Un contexte concurrentiel exacerbé sur les marchés du sport, une baisse tendancielle des aides publiques et de ouvelles attentes des consommateurs obligent les fédérations sportives olympiques à faire évoluer leurs modèles économiques. Tiraillées entre la nécessité d’être performantes en résultats sportifs lors des grands rendez-vous planétaires couverts par les médias, notamment les Jeux Olympiques, et celle de la promotion du sport pour tous afin d’augmenter leur nombre de licenciés, les fédérations olympiques sont à la recherche de nouveaux leviers de développement et de compétitivité.L’ambition de cette thèse est d’analyser la façon dont elles sont en mesure d’adopter une démarche marketing au service de leurs stratégies de développement dans un environnement concurrentiel. Comment positionner la fédération ? Comment fidéliser les licenciés et en faire des fans ? Comment attirer des prospects et notamment de nouveaux spectateurs ? Comment valoriser l’image fédérale auprès des partenaires et des médias ?Sur la base d’une typologie des fédérations olympiques, nous avons analysé comment chaque type de fédération mobilise le modèle classique du marketing commercial de façon différenciée. Cela nous a amené à les évaluer face à la nécessité de se transformer en véritables marques pour être en mesure de construire une relation affective et émotionnelle avec les consommateurs (pratiquants licenciés, spectateurs, partenaires) qui dépasse le simple usage du produit. Mais, l’héritage d’une éthique associative et bénévole plus ou moins prégnantes chez les élus, peut apparaître comme un obstacle à une politique de marque fédérale.C’est pourquoi nous proposons des modèles de développement différenciés selon les types de fédérations, déclinant et adaptant les étapes classiques du plan marketing en fonction des spécificités de chacun. Coincées entre une éthique utilitariste (moteur de la réussite sur le marché) par nature commerciale et une éthique associative (qui fonde leur légitimité) centrée sur les différentes modalités de pratique, les fédérations n’ont pas d’autres choix que celui du compromis en s’engageant à la fois vers une logique managériale d’entreprise (en s’ouvrant à l’expertise marketing et à la rentabilité économique) et en préservant leur spécificité culturelle qui est leur socle de positionnement. L’apport de la thèse se trouve dans cette modélisation différenciée car toutes les fédérations n’ont pas les mêmes capacités de s’ouvrir à la concurrence commerciale.L’organisation des Jeux Olympiques à Paris en 2024 ouvre une période passionnante à la fois sur le plan sportif et économique dont un des enjeux sera sans doute aussi de mesurer son impact sur le modèle de développement des fédérations sportives olympiques françaises. / The tougher current competitive environment, the decreasing trend in public subsidies and the new consumer expectations of sports activities are forcing the business models of Olympic sports federations to evolve.Split apart between the need to deliver successful performances at world events, notably the Olympic games, in order to project an attractive image thanks to the media coverage and that of the of promoting the sport for everyone in order to increase membership, Olympic federations seek new competitive leavers.The ambition of this research has been to study the way in which they integrate competitive positioning marketing initiatives in their development strategy.How to increase members’ loyalty? How to attract more spectators and fans? How to assert the Federation brand worth for their partners and the media? We have analysed how Olympic federations, very different from each other, apply classic marketing models differently.This has lead us to deem the sports federations as brands in their own right, in relation to what they aim to build as an emotional relationship (members, spectators, partners) which goes beyond mere usage of the product.But, the ethics of what should be an Association and the mind set of being a benevolent institution, ingrained in the federations DNA to varying degrees but still very prevalent amongst their elected executive, is a hindrance to the building of a genuine Federation brand.This is why we have proposed, based on three different types of federations, different development models using classical marketing stages.Caught in-between a utilitarian ethic (and therefore of a commercial nature) and the ethics of an association (closer to the ethics of sport), the federations have no other alternative than to embrace a business attitude, opening their organisations to a marketing approach, economic viability and managerial efficiency whilst taking into account the different specific requirements of their sport on the marketing matrix.The planning of the Paris Olympic Games in 2024 welcomes a passionate period where one of the stakes will be to measure its impact over the development model of the federations.

