Efficacité d'une zone humide artificielle et d'une zone tampon forestière pour dissiper la pollution par les pesticides dans un bassin versant agricole drainé

Dans le cadre du projet européen LIFE ArtWET (06 ENV/F/000133), deux zones tampons (ZTs), une zone humide artificielle (ZHA) et une zone tampon forestière (ZTF), situées à Bray (France), ont été évaluées pour leur efficacité à réduire la pollution par les pesticides venant d'un bassin versant agricole drainé de 46 ha. Traiter l'ensemble des volumes n'étant pas possible, une bonne stratégie de traitement semble être de cibler les volumes les plus concentrés en pesticides. Les trois ans de données indiquent en moyenne une réduction d'au moins 40 % des concentrations et des charges en pesticides dans les deux ZTs, bien qu'une forte variabilité ait été notée. L'isoproturon, un herbicide mobile, a donné les résultats les plus contrastés. Des expérimentations de traçage ont permis d'estimer le temps de rétention hydraulique à 66.5 h dans la ZHA. Les retards observés sur le transfert des pesticides à travers des ZTs semblent dus à l'adsorption, bien que des phénomènes de désorption soient aussi suspectés. Des sédiments et des plantes de la ZHA ainsi que du sol et de la litière de la ZTF ont été prélevés. Sur ces substrats, des molécules marquées au 14C ont permis de suivre la dégradation de l'époxiconazole (fongicide) en systèmes eau/substrats ainsi que l'adsorption et la désorption de l'isoproturon, du metazachlore (herbicide) et de l'époxiconazole. A part pour les plantes, les coefficients d'adsorption (Koc) des trois molécules sont dans les valeurs hautes des gammes de valeurs publiées indiquant un fort potentiel des substrats de ces ZTs pour la rétention des pesticides. La désorption est très faible pour l'epoxiconazole, mais assez élevée pour le metazachlore et l'isoproturon. La minéralisation de l'epoxiconazole est faible et lente mais des métabolites ont été observés, indiquant une dégradation partielle. L'adsorption-desorption semble être un phénomène important, notamment pour les ZTs où le temps de résidence est faible, laissant ainsi peu de temps pour la dégradation des molécules.

Contribution à la modélisation des écoulements turbulent réactifs partiellement prémélangés

Ce mémoire de thése est consacré à la modélisation des écoulements turbulents réactifs dans des cas où les mélanges combustible-air peuvent ne pas être parfaitement prémélangés. Les hypothèses de Schvab-Zeldovich permettent alors d'utiliser seulement deux variables pour caractériser l'´etat thermochimique du mélange. Nous choisissons ici la fraction de mélange f pour décrire la composition des gaz frais et la fraction massique de combustible Y pour évaluer l'avancement de la réaction. L'analyse repose sur le formalisme LW-P, ici étendu au second ordre en proposant une PDF jointe des scalaires et de la vitesse composée de distributions de Dirac. Nous présentons également de nouvelles fermetures algébriques pour les termes de dissipation des fluctuations des quantités scalaires associés au mélange à petite échelle. L'analyse des effets des fluctuations de pression conduit à la proposition de nouvelles fermetures des équations pour les tensions de Reynolds et des flux turbulents scalaires. Ces fermetures prennent en compte les phénomènes de production de turbulence par les flammes et de diffusion non-gradient dans des cas partiellement prémélangés.<br />Les modèles développés ici sont implantés dans le logiciel de mécanique des fluides numérique Code-Saturne et validés en utilisant tout d'abord la configuration ORACLES du LCD puis la flamme en V turbulente étudiée expérimentalement au CORIA. Ces deux dispositifs expérimentaux permettent l'étude de la combustion partiellement prémélangée. Les simulations numériques de ces deux écoulements, utilisant le modèle LW-P, ont donné des résultats en bon accord avec les données expérimentales.

