Previous issue date: 2009 / Resumo: Apresentamos a força de Ampère entre elementos de corrente e discutimos detalhadamente as grandezas que aparecem nesta lei. Analisamos o caminho percorrido por Ampère para chegar na sua força entre elementos de corrente. Mostramos suas primeiras experiências, as formulações iniciais de sua força, as experiências de Biot e Savart, assim como a in u¿encia da experiência da rotação contínua de Faraday na determinação do valor final da força entre elementos de corrente de Ampère. Apresentamos os diversos casos de equilíbrio introduzidos por Ampère e sua relevância metodológica na obtenção de leis quantitativas na física. Mostramos as contribuições de Savary na elaboração das consequências quantitativas da força de Ampère e o impacto que elas tiveram sobre Biot, Savart e Ampère. Discutimos alguns dos principais trabalhos, cartas e manuscritos de Ampère, desde 1820 até sua obra máxima de 1826, o Théorie des Phénomènes Électro-dynamiques, Uniquement Déduite de l¿Expérience. Apresentamos uma tradução completa desta obra e das notas que a acompanham. / Abstract: We present Ampère¿s force between current elements and discuss in detail the magnitudes which appear in this law. We analyze the trajectory followed by Ampère in order to obtain his force between current elements. We show his first experiments, the initial formulations of his force, the experiments of Biot and Savart, and the in uence of Faraday¿s experiment of uninterrupted rotation in the determination of the final value of Ampère¿s force between current elements. We present the several cases of equilibrium introduced by Ampère and their methodological relevance in order to obtain quantitative laws in physics. We show the contributions of Savary for the elaboration of the quantitative consequences of Ampère¿s force and the impact they had upon Biot, Savart and Ampère. We discuss some of the main works, letters and manuscripts of Ampère, from 1820 until his masterpiece of 1826, the Théorie des Phénomènes Électro-dynamiques, Uniquement Déduite de l¿Expérience. La revue Art d’aujourd’hui paraît de juin 1949 à décembre 1954, constituant une somme de trente-six numéros. Créée pour défendre et promouvoir l’abstraction géométrique et la synthèse des arts, elle s’inscrit dans un ensemble d’actions dont l’objectif principal est de rendre l’avant-garde accessible au plus grand nombre. Pour cela, elle bénéficie notamment de la collaboration de critiques influents des années cinquante.A partir des apports propres à Art d'aujourd'hui (son contenu – textes, illustrations, mise en pages -, ses archives, ses rédacteurs, les témoins vivants), nous abordons ensuite plus largement la problématique du rôle social qui peut être donné à la création plastique des Trente Glorieuses à nos jours. Qu'en est-il en effet aujourd'hui des objectifs de cette revue : l'art dans le quotidien, l'enseignement de l'art dans le milieu scolaire et la prise en compte des publics dans les musées d'art moderne et contemporain ? / The review Art d'aujourd'hui was published between June 1949 and December 1954, amounting to thirty-six issues. Created to defend and promote geometric abstraction and the synthesis of the arts, the review was one of a range of activities whose main objective was to make the avant-garde accessible to everyone. To that end, the review benefited from the collaboration of the most well-known and important art critics of the fifties.Following the analysis of the specific attributes of Art d'aujourd'hui (its content – texts, illustration, and composition; its archives, its writers and the testimony of witnesses), this thesis tackles the broader question of the social role of the plastic arts during the period from the so-called Trente Glorieuses to the present day. What today are the goals of Art d'aujourd'hui: art in daily life, the teaching of art at school, and the acknowledgement of the public for museums of contemporary and modern art?

La recherche se focalise sur l’étude comparative de l’érotisme dans deux romans : La Marge d’André Pieyre de Mandiargues et La Pornographie de Witold Gombrowicz. Conformément à la nouvelle approche comparative (Apter, Casanova, Moretti) et dans une perspective culturelle et littéraire, le projet explore la façon dont l’érotisme peut être entendu (ou malentendu) dans l’histoire des idées, dans la critique littéraire et dans les œuvres littéraires. À partir d’une enquête épistémologique, de l’histoire contrastive du contexte littéraire franco-polonais et des enjeux critiques développés par Bataille, Foucault, Barthes et Deleuze, le projet montre les différences culturelles dans la représentation de l’érotisme littéraire. En outre, il compare la façon dont Mandiargues et Gombrowicz défendent la nécessité et le danger de l’érotisme dans la littérature, à travers leur écriture critique. Enfin, grâce à l’analyse des deux romans, l’étude tend à expliquer la dynamique de l’érotisme littéraire compris comme un thème tantôt descriptif tantôt narratif. Les deux romans montrent comment le rêve érotique peut être exploré à travers la temporalité narrative ou à travers l’espace et, par conséquent, comment ils peuvent conduire à des interprétations photographiques ou cinématographiques. Cette recherche vise à mettre en évidence le rôle de ces écrivains dans une discussion sur l’ars erotica contemporain dans la littérature mondiale et cherche à encourager l’étude de l’érotisme dans la littérature comparée. / The research focuses on the comparative study of eroticism in two novels: The Margin by André Pieyre de Mandiargues and Pornografia by Witold Gombrowicz. Following the new comparative approach (Apter, Casanova, Moretti) from a cultural and literary perspective, the project explores the ways in which eroticism can be understood (or misunderstood) in the history of ideas, in literary criticism and finally in literary works. Starting from an epistemological inquiry, the contrasting literary histories of Poland and France and theoretical approaches developed by Bataille, Foucault, Barthes and Deleuze, the project shows the cultural differences in representing eroticism in literature. Furthermore it compares how Mandiargues and Gombrowicz defend the necessity and the danger of eroticism in literature through their critical writing. Finally, thanks to a deep textual analysis of the two novels, the study seeks to explain the dynamics of literary eroticism understood as a theme that is either descriptive or narrative. The two novels show how the erotic dream can be explored through narrative temporality or space and consequently lead to photographical or cinematographical interpretations. This research intends to highlight the role of these writers in the discussion of contemporary ars erotica in global literature and to encourage the study of eroticism in comparative literature.