<p>This paper describes the evolutionary development of an information system for a small company. The company performs overhaul of forklifts and cleaning machines. The company has already an information system that handles the reports from these overhauls but it needs a supplementary tool that assist the chief planner to plan forthcoming overhauls.</p><p>It should be able to display coming overhauls in a timetable and eventually print them, either to a PDF file or to a document. The timetables this function produces will help the chief planner and the assemblers to get a good overview of their day-to-day work.</p><p>The tool needs to be intelligent in that way that it takes into consideration were in the country different assignments will be performed. So that time consuming travels over great distances can be avoided. This coordination will lead to higher profitability for the company and more satisfied customers.</p><p>The paper contains theoretic background about what models and methods that are used in the development of an information system. This theoretic background is then used when developing a system in practise and the result of this is then showed. In the end the results are compared to the demands, goals and requirements stated in the beginning of the paper, to see if they are fulfilled.</p><p>This is a degree thesis at the S c ho o l o f E n gineering, Jö nkö pin g U niversity. This thesis deals with software testing and its possible automation and compares the pros and cons of automated testing with manual testing. In the automated approach is introduced tool for automated testing HP QuickTest Professional (HP QTP). The main objective is to analyze the advantages of using this tool in conditions of a real project, based on predefined criteria. In the theoretical section I introduce basic terms within the field of software testing and identify testing in the software development process. A comparison of manual and automated approach to software testing and introduction of tool HP QTP for automated tests follows. Target of practical part is to analyze the advantages of automation by using HP QTP on a real project according to defined criteria and recommend for what conditions the automation in this case worthwhile. In the practical part is also created manual which describing the basic functionality of HP QTP, which is demonstrated on examples. Manual, which is also the output of this work, has to help testers to quickly understand the work with this tool and therefore better plan process of tests automation.

Implications of the School Improvement Engine for Teacher Retention and School Organizational HealthDiGaudio, Lisa M. 01 January 2017 (has links)
Teachers working in urban schools in the United States are among those most at-risk for leaving the profession due to poor working conditions and lack of collegial relationships with school leaders and peers, among other factors. Use of professional development tools, such as the School Improvement Engine (SIE), may improve teacher retention and school organizational health; however, little research exists on the use of the SIE in charter schools. The purpose of this case study was to investigate New York City (NYC) school data on teacher retention and student achievement, how NYC charter school leaders participating in the program implemented the SIE, and how teachers and administrators perceived the impact of the implementation on their individual growth and desire to stay in their positions. Peter Senge's organizational learning theory was used to examine how SIE tools may promote a healthy organization in 5 areas (systems thinking, personal mastery, mental models, building shared vision, and team learning). Teacher retention and student achievement archived data for NYC schools were descriptively analyzed. Individual interviews were conducted with a purposeful sample of 10 teachers and 4 school leaders from NYC charter schools implementing the SIE. Interview data were analyzed using open coding to identify key themes. Results indicated that SIE schools outperformed other NYC schools (charter and public) in English Language Arts (ELA), math, and teacher retention. Participants stated that tools like peer review helped them to become more effective in their teaching. Positive social change impacts include providing data that support the use of the SIE to improve teacher effectiveness, teacher retention, and the overall school organizational health.

Successful product development has been a fundamental part of many of today's companies and their continued prosperity depends on continuing to develop new products in the future. There are many models of product development. The two most common classes of development are market pull (MP) and technology push (TP). TP product development differs from MP in that the development begins with a specified technology rather than a specified customer. Because TP development is generally considered more difficult and challenging, most of the product development research has focused on MP development and many researchers and practitioners favor MP development over TP development. However, successful TP development has been shown to be a source of innovation that cannot be realized through MP development and is performed by many companies. The research in this thesis focuses on developing a comprehensive TP model to guide product developers on how to implement TP development successfully. This new TP model is developed by comparing recently published TP models to published best practices of TP development and known deficiencies of TP models. The comprehensive TP model makes improvements to the existing TP models through the addition of processes and tools that overcome deficiencies and incorporate best practices. The new comprehensive TP model includes elements of existing generic MP models, a "Technology Application Selection" (TAS) process and several new processes and tools associated with prototypes and network groups. Some of the new processes and tools are demonstrated through a case example. The comprehensive TP model provides product developers with the necessary step-by-step guide to TP product development. The model effectively deals with deficiencies of previous TP models, is sufficiently comprehensive and detailed to guide product developers, is complimentary and consistent to existing design processes and terms, is applicable to most TP product development projects, and is useful and repeatable in making product development decisions.