Flux and dissipation of energy in the LET theory of turbulence

The first part of this thesis examines and compares the separate closure formalisms of Wyld and Martin, Siggia, and Rose (MSR). The simplicity of Wyld’s perturbation scheme is offset by an incorrect renormalisation, this contrasts with the formally exact analysis of MSR. The work here shows that a slight change in Wyld’s renormalisation keeps the main results intact and, in doing so, demonstrates that this formalism is equivalent to MSR. The remainder of the thesis is concerned with turbulent dissipation. A numerical solution of the Local Energy Transfer theory, or LET, is reworked and extended to compute decaying and forced turbulence at large Reynolds numbers. Using this numerical simulation, the phenomenon of turbulent dissipation is investigated. In order to use decaying turbulence to study the turbulent dissipation rate as a function of Reynolds number, it is necessary to choose an appropriate time with which a measurement can be taken. Using phenomenological arguments of the evolution of a turbulent fluid, criteria for establishing such a time are developed. An important study in turbulence is the dissipation rate in the limit of vanishing viscosity, also known as the dissipation anomaly. This thesis derives an equation for the dissipation rate from the spectral energy balance equation. Using the LET computation for both decaying and forced turbulence, results are obtained that can be used along with the equation to study the mechanisms behind the dissipation anomaly. It is found that there is a difference in the behaviour of the normalised dissipation rate between decaying and forced turbulence and, for both cases, it is largely controlled by the energy flux.

Praćenje ostataka sulfonilurea u zemljištu u realnim uslovima primenom visoko-pritisne tečne hromatografije / Monitoring of residues of sulfonylurea in soil under real conditions by using high pressure liquid chromatography