The aim of the essay is to problematize the main characters' conception of identity in André Aciman's novel Call Me by Your Name. Due to Elio's inability to see himself and Oliver as continuously constructing and shifting bodies, the essay claims that the end of their relationship as they knew it during their summer in Italy was inevitable. By employing a critical discourse analysis and deconstructive approach, the way the characters position themselves during and after that summer is examined and critiqued. It is found that what contributes to the end of their relationship is their struggle with the multitude of aspects of their identities that are considered to be flaws or insufficiencies. Therefore, certain interests and aspects of their lives are kept a secret. In consequence, this secrecy hinders a full understanding of the other and reveals their idealization as wishful thinking, rather than reality.

Der aus Quakenbrück (Münsterland) gebürtige Jurist Heinrich Friedrich Wilhelm André (1827 – 1903), von 1874 bis 1896 Oberbürgermeister der sächsischen Industriemetropole Chemnitz, hat wesentlichen Anteil an der Schaffung des deutschen Reichspatentgesetzes. In Zusammenarbeit mit Werner Siemens und unterstützt durch einen speziellen Ausschuss des VDI konnte zunächst ein „Entwurf eines Patentgesetzes für das Deutsche Reich“ erstellt werden Dieser regelte den Gegenstand des Patentschutzes und das Erteilungsverfahren, die Aufgaben der Patentbehörden (Patentamt und Reichsoberhandelsgericht) sowie mögliche Rechtsstreitigkeiten. Die Vorlage dieses Entwurfs auf der Patentkonferenz auf der Wiener Weltausstellung (1873) unter Vorsitz von Dr. Charles William Siemens, einem der Siemens-Brüder, beförderte die baldige internationale Verständigung über den Patentschutz.
Im Mai 1874 erfolgte daraufhin die Gründung des Deutschen Patentschutzvereins, gefolgt vom Erlass des Markenschutzgesetzes und des Musterschutzgesetzes (1876). 1876 veröffentlichte der Verein den Entwurf für ein Deutsches Patentgesetz. Nachdem die Landesregierungen ihr Einverständnis erklärt hatten, die kaiserlichen Genehmigungen sowie die Billigung von Bundesrat und Reichstag vorlagen, wurde das Gesetz und am 25. Mai 1877 schließlich verkündet. Am 1. Juli 1877 trat das 45 Paragraphen umfassende Gesetzeswerk in Kraft.
Dr. André engagierte sich auch fürderhin in Sachen Patentwesen und Gesetzeswerk, nahm wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen vor und sorgte für juristische Präzisierung und Vervollständigung, so dass am 7. April 1891 ein neues Patentgesetz erlassen werden konnte. In Anerkennung dieser Leistungen urteilte das amerikanische Journal of the Patent Office Society: „It can not be gainsaid that the German patent system was the finest in the world.“ / The jurist André Heinrich Friedrich Wilhelm (1827 - 1903), born in Quakenbrück (Münsterland) and from 1874 to 1896 Lord Mayor of the industrial city of Chemnitz, Saxony, played a major role in the creation of the Patent Law of the German Reich. In collaboration with Werner Siemens and supported by a special committee of the VDI at first he drew up a "Draft Patent Law for the German Reich". It regulated the subject of patent protection and the granting procedure, the tasks of the patent office (Patent Office and the Reich Chief Commercial Court) and possible litigation. The presentation of this draft at the Vienna World Exhibition Conference (1873) under the chairmanship of Dr. Charles William Siemens, one of the Siemens brothers, promoted the upcoming national and international understanding of patent protection.
The German Patent Protection Association was founded in May 1874. It was followed by the enactment of the Trademark Act and the Design Protection Act (1876). In 1876 the Association published a draft of a German patent law. After the regional governments had given their consent, there were royal approvals and the approval of the Bundesrat and the Reichstag. The law was announced on 25th of May 1877. On 1st July 1877 the comprehensive piece of legislation with 45 paragraphs came into force.
From then onwards Andre was also involved in matters regarding the patent system and its legislation, undertook scientific studies and provided legal clarification and completion. On 7th of April 1891 a new patent law was adopted. In recognition of this achievment the Journal of the American Patent Society Office acclaimed: "It can not be gainsaid that the German patent system was the finest in the world."
