the competing channels to upgrade and improve efficiency. A developmental and empowerment point of view was emphasised in the research, as such, identifying possible measures to upgrade and improve the informal sector was given precedence. The objective was to describe and analyse the competitive environment in which FFV was retailed in the Tshwane through a determination of the competitive and strategic behaviour of retailers and a mapping the flow of value. It was hypothesised that fresh produce retailers competed by varying elements of their marketing mix to suit their niche markets. The investigation was conducted in two phases; a pilot study followed by a survey involving a six-step sampling frame targeting a total of 120 respondents including 15 supermarkets, 30 greengrocers and 75 hawkers. This analysis was limited to the bounds of the Tshwane metropolitan area, South Africa, and focused on six fresh fruits and vegetable lines concurrently traded by supermarkets, greengrocers and hawkers. The main findings of the investigation include that tri-dimensional FFV retail competition was most intense in the middle-income areas of the city. The low income areas were dominated by informal traders while the large supermarkets chains and the large format greengrocers dominated the high income areas. The non-syndicated greengrocers were confined to the middle-income areas where competition was most intense. When the marketing strategies and chain maps were compared it was concluded that the tridimensional competitive environment was facilitated by the existence of multiple niches; the equalising effect of produce market based pricing; the general upgrade in product quality offered by all retailers; characteristics of fresh produce itself as compared to other foodstuffs and the existence of multiple market niches in the sector. Concluding the study were recommendations to improve (upgrade) the marketing performance of each of the three channels. / Dissertation (MSc(Agric) (Agricultural Economics))--University of Pretoria, 2007. / Agricultural Economics, Extension and Rural Development / MSc(Agric) / unrestricted

The calculation system is based on particular coefficients which are assigned in individual types of costs. New created system is tested on the specific sample of goods from the company. It is good to see weaknesses and deficiencies in suggested calculation. Conclusions from this analyse are specific values of profitability ratio Return on sales in every goods. The management of the company has to decide whether to revalue their goods or not.