<p>U okviru doktorske disertacije razvijena je brza i selektivna metoda za<br />određivanje i praćenje ostataka herbicida na bazi sulfonilurea (nikosulfuron,<br />oksasulfuron, tribenuron metil, tritosulfuron, triasulfuron, rimsulfuron i<br />prosulfuron) u zemlji&scaron;tu primenom visoko pritisne tečne hromatografije sa<br />UV detektor sa nizom fotoosetljivih dioda (HPLC-UV-DAD). Razdvajanje<br />sulfonilurea je izvedeno uz primenu Zorbax Eclipse XDB-C18 kolone. U cilju<br />definisanja odgovarajućih uslova analize, ispitan je i definisan uticaj<br />najznačajnijih eksperimentalnih faktora. Usvojeni su sledeći optimalni uslovi<br />gradijentne elucije: mobilna faza acetonitril (A) i 0,1% sirćetna kiselina (B) t<br />= 0 min, 52% A; t = 2-2,5 min, 47% A; t = 2,5-5 min, 52% A, pri konstatnom<br />protoku od 1 mL min-1 i temperaturi kolone od 250C. Na osnovu odziva<br />analitičkog signala, njegove reproduktivnosti i linearnosti, talasna dužina od<br />240 nm je usvojena kao odgovarajuća. Utvrđeno je da je uticaj matriksa bio<br />izražen te je stoga za kvantitativno određivanje sadržaja SU u uzorcima<br />zemlji&scaron;ta primenom HPLC-UV-DAD metode kori&scaron;ćena MMC kalibraciona<br />kriva. Pri analizi ekstrakata nekontaminiranog zemlji&scaron;ta ostvarena je granica<br />kvantitativnog određivanja za nikosulfuron, oksasulfuron, tribenuron metil,<br />tritosulfuron, triasulfuron, rimsulfuron i prosulfuron od 3,16 &mu;g kg-1, 3,40 &mu;g<br />kg-1, 3,76 &mu;g kg-1, 4,13 &mu;g kg-1, 3,60 &mu;g kg-1, 3,04 &mu;g kg-1 i 2,97 &mu;g kg-1,<br />redom. Za potrebe osetljivijih, selektivnijih i tačnijih određivanja SU u<br />zemlji&scaron;tu, definisana je metoda uz primenu tečne hromatografije sa<br />tandemskom masenom spektrometrijom (HPLC-MS-MS). HPLC-MS-MS je<br />kori&scaron;ćena kao referntna tehnika za proveru rezultata koji su dobijeni<br />primenom HPLC uz UV-DAD detektor. Definisan je efikasan postupak za<br />pripremu uzoraka zemlji&scaron;ta u cilju hromatografskog određivanja SU.<br />Najefikasnija ekstrakcija ostvarena je primenom sme&scaron;e dihlormetanacetonitril<br />(2:1, v/v), zaki&scaron;eljene sirćetnom kiselinom (0,8%, v/v), uz dodatak<br />uree (0,3 g/ 10g zemlji&scaron;ta). Postupak mikrotalasne estrakcije u zatvorenom<br />sistemu omogućio je najbolje uslove za ekstrakciju SU. U cilju izdvajanja SU,<br />iz matriksa ekstrakata zemlji&scaron;ta, primenjena je ekstrakcija na čvrstoj fazi (SPE) sa silika gelom kao adsorbensom. Definisana metoda za određivanje<br />ispitivanih SU, kao i razvijeni postupak pripreme uzoraka, uspe&scaron;no je<br />primenjen u analizi realnih uzoraka zemlji&scaron;ta. Veoma dobre vrednosti testa<br />povrata ostvarene pri analizi primenom HPLC-UV-DAD metode, potvrdile su<br />pre svega ispravnost postupka pripreme uzoraka, a delom i kompletne<br />metode. Tačnost razvijene metode za određivanje SU u zemlji&scaron;tu potvrđena je<br />paralelnim analizama uzoraka zemlji&scaron;ta kori&scaron;ćenjem HPLC-MS-MS.<br />Primenom Studentovog t-testa (upareni), utvrđeno je da se rezultati paralelnih<br />analiza statistički značajno ne razlikuju (P=95%). Istraživanja u okviru<br />disertacije obuhvatila su i praćenje disipacije nikosulfurona, rimsulfurona,<br />oksasulfurona i prosufurona u različitim komercijalnim dozama primene<br />tokom 50 dana u polju na tri različite dubine (0-15 cm, 15-30 cm i 30-45 cm),<br />kao i laboratorijskim uslovima na dve temperature (250C i 300C). Vreme<br />polurazgradnje (DT50) ispitivanih SU (nikosulfuron, oksasulfuron i<br />prosulfuron) definisano Mitttag-Lefler-ovom funkcijom u ogledima u<br />laboratorijskim uslovima na 250C iznosilo je 0,65 dana (50 g ha-1 a.k.), 0,64<br />dana (160 g ha-1 a.k.) i 0,66 dana (30 g ha-1 a.k.), redom, a na 300C za<br />nikosulfuron 0,20 dana (50 g ha-1 a.k.) i prosulfuron 0,49 dana (50 g ha-1 a.k.).<br />DT50 za ispitivane SU u polju, takođe definisano Mitttag-Lefler-ovom<br />funkcijom, iznosilo je 72 minuta (0,05 dana), 0,23 dana, 0,12 dana i 0,15<br />dana, za nikosulfuron, rimsulfuron, oksasulfuron i prosulfuron, redom.<br />Značajno veća disipacija koja je utvrđena istraživanjima u okviru ove<br />disertacije najverovatnije je uzrokovana uticajem abiotičkih i biotičkih<br />procesa, kao i faktora spolja&scaron;nje sredine.