For this, we made an overview on the performance of repetitions which are established in the corpus collected for the study, considering the presence of Discourse Traditions in the analyzed texts. It is noteworthy that the corpus consists of benditos and novenas collected in the municipality of Lajes, Rio Grande do Norte. This material is part of the differential corpus of the Project for the History of Brazilian Portuguese (PHPB-RN). Regarding the theoretical framework used to guide the research, we based our analysis on Discourse Traditions (DTs) theoretical assumptions, with the ideas defended by Johannes Kabatek, besides taking into consideration the assumptions of Paul Zumthor about orality in popular religious texts, among other authors cited throughout the work. In the context of popular cultures, the existence of oral texts serves to various interactive objects and this is not different in popular benditos and novenas (cf. S? J?nior, 2009). In this sense, focusing the gaze through Discourse Traditions (DTs), we can verify that the texts/discourses present discursive regularities or textual forms already produced by society, in earlier times, which remain or are modified throughout its existence, as shows Johannes Kabatek (2001, 2003, 2005 and 2006). Also in this sense, Paul Zumthor (1993) presents us the idea that talk about using "word" in memory, in its real sense, implies admitting it as something which has an immeasurable power, which is able to decide directions in world, and from that is established the "wealth of oral traditions" / Com o intuito de contribuir para o entendimento dos processos constitutivos dos textos orais, buscamos, com este trabalho, verificar como se estabelecem os processos de formulaicidade nos benditos e nas novenas, patrim?nios imateriais religiosos.

New trends on Historical Linguistics have shown that dealing with old texts provide a good basis for language change if we take into account that some texts provide the emergence of specific structures, words and expressions, while others do not. Based on this assumption, this dissertation aims at presenting the facsimile and semidiplomatic edition of a colonial manuscript produced in Jundiaí (São Paulo State) in 1657, named Cartas de Datas, which is a kind of land patent. The manuscript consists of a collection of sixty-one land patents written by the village officials in order to grant a tract of land to local people requesting it. The discourse tradition of issuing such document represented a formal and legal land contract. The analysis is divided into two parts. Firstly, I compare the macrostructures of each land patent in order to identify similarities and differences among them. The second part is dedicated to the classification and description of sentences as to nominal and verbal agreement based on Castilho et al. (2018). The results reveal that such elaborate text also gives rise to lack of agreement cases, besides agreement according to standard Portuguese.

Therefore, the textual production is modeled according to textual traditions enclosed in each community collection of memory and imaginary, which revels the synchronic and diachronic dynamics of the discourse traditions. It is verified that Farsa da boa preguiça is permeated by memories and texts, metamorphosed to contemporary times in narrative and thematic features, underpinning variations that reflect a dynamic of continuity and rupture, in which the location of culture and the discourse traditions have a fundamental role. This work is based on diversified but complementary theoretical perspectives that deal with orality and literacy, cultural and discourse traditions, identitarian movements today, popular culture and identities. Hence, the issues proposed can be observed on the basis of many discourse features from the Northeast memory and imaginary that cuts across the utilization of genres, themes, characters, that allow us to trace a reflection on the language practices guided by different focuses.

Mainly from the 90s especially with the project, created in 1997, Para a hist?ria do portugu?s brasileiro (PHPB), which has systemized, in national ambit, the programme related to the area of diachrony the historical studies retake forces and have gradually increased since then. Our work is set in the new scene of Brazilian historical linguistics and it is associated to two research programmes: i) the constitution of a diachronic corpus; ii) the diachrony of text and discourse. As regards the first programme, we made effort to constitute a diachronic corpus of official letters about Rio Grande do Norte, we called cartas oficiais norte-rio-grandenses, written in 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The chosen for bureaucrat letters occurred for they represent a textual category very productive in historical contexts, mostly 18th and 19th centuries, in which the command of writing was the least and also because they bring, almost always explicitly, the information of where, when, for whom and from whom, as remembers Fonseca (2003). The rules for constituting the corpus were based, although not strictly, on the orientation from PHPB. In respect to the second programme, we set up on the ideas of coserian base came from the studies on discourse traditions (TD) (Koch, 1997; Kabatek, 2006) amongst which that the texts are shaped so as to follow their own tradition (Coseriu, 2007), and we turned to Diplomatics (Belloto, 2002) in order to do the characterization of this corpus by the application of concepts from Diplomatics and TD as well as by the presentation of the structures that form those official letters: their textual genres, a kind of TD, with their macrostructures; and some of their formulaic expressions (microstructures), another sort of TD. This stage of characterizing will pay attention, as far as possible, to the dynamic between tradition and innovation that happen in the actualization of those textual structures along the centuries. This work intends to contribute with the researches connected to Historical Linguistics in Rio Grande do Norte, more specifically the ones related to the constitution of diachronic corpora and to TD; and with the study of official documents, textual category about which there are almost no studies (cf. Silveira, 2007) / Os estudos diacr?nicos marcaram as primeiras d?cadas do s?culo XX na lingu?stica brasileira, passando por um per?odo de ostracismo ap?s a d?cada de 50.

Married migrant women living within Korean multicultural families : a pastoral narrative perspective

Lee, Chang Young January 2014 (has links)
This research seeks to adopt a post-foundationalist practical theology paradigm, as discussed by J C Müller, in order to create a bridge between the three concepts of the pastoral care perspective, the narrative perspective based on social-constructionism and post-foundationalism. Furthermore, I made use of Müller’s seven movements of methodology which laid a strong foundation to base my research on regarding married migrant women living within Korean multicultural families. Korean society which is a homogeneous culture is currently facing many challenges as a result of becoming more and more multicultural. These multicultural issues are becoming major social and political issues in South Korea. The main reason that South Korean society has become more multicultural is because of intercultural marriages which have also resulted in an increase in multicultural families. These migrant women are faced with many kinds of discrimination and prejudice as a result of their different appearance, culture and language. Furthermore, Korean culture often deprives women of having any position above men especially once they are married. After being married a woman should become invisible, voiceless, and nameless in order to become culturally acceptable. This often results in a migrant woman feeling stressed, fearful, isolated and alone which often results in the development of a low self-esteem, a lack of self-confidence and a low self-image. In my research, I sought to listen to and identify the stories of migrant women, namely foreign women who have married Korean men with a focus on the impact on their identities within a Korean multicultural family through a narrative perspective in order to have a positive growth and outcome from their intercultural differences within South Korea. I decided to view my co-researchers not as co-researchers but as companions on a journey which we could undertake together. The use of the metaphors ‘journey’ and ‘companions’ seemed to give my companions the freedom to speak more openly and placed us on an equal level. Furthermore, I not only discovered my companions’ identities through their own stories, but also developed my companions’ true identities/multi-identities through the broader, inter-relational stories of other people within multicultural communities through a six step process of Listening to the voice, Gaining voice, Giving voice, Finding alternative voice, Retelling voice and Creating future voice. I made use of the narrative approach in order to listen to my companions so that a unity would exist between their past, present and future stories. As I listened to the stories of my companions from a narrative perspective new possibilities were opened which lead to alternative and future stories. Furthermore, my companions were given the opportunity to find themselves and make new identities on the real journey of life. Through the process of my research I also developed a multicultural identity model specifically for married migrant women in South Korea, but ultimately the purpose of my research was not to show or develop a multicultural identity model regarding migrant women, but was more to help these migrant women find their identities themselves and in this become self-empowered to become contributors to Korean society. / Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2014. / gm2014 / Practical Theology / unrestricted
