Dior - Ett lyxmodemärke i kris : - En studie i argumentens bild av händelsen

Jakobsson, Anna, Molin, Linnea January 2013 (has links)
ABSTRACT The purpose of this essay has been to analyse an incident that received huge attention in the media that took place on February 24 2011 involving the famous fashion designer John Galliano. Galliano who at the time served as a creative director at French luxury fashion house Dior hurled anti-Semitic remarks during an altercation to a couple at Paris café La Perle. We intended to do a study of the material in two parts. The primary focus of our thesis was to analyse six different newspaper articles that involved the incident. We chose to analyse three articles from Great Britain and three from the United States to get a versatile image of the incident. The purpose of the study was to see how the journalists argued for the incident, and see if the varied even though they were based on the same story. The secondary study was to analyse how Dior are working on maintaining their image and which strategies they chose to for its crisis management regarding the incident as an attempt to protect its image. It was performed by analyse statements by the management of Dior in the media. To answer the research questions, we have used the method of qualitative rhetorical content analysis. The method is used to study the argument in various forms of communications. The selected newspapers are The Telegraph (London) and The New York Times (New York). The incident did not just affect Galliano and Dior. The general perception was that the incident left the fashion business in imbalance.  Regarding the crisis management of Dior, these result was that the most startling ones.

"Den nya linjen" : Dior & The New Look i svenska dam- och modetidskrifter 1947-1948 - en receptionsstudie

Högblom, Annelie January 2014 (has links)

Optimization of a Supply Chain : Christian Dior Couture

Darmon, Audrey January 2013 (has links)
Nowadays, all the enterprises in the fashion industry face the problem of variability of supply and demand. Working in fashion implies facing rapid changes, and the success or failure of a company is often determined by the company's ability to adapt and respond quickly to these changes. In addition to having to deal with large quantities of information, the companies must ensure the availability of all their products, in all the stores worldwide, while optimizing inventory levels. This research will focus on Christian Dior Couture and more specifically on the Eyewear. The immediate objective of this research project is to optimize the inventory while maintaining the sales. The information on stock out rates crossed with the sales quantity, the stock and the coverage enables supply chain's managers to make decisions at a store level and at a reference level to reduce the stock at its optimal value without compromising the sales' level. In the future, further studies could be made to try and optimise the reordered quantities in addition to optimizing the current stores' stock.

Ljunggren Forsberg, Vilma January 2017 (has links)
This essay aims to establish a marxist perspective upon a phenomena that could be seen as typical neoliberal–femvertising. I have noticed an expanding trend in fashion; the use of feminism as branding. Fashion brands such as Dior and H&M have lately profiled themselves with feminism, framing it as radical as well as feminist. Meanwhile, the theory of reification by Georg Lukács claims that capitalism fools us to believe that we may acccomplish human aims and characteristics through commodities. I will investigate if it is possible to look upon this phenomena as an example of reification? The attempt brings the capitalistic dimension of femvertising into daylight and questions it´s feminist pretense.