</p> / <p>In this thesis a fast and selective method for determination and monitoring<br />of residues sulfonylurea herbicides (SU) (nicosulfuron, oxasulfuron,<br />tribenuron methyl, tritosulfuron, triasulfuron, rimsulfuron and prosulfuron)<br />in soil, by applying high-performance liquid chromatography with UV<br />detector with diode array diodes (HPLC-UV-DAD) was developed. The<br />separation of the sulfonylurea was performed by use of a Zorbax Eclipse<br />XDB-C18 column. In order to define appropriate conditions of analysis,<br />the influence of the most significant the experimental factors was<br />investigated and defined. The following optimal conditions for gradient<br />elution: mobile phase acetonitrile (A) and 0.1% acetic acid (B) t = 0 min,<br />52% A; t = 2-2.5 min, 47% A; t = 2.5-5 min, 52% A were adopted at a<br />constant flow rate of 1 mL min-1 and column temperature of 250C. On<br />basis of the response of the analytical signal, its reproducibility and<br />linearity, the wavelength of 240 nm was adopted as an appropriate. The<br />influence of the matrix was expressed and therefore for the quantitative<br />determination of investigated SU in soil samples application of HPLCUV-<br />DAD methods was used MMC calibration curve. In the analysis of<br />extracts of nocontaminated soil limits of quantitation for nicosulfuron,<br />oxasulfuron, tribenuron methyl, tritosulfuron, triasulfuron, rimsulfuron and<br />prosulfuron was achieved 3.16 &mu;g kg-1, 3.40 &mu;g kg-1, 3.76 &mu;g kg-1, 4.13 &mu;g<br />kg-1, 3.60 &mu;g kg-1, 3.04 &mu;g kg-1 and 2.97 &mu;g kg-1, respectively. The method<br />by using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MSMS)<br />was defined in order to find more sensitive, more selective and more<br />accurate way to determine concentration SU in soil. HPLC-MS-MS was<br />used as the reference technique for checking results that have been<br />obtained by HPLC with UV-DAD detector. An efficient procedure<br />preparation of soil samples for the purpose chromatographic determination<br />of SU was defined. Using a mixture of dichloromethane-acetonitrile (2: 1,<br />v / v), acidified with acetic acid (0.8%, v / v), with the addition of urea (0.3<br />g / 10 g soil) was applied as the most effective way for extraction SU.<br />Microwave extraction process in a closed system allowed the best<br />conditions for the extraction of SU. In order to extract SU from matrix<br />exctracts soil the solid phase the extraction (SPE) with silica gel as an<br />adsorbent was used. The defined method for determination of investigated SU, as well as the developed procedure of sample preparation, was<br />successfully applied in the analysis of real samples of soil. The correctness<br />of procedure of sample preparation was confirmed with very good values<br />of recovery test which was applied in the analysis by using HPLC-UVDAD.<br />The accuracy of the developed method for determination of SU was<br />confirmed by coupled analysis soil samples using HPLC-MS-MS. The<br />results of parallel analysis does not differ significantly at 95% confidence<br />level. It was obtained using Student t-test (paired). The method developed<br />in this thesis was used for monitoring the dissipation of nicosulfuron,<br />rimsulfuron, oxasulfuron prosufuron, in different commercial doses of<br />application during 50 days in field at three different depths (0-15 cm, 15-<br />30 cm and 30-45 cm) and for laboratory conditions at two temperatures<br />(25&ordm;C and 30&ordm;C). The half-life time (DT50) of investigated SU were<br />calculated by use of Mitttag-Lefler function in experiments under<br />laboratory conditions at 25&ordm;C. The values of DT50 for nicosulfuron,<br />prosufuron and oxasulfuron read: 0.65 days (50 g ha-1 a.k.), 0.64 days (160<br />g ha-1 a.k.) and 0.66 days (30 g ha-1 a.k.), respectively. In the same type of<br />experiments at 30&ordm;C we get DT50 for nicosulfuron equals 0.20 days (50 g<br />ha-1 a.k.) and for prosulfuron equals 0.49 days (50 g ha-1 a.k.). The values<br />of DT50 on experiments in field were obtain also by use of Mitttag-Lefler&#39;s<br />function, and half-life times for nicosulfuron, rimsulfuron, oxasulfuron and<br />prosufuron from the commercially recommended doses, equal 72 minutes<br />(0.05 days), 0.23 days, 0.12 days and 0.15 days, respectively. Significantly<br />greater dissipation which was determined in this thesis was probably<br />caused by the influence of abiotic and biotic processes as well as<br />environmental factors.</p>

