Aim of the thesis The main aim of this thesis is an analysis breakouts by extraliga junior team, selection the most effective variant and their subsequent comparison with the Canadian national team to 20 years. Constituent part is to create a complete overview of the theoretical knowledge which can be used in the analysis breakouts. The analysis can serve as an inspiration for coaches of youth cathegory during training and acquisition in this phase of the game. Methods In the thesis tracking method was used, which was used in the analysis breakouts. The analysis was performed by using the method of direct observation of the game, but also indirect observation of video recordings provided by videocoaches or assistant coaches of selected teams. Results During analyzing domestic literature, it was found that it is not paid enough attention to the breakouts and there is no methodology developed compared to a foreign literature. Of the reporting teams and their variants for the breakout and development of the attack, three of the most effective were selected. For comparison, there were also mentioned variants of the breakouts of the Canadian national team under 20 years, which was followed at the World Cup to 20 years. The best breakouts from DHL Extraliga junior teams has HC Plzeň 1929, HC Sparta Praha...

How an Organization can Work better with their Suppliers DHL Express in Borås and their Recruitment Companies

Antonsson, Sigfrid January 2008 (has links)
When a project work was performed at DHL Express in Borås in spring 2007 the time of theprocesses at the terminal was measured. DHL Express in Borås is working with tworecruitment companies and the employees could therefore be divided into two groups; thepermanent employees and the hired employees. There were a slight difference in performancebetween these two groups of employees and it was then questioned if DHL Express in Boråsreally was working in the best way with the recruitment companies. The theories that were used in this thesis work was; complexity theories by Murray Gell-Mann, Game theory by John Forbes Nash and Lean. These three theories were used at thesame time to get the best outcome. The methods that were used was investigating the contracts between DHL Express and therecruitment companies, interviews with the employees at the tactical level that are in contactwith the recruitment companies in their daily work with base from the contracts, conversations and discussions with employees, pictures was also taken to document parts ofthe terminal at DHL Express in Borås.The result of the thesis work was that a “best-way-package” how DHL Express in Boråsshould work with the recruitment companies was set up. This “best-way-package” could beapplied on any terminal at DHL Express if wanted.

Tosterud, Susanna January 2007 (has links)

This essay aims at giving some insights in the complex relationship of increased greenhouse gases (GHG) in the atmosphere, the emission of carbon dioxide from the transport sector and different ways to decrease the contributions of heavy road transport to greenhouse gases. Road transport using heavy trucks is a large contributor to GHG. The objective of this study is to evaluate from a business perspective some existing alternatives for truck fuel and how these influence the total amount of GHG – emission. I have chosen to analyse if the commerce of carbon credits (Kyoto) could influence the speed of transition to alternative fuels. A comparison is presented including cost and environmental issues for the fuels such as ethanol and diesel.

Petroleum diesel is the dominant fuel used by heavy trucks and this is due to high costs and lack of availability of alternative fuel types.

The results show that a transition from diesel to alternative fuel is not possible in the near future unless a strong political control (steering, leadership) or big change on the conditions takes place. The actual price for emission rights is not high enough to influence a company’s choice of fuel if the transport sector would join the scheme. The price of emission rights needs to increase sharply in order to be able to influence the choice of fuel and technique. In the foreseeable future this is not a realistic event.

Transport companies with a long term strategy and a proactive environmental policy for transition to alternative fuels are seen as role models by customers and would also give a competitive advantage. My study shows that ethanol is a possible alternative to diesel if the transport sector can exploit its environmental, economical and social advantages.

The study also indicates that the current alternative fuel market is too weak for a change. A final solution for the transition to alternative fuel can occur either by a strong political leadership to the expense of higher transportation prices for customers or if a new competitive technology for alternative fuels will be viable. Of course, combinations of these alternatives are also possible.
/

Patent Portfolio BenchmarkingIn the Logistics Industry : Are Patents Relevant for Competitiveness in the Logistics Industry?

Stefan, Ioana January 2013 (has links)
The present Master thesis was written during an internship at Deutsche Post DHL Solutions& Innovations, a subsidiary of Deutsche Post DHL. The main purpose was to make a patent portfolio benchmark for the previously identified business competitors of the DPDHL group. The research questions aimed to find out how relevant the patent portfolio analysis is for comparing competitors and whether or not the results can be matched with other types of rankings. The benchmark was made using the PatentSight software tool. PatentSight allows the patent portfolio analysis of individual companies as well as groups of companies (competitors). The software tool is based on a new approach to benchmark patent portfolios called Patent Asset Index. This approach uses several indicators to measure the patent portfolios strengths. The indicators are based on relatively widely used measures of patent analysis such as the number of citations that a patent has received. However, these measures are further adjusted by the PatentSight indicators in order to prevent false results due to the difference in patents’ ages, for instance. The results of the patent portfolio benchmark and their comparison with other rankings have confirmed previous research findings that the patent portfolio analysis is a useful tool which can remove uncertainties and provide new perspectives but cannot be used as single indicator of the competitors’ strength.
