Thus, from the ethnography, the analysis undertaken here will seek, instead to "explain" the caiçara fandango in reference to a cultural background, show as its fandango transform and act on culture (transforming itself reciprocally), in a objectified way or not. It will therefore be essential for the work done an analysis of pessimism that we call structural with which fandangueiros face their own transformations engendered in their culture, claiming (almost) always that the fandango "it will be over". Will also be under scrutiny the public actions and private agents seeking "revitalize" and "rescue" Fandango, as the increasing heritage policies in recent decades in Brazil, the process by which the fandango was transformed into Intangible Cultural Heritage of Brazil, in 2011.

The aim of this study is to discuss the deletion of German language, culture and identity traces in Juiz de Fora city, Brazil. By means of ethnographic research, with semi-structured interviews, as well of documental research, and on Ecolinguistics theoretical basis (MUFWENE, 2001, 2008; COUTO, 2007, 2009), we investigate and reflect on the possible ecological aspects that influenced this linguistic and cultural deletion in the city during the adaptation process of the immigrants to the new land. Therefore, we believe that this deletion happened as a long and gradual process, influenced by several factors, including the hegemony of Portuguese language. Such a situation is quite different from what happened in other parts of Brazil, where there are visible marks of German varieties in their dialects (BORSTEL, 2011; PEREIRA, 2005), as well as many cultural heritages from the immigrants. In this sense, this work has the following main objectives: (i) to identify which varieties of German language arrived in Juiz de Fora; (ii) to trace the history of the linguistic contacts that took place in the city; (iii) to identify ecological factors that possibly influenced the deletion process of the varieties of the German language that arrived in Juiz de Fora. Thus, this study demonstrates how German immigrants German immigrants were taken to (re)construct their identities, leaving behind their origins and hence their linguistic and cultural heritages over time.

Kšinská, Anna January 2020 (has links)
The objective of this diploma thesis is to describe nowadays almost forgotten events in France during the Second World War, when the historical statues and monuments from the Third Republic in France are irretrievably destroyed because of melting non-ferrous metals used for arms-production in Nazi Germany. The key goal of the thesis is to mention some of the main decisions that led to the destruction of certain works and on the basis of that analysis consider to what extent the occupier contributed to their loss and to what extent their removal was inevitable. Within historical context, the first chapter introduces the period and ideas of the Third Republic until the arrival of the Vichy régime with its new ideals. The second chapter mentions expansion of sculpture of the Third Republic and statuomania. The development of the campaign for collection of non-ferrous metals and its actors are discussed in the third chapter. Afterwards this work presents specific decisions about the destruction of statues, based on religious, political and aesthetic subtext.