The effects of sea ice on the tides in the Kitikmeot Sea: results using year–long current meter data from Dease Strait and tidal models

We examine the tides in the Kitikmeot Sea using year-long time-series from moored instrumentation in Dease Strait, and a 3D barotropic numerical tidal model of the region. The in-situ data show strong tidal damping during wintertime seasonal sea ice cover, with a 50-60% reduction in M2 and K1 tidal elevation and 65% reduction in M2 and K1 tidal velocities at the sea ice maximum. We hypothesize the damping largely occurs in Victoria Strait, the eastern gateway of the Kitikmeot Sea, where tidal-induced ridging causes thick, rough ice to accumulate over its shallow sill. Using the numerical model, FVCOM, we independently vary sea ice friction and sea ice thickness, and show that the observed wintertime tidal damping likely requires both very rough ice and a partial sea ice blockage in the sill region. Analysis of the model shows different dynamics and dissipation of the dominant M2 and K1 tides. Both M2 and K1 tides are dominated by the Atlantic tides entering through Victoria Strait. Arctic tides, entering from the west, have a minor, but significant, contribution to the M2 tide. Overall, the K1 tide, after 19% dissipation in Victoria Strait and 24% in adjoining bays, propagates far into the region and behaves as a Helmholtz resonator in Dease Strait and Coronation Gulf. In contrast, 92% of the M2 tidal energy does not reach Dease Strait because, in addition to dissipation in Victoria Strait (29%), it is significantly diverted into adjoining bays and around an amphidrome in eastern Queen Maud Gulf. The K1 tide, with double the wavelength of the M2 tide, is less diverted. / Graduate / 2020-07-22

Considerações sobre a hidráulica de vertedores em degraus: metodologias adimensionais para pré-dimensionamento / Considerations about the hydraulic of stepped spillways: nondimensional methodologies for preliminary design

Neste trabalho apresenta-se uma avaliação do estado da arte de aspectos hidráulicos relacionados aos vertedores em degraus submetidos aos diferentes regimes de escoamento. Em uma segunda parte, é sugerida uma metodologia adimensional e simplificada para o pré-dimensionamento do comprimento de bacias de dissipação por ressalto hidráulico, além de uma abordagem conceitual voltada ao escoamento sobre um degrau. Entre os tópicos tratados na avaliação do estado da arte, pode-se citar, por exemplo, a dissipação de energia promovida pelos degraus, o risco de cavitação, a aeração do escoamento, o uso de aeradores de fundo e geometrias não convencionais. Quanto à metodologia desenvolvida, fundamentada na segunda lei do movimento de Newton associada à equação de Darcy-Weisbach, apresenta-se algumas comparações com dados experimentais de diferentes pesquisadores, além de exemplos de aplicação. Foi possível concluir, com a avaliação do estado da arte, que há um interesse crescente pelo conhecimento das características hidráulicas de vertedores em degraus. Através da metodologia desenvolvida, graças às comparações com dados experimentais de diferentes pesquisadores, foi possível concluir que não há um consenso absoluto sobre a magnitude do fator de resistência de Darcy-Weisbach. Com os exemplos de aplicação apresentados, notou-se que para um mesmo problema, o uso de diferentes métodos pode conduzir a projetos significativamente diferentes. / This work presents a state-of-the-art evaluation of aspects related hydraulic to stepped spillways submitted to the different flow regimes. In a second part, it is suggested a dimensionless and simplified methodology for preliminary design of the stilling basin length, besides a conceptual approach related to the free fall hydraulics. Among topics treaties in the state-of-the-art evaluation, it can cite, for example, the energy dissipation promoted by the steps, incipient cavitation, the air entrainment, the use of bottom aerator and unconventional geometries. Regarding the developed methodology, based in the Newton\'s law of motion associate to Darcy-Weisbach equation, it presents some comparisons with experimental data of different researchers, besides application examples. It was possible to conclude, with the state-of-the-art evaluation, that there is an increasing interest for hydraulics characteristic of stepped spillways knowledge. Through the developed methodology, after comparisons with experimental data of different researchers, was possible to conclude that there is not an absolute consensus about the Darcy-Weisbach friction factor magnitude. With the application examples, it noticed that for a same problem, the different methods use can lead for significantly different designs.

