Thermo-energetic Analysis of the Fluid Systems in Cutting Machine Tools

Weber, Juliane, Lohse, Harald, Weber, Jürgen 02 May 2016 (has links) (PDF)
Controlling the thermo-elastic behavior of tooling machines can only be achieved by systematic analysis, characterization and design of their fluidic system. In the first stage of this project, fundamental work was done to develop simulation methods for the calculation of the thermodynamic behavior of a representative example of a milling machine and each of its components. With experimental and numerical data it was proven, that significant improvement can be achieved by a proper design of heat transfer conditions of the fluidic system. To correct and counterbalance thermo-energetic effects, it will be necessary to develop new structures of the tooling machines systems which ensure the temperature-control of local subsystems in dependence of the actual working process. The work which is documented in this paper deals with the thermodynamic behavior of the motor spindle.

Valíček, Roman January 2021 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to create a conceptual design of the secondary and tertiary circuit of a new nuclear power plant in our country, which is preceded by a brief search of particular generations of nuclear reactors. The VVER-1200 reactor became the model for the new nuclear power plant. There was designed a heat diagram containing primary components in this work. After that, there was the balance calculation and calculation of parameters of the main devices of the proposed scheme such as condenser, low-pressure and high-pressure regeneration exchangers and steam generator.

Využití termických panelů pro zvýšení účinnosti chladiciho okruhu TČ / Utilization of thermal panels to increase the efficiency of the heat pump cooling circuit

Lainka, Pavel January 2016 (has links)
This thesis evaluates the connection of solar collectors with heat pump. The work demonstrates meaningful use of solar collector to increase cooling efficiency of the heat pump. Introduction The work introduces the reader to the issue and describes basic principles of the two main sources of energy used in the system - the heat pump and solar system. Next session is dedicated to analysis and evaluation of the data that was measured during system operation. A comparison of measured COP of the heat pump at two different modes of operation was used for the evaluation - with the help of the solar system and without using the solar system.

Holmgren, Robin, Hallenberg, Dante January 2016 (has links)
The study is conducted for Freezing Food Småland Öland AB. The purpose of the study was to propose measures to decrease the facility’s energy demand and to calculate the payback time for these suggestions. By means of using simulation software along with data from practical measurements different configurations in the facility were tested. The study resulted in suggestions consisting of an increase of the temperature in the freezing room and the temperature in LTB1.Those suggestions increases the facilities COP and decreases the energy consumption. Proposals to curb the ice growth are the insulation of components such as pipes and valves. Insulation results in a small decrease in energy demand but greatly increases the accessibility and also decreases the risk of corrosion. Through load tests conducted on the compressors it showed that the compressors were not driven in the optimal load range, suggestions were made for operation in a more favourable load range. Thus increasing the efficiency and cutting the maintenance costs. From the results it is shown that the facility is well built and dimensioned against thermal transmission. Though it turned out that the floor heating accounts for a disproportionate amount of the thermal transmission.

Sermeno Mena, Salvador 16 June 2015 (has links)
The increasing complexity of engine cooling systems results in added interactions and disturbances to the performance. Besides, non-propulsion loads (fan, water pump…) draw a significant percentage of the engine’s power thus lowering the vehicle’s fuel efficiency. Recent studies have shown that by controlling components the efficiency can be improved by adjusting fan speed according to cooling needs, coolant flow, and oil flow. Currently, the Volvo group in order to optimize the performance of their truck’s cooling systems had installed new thermal management components. However, problems were found while testing control strategies and a better understanding of the interaction between components is required to prevent this from happening again. In this work, the bond graph approach has been applied for the study of the cooling system of a Heavy duty vehicle and has enabled subsystem interactions to be identified. Based on a simplified model issued from the bond graph, several control strategies have been built. These controllers are based on different control approaches: model predictive control, flatness control, model free control and model free control with reduced order model. These controllers were implemented in a simulation platform in the Matlab/Simulink environment. Results of the implementation of the new advanced control strategies are given. Fuel economy gains ranged between 0.5 and 0.9 %. A structural analysis of the current architecture is also proposed aiming at the optimization of the system. Given the insights from the analysis, an assessment of new concepts for the cooling system architecture is proposed.
