Krizová připravenost Nemocnice ve Frýdku-Místku na vybrané mimořádné události / Crisis readiness of the hospital in Frydek - Mistek relating to selected extraordinary events.

ŠMÍDOVÁ, Monika January 2019 (has links)
The diploma thesis "Crisis readiness of the hospital in Frydek - Mistek relating to selected extraordinary events" deals with issues concerning current state of readiness of the Hospital in Frydek-Mistek for selected extraordinary events and the tries to create methods and approaches to improve the hospital's emergency preparedness. I chose mainly qualitative research with quantitative elements for answering research question. First step was random choice from hospitals in Moravian-Silesian Region, so I visited the hospital in Frydek-Mistek and I made data retrieval dealing with extraordinary events. Based on my own observations and the provided documents I detected an incorrect crisis preparedness plan and because it is important to have such an operative plan, which deals with extraordinary events and the inaccurate plan could place hospital to risk, I decided to revise the plan by using special methology, which is set up for this issue. Since the risks involved in the crisis preparedness plan were insufficient in my opinion, I conducted my own risk analysis of the external and internal environment focusing on hospital operation in risk. Then I used the "KARS" method, which is a qualitative risk analysis within its correlation. I determined the risks that should be resolved primarily and after that I revised the plan by using new knowledge. The result of the diploma thesis is a draft plan for crisis readiness of the hospital in Frydek - Mistek, which could be used and refilled by hospital managment alternatively. The plan will be handed over to the hospital management.

Traumatologická pripravenosť zdravotníckej záchrannej služby v Českej republike a v Slovenskej republike / Trauma readiness of emergency medical services in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic

BARNA, Alexander January 2019 (has links)
BARNA, Alexander: Trauma readiness of emergency medical services in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic [Diploma thesis]. University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. Lecturer: Mgr. Zuzana Freitinger-Skalická, Ph.D. The main topic of this work was the introduction of the issue of trauma readiness of the emergency medical service in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, the issue of emergency events with mass casualty incidents and the mapping of the knowledge and orientation of paramedical personnel in the emergency medical services. The diploma thesis is divided into two major parts - theory and research. The theoretical part introduces legislative norms, regulations and expert recommended procedures, based on which providers of emergency health services ensure their activity and crisis readiness, especially through crisis readiness workplaces. The chosen issue in the research part was the knowledge of the members of the emergency medical services groups solved by the quantitative method - a survey carried out by means of an anonymous non-standardized questionnaire, was prepared individually for the Czech Republic and for the Slovak Republic. From the results of the questionnaire survey it can be deduced that the knowledge of the members of the emergency medical service groups is sufficient, but there is still a need to incorporate the expertise and knowledge of the trauma readiness issues. Above all, finding deficiencies in knowledge, which are used to carry out rescue and liquidation work in dealing with emergency events, is particularly problematic.

Do Leaders Prioritise Crisis Preparedness? : A study of how leaders can affect the level of crisis preparedness in SMEs

Hussmann, Lena, Schippert, Jonna January 2019 (has links)
Background: Crisis and crisis management is a research topic that since the 1980s has gotten increasing amounts of attention in research. A crisis refers to an event that may have severe effects on an organisation's survival, making it important to know how to prepare for them. Interest in research about crisis preparedness has been growing. However, literature tends to focus on crisis preparedness in an MNE (Multinational Enterprises) context, thus, leaving out SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises). Nonetheless, SMEs are a large and crucial part of the economy that may equally, if not more, be affected by crises. In SMEs, the leader has a significant impact on the strategic decisions in the business, making them a crucial part of the crisis preparedness process and an important aspect to study. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to explore what factors could influence the way a leader prioritises to work with crisis preparedness in SMEs. Further, this research aims to understand how those priorities affect the level of crisis preparedness in SMEs. Method:  This study was conducted as a qualitative exploratory research in the form of a cross-sectional multiple case study. The data was collected through twelve semi-structured in-depth interviews, where all the participants were active as leaders in SMEs. The data collected in the interviews was subsequently analysed through a thematic analysis approach. Conclusion: It was found that besides the previously found external factors of SMEs, crisis preparedness is also influenced by the leader’s attitude about crisis preparedness. This attitude, in turn, is primarily formed through the leader’s understanding of crises and their personality. It was further found that the type of industry could be a factor in crisis preparedness due to for example, differing amounts of rules and regulations. In conclusion, the thesis was able to connect much of what has been found in previous research while adding a focus on the leader and their attitude about crisis preparedness.