Avaliação das tensões geradas nos componentes protéticos de próteses obturadoras maxilares classe I, II e IV de Aramany por meio de análise de elementos finitos / Evaluation of stress generated in maxillar obturators prosthesis of class I, II and IV of Aramany in Finite Element Analysis

O tratamento cirúrgico do câncer bucal pode resultar em graves sequelas das estruturas anatômicas envolvidas na fisiologia da cavidade bucal. A extensão e a localização da ressecção cirúrgica, assim como a condição dental, são determinantes do planejamento da prótese obturadora. Este trabalho emprega a Análise de Elementos Finitos para o estudo do comportamento biomecânico de próteses obturadoras maxilares Classe I, II e IV de Aramany, em um modelo digital desenvolvido a partir de uma TC de um indivíduo adulto. O modelo tridimensional desenvolvido no programa Rhinoceros® versão 4.0 foi utilizado para a geração da malha de elementos finitos no programa Ansys Workbench 14.0®. Uma força de 120 N foi aplicada nas plataformas oclusal e incisal, correspondentes aos dentes posteriores e anteriores das próteses obturadoras, para observação das tensões geradas sobre as próteses obturadoras. Os resultados são apresentados sob a forma de análise qualitativa, indicada pelo estudo de Tensão Máxima Principal para as estruturas acrílicas da prótese e estudo de Von Mises para as estruturas metálicas da prótese, e análise quantitativa, representada por valores em Mega Pascal (MPa). Tanto nos carregamentos posteriores como nos carregamentos anteriores, foram observadas dissipações de cargas significativas localizadas na placa palatina próxima a ressecção e na junção do metal com o acrílico, sendo os maiores valores alcançados na placa de retenção metálica para retenção do acrílico localizada posteriormente na condição de carregamento posterior em ordem crescente na Classe II de Aramany com 149,17 MPa, Classe I de Aramany com 344,08 MPa e Classe IV de Aramany alcançando valor de 390,25 MPa. No acrílico da prótese obturadora, no caso de Classe I de Aramany em carregamento posterior, foi observada uma concentração de tensão principal na região correspondente ao limite lateral e anterior da junção da placa de retenção e do acrílico no valor de 19,796 MPa de tração. Na Classe IV de Aramany em carregamento posterior, foi observada uma concentração de tensão na região posterior da junção da placa de retenção e do acrílico no valor de 18,33 MPa. Na Classe II de Aramany, em carregamento posterior foi observada uma concentração de tensão na região anterior próxima ao limite da ressecção anterior no valor de 25,45 MPa de tração. Concluiu-se que os valores quantitativos alcançados neste estudo parecem não apresentar riscos de fratura sobre a armação metálica de liga de CrCo, porem podem apresentar riscos de falha na retenção metal/acrílico da prótese obturadora maxilar. A configuração de placa de recobrimento palatino proporciona uma melhor distribuição das tensões ao longo de sua superfície. / The surgical treatment of oral cancer may result in severe sequel of the anatomical structures involved in oral physiology. The extension and location of surgical resection, as well as the dental condition, determine the prosthetic planning of the obturator prostheses. This study employs the finite elements analysis to evaluate the biomechanical behavior of Aramany Class I,II andIV obturator prostheses, in a digital model developed from a computerized tomography of an adult individual. A tridimensional model was constructed applying the software Rhinoceros® version 4.0 and then it was used to develop the finite element mesh in the software Ansys Workbench 14.0 ®. A 120 N load was applied to the occlusal and incisal surfaces correspondent to the prosthetic teeth. The qualitative analysis was based on Principal Maximum stress and the quantitative analysis was expressed in Mega Pascal values. The configuration of palatal plate coating provides a better stress distribution along its surface.