Factors influencing the implementation of the new basic education curriculum in Mozambican schoolsMucavele, Simao 27 April 2009 (has links)
The purpose of this research was to trace the first year of progress made towards implementing the new curriculum for basic education in Mozambique and to gain clarity about the process with a view to formulating pertinent recommendations for its successful implementation. This study starts by presenting background information which highlights the need for the curriculum to be more relevant to the sociopolitical changes in Mozambique as the main aim of transforming the basic education curriculum. Secondly, it maps out the national environment in which the new curriculum is operating and the critical factors justifying the changes brought by curriculum transformation. Then it introduces the research questions that essentially explore four issues, namely (1) the nature of the new curriculum and the strategy used to implement it, (2) the perceptions of educators, subject specialists and principals regarding the new curriculum, (3) classroom practices as envisaged in the new education curriculum and (4) efforts towards successful implementation of the new curriculum. Before the research topic is addressed the precepts of curriculum theory and the principles of curriculum development are discussed as the context within which to conceptualize the implementation of the new curriculum in Mozambique. The study under review explores the seven basic conditions for effective change identified by Giacquinta (1998). The researcher has found with due reference to the subject literature that the relevance of these conditions is borne out by the findings of the research under review. This research therefore has the merit that it relates these conditions (referred as factors in the study) to each other, thus serving as an important guide for monitoring and implementing education change of which curriculum reform is a basic element. The study employed mainly quantitative analysis (descriptive statistical analysis and factor analysis) having as research instrument a survey questionnaire designed to gauge educators’ and learners’ opinions regarding implementation of the new Basic Education Curriculum in Mozambican schools. As the main findings of the study, it was clear from participating principals’ and teachers’ responses that school leadership is an essential factor in assuring the presence and maintenance of all the necessary conditions for successful implementation of the new curriculum. The capacity building is another indispensable factor derived from participating principals’ and teachers’ responses concerning successful implementation of the new curriculum, which is viewed as an important condition for creating and maintaining teachers’ confidence in their ability to fulfil new role expectations. In this regard, principals and teachers identified innovative classroom practices as an important condition for successful implementation of the new curriculum. So, principals’ responses showed that it was important to recognise the association between leadership, innovative classroom practices and capacity building, while participating teachers’ responses showed that there was an important link between capacity building and leadership, rewarding and innovative classroom practices. Thus, with the exception of rewarding the same factors were identified as critical by both principals and teachers. A distinct enabling condition for successful implementation of the new curriculum that emerged from participating students’ responses comprised (1) an association of students’ expectations, learning opportunities and outcomes, (2) students’ subject preferences, (3) and a friendly and supportive school environment. This research both contributes to understanding of the curriculum implementation process, and enables the formulation of pertinent recommendations towards successful curriculum implementation. The Master's thesis presents specification, analyze and design phase of software development. The most stress is putted on Model Driven Development. It contains brief description of almost all UML 2.0 diagrams (use case diagram, class diagram, sequence diagram, activity diagram, state chart, component diagram and deployment diagram). Those principles have been extended to executable UML which can be used for model-driven software architecture. The design of such architecture is one of the current projects of Faculty of Information Technology, BUT. The part of that project is statechart simulator. The thesis discusses whole design of state chart simulator system step by step. It starts with specification, walk thought use case diagram and class diagram to collaboration diagram. In the last chapter, we mention the biggest implementation problems and specificities of Squeak Smalltalk programming language. Finally, it considers possibilities for extension and it evaluates results.

Developing the professional capacity of educators teaching in the context of a special school through collaboration and peer coachingKempen, Maria Elizabeth 06 1900 (has links)
The objective of education authorities worldwide is to enhance teachers’ professional capacities and practices through the supply of quality continuous professional development (CPD) activities. The South African education system has been subjected to many changes during the past two decades which have seriously affected the quality of education provided in schools country wide. Professional development (PD) of teachers has been found to be a key factor in raising standards in South African schools. Although the National Department of Education has identified teacher development as important, very little has transpired in the education system. School leaders should, therefore, take on the responsibility of providing their staff with PD opportunities. To support teachers in special schools and to enhance their professional capacity, the researcher designed, implemented and evaluated a collaborative PD model in six special schools in Gauteng. The aim of the study was to establish the value of the CPD programme on teachers’ learning, learners’ outcomes and whole school change. This multi-phased case study research was positioned within a bigger study conducted by the Gauteng Department of Education and in particular the Early Childhood Development Institute (ECDI). This larger study was based on the fact that most of the burn related accidents in South Africa occur in the 0-4 age group, which served as the rationale for including the fire safety programme in the ECD curriculum. The focus during the research was on the adaptation of fire safety activities and learners and teacher support materials for an inclusive classroom. This research reports on a two year study on the implementation of a CPD model based on collaboration and peer coaching. The theoretical framework for this study links to theories of constructivism, organisational theory of Senge, network and social capital. This research serves as an example of where valuable internal and external networks were formed for the benefit of all involved with the study.