Krishantering i skolan : En studie om hur skolan som helhet arbetar med krishantering. / Crisis management in schools : A study of the school as a whole is working with crisis management.

Vikberg, Victoria January 2014 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how the school as a whole is working with crisis management. The purpose includes examining the readiness of both school teachers and leisure educators when it comes to dealing with crises that children undergo and also to study how they best can provide support for those children. Accordingly, this thesis aims to provide an insight into what the school's work with crisis management might look like. The basis of this thesis consists of six qualitative interviews with a principal, a school counselor, two class teachers and two leisure educators.   The study shows that it is important to have a functioning crisis team and a well-made emergency preparedness plan, which the school in this study is considered to have. The crisis group is responsible throughout the crisis work, attends trainings and updates the emergency plan. It is also the crisis group's responsibility to ensure that the other staff knows about the emergency plan and its content and how they should proceed if a crisis were to occur. Some staff members participating in this study do not feel fully prepared to handle a crisis situation. However, it seems they have more knowledge of handling such situations than they think, since they know how to proceed if a crisis occurs. They also have good thoughts on how to support children who are in a crisis.

Plán připravenosti obce Borovany na Mimořádné události / Plan of the village Borovany to Emergencies.

NÝDL, Jan January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis analyzes the threats and risks that can occur in the administrative district of Borovany town and the preparedness of the municipality to face these undesirable elements. The result of this work, based on the crisis plan of ORP Trhové Sviny, is the Borovany's emergency law. The whole work consists of three basic parts. In the first theoretical part, we are dealing with valid legislation on emergency and crisis situations. Here are defined the most important concepts, such as risks, threats, integrated rescue system, emergency event, and crisis situation. When collecting and sorting data, I proceeded mainly by the factual-analytical method. I have consulted this problematics with experts in various fields. In the next part of my diploma thesis I deal with methodology of research focused on risk detection in the administrative district of Borovany. There is described a multi-criteria risk analysis of the crisis plan of the ORP Trhové Sviny, which is the source for this thesis. In a research part, the Borovany town is characterized, for which the plan is being prepared. The most important part of the diploma thesis is the Borovany risk analysis. Out of the total of 34 threats to ORP Trhové Sviny, 12 were identified that could arise in the administrative district of Borovany. By multi-criteria and SWOT analysis, it was found that the ORP Trhové Sviny crisis plans are too general and insufficient for the Borovany administrative district to prepare for emergency events. This conclusion is based on the SWOT analysis, where I detected threats that the crisis plan does not consider. In the next part, I analysed the identified threats by model action plans and I investigated the negative impacts on the inhabitants, the functioning of the municipality. I also planned the necessary measures for specific cases of emergency event. The result of the thesis is a proposal of the crisis preparedness plan of the Borovany town and the finding that Borovany town is not fully prepared for the current risks because the crisis plan of the ORP Trhové Sviny is too general and does not analyze all the threats that may arise here. The proposed plan should help the response to emergency events and crisis situations in the district and the created cards should make it easier to solve. The resulting proposed plan could become a template for other municipalities in solving and managing emergency events and crisis situations.

Att leda socialt arbete i skymningsläge och krig : En kvantitativ studie om enhetchefers perspektiv på krisberedskap på vård- och omsorgsboenden / Leading social work in grayzone and war : A quantitative study on first line managers' perspectives on crises preparedness in elder care facilities

Rasmusson, Amalia, Rasmusson, Sigrid January 2024 (has links)
The aim of this study was to examine the level of crisis readiness within the eldercare sector. Because of the worsened security landscape in the world, crisis readiness has become a focal point on the political agenda. The crisis we explore are the types of crisis that could follow a war or the grayzone between war and peace which in Swedish is called “skymningsläge”. The crisis we focus on in the study are power failure, crisis regarding water supply, food and medicin distribution and cyber-attacks. Our survey aimed to explore the new institutional theory to gain insights into the dynamics of social work within the context of crisis management, focusing on organizations' adaptability to new security challenges. By examining the responses of frontline managers, we sought to understand the impact the organizations have on the elder care facilities. Our findings showed discrepancies between municipal and private sectors with front line managers within the private sector demonstrating a culture of greater openness to make changes for improved crisis readiness. However, in terms of crisis readiness, no significant advantage was found for private facilities. By exploring the perspectives of the first line managers we could also understand what impact the organizations have on the managers situation. Our study also showed a correlation between training in crisis management and confidence in leading during crises. The survey also showed that the organizations has taken measures to develop crisis readiness after the pandemic to be more resilient.
