This master's thesis consists in the pursuit of understanding, the state economy, discuss the economic fundamentals, growth, development, participation, relevance in the Brazilian economy as well as enhance the capacity and representativeness the Paraná state should be assigned. The Baillies of Mellerstain : the household economy in an eighteenth-century elite householdMacDonald, Jasmine Elizabeth 13 December 2010
Account books of household expenses provide details of people's social and economic life. For Scotland during the seventeenth and eighteenth century few, if any, account books are as detailed as those of Lady Grisell Baillie of Jerviswood who lived from 1665-1746. Lady Baillie (nee Hume) is a well-known upper class woman in Scottish history, both in her own right and in relation to the tumultuous political careers of her father (Patrick Hume) and husband (George Baillie). A scholarly edition of the accounts, augmented by an 1822 biography written by her daughter, can provide insight into women's social history in eighteenth-century Scotland. The household accounts, in particular, provide the opportunity to examine what the everyday lifestyles were like for upper-class families in Scotland. These accounts include the expenses of raising and educating children, feeding a large household of family and servants and the extravagant costs involved in overseas travel. What makes Lady Grisell's accounts unique is their level of detail and organization spanning over forty years, from 1692 to 1746. In addition to the accounts the biography, written in the style of times, provides valuable information about the Baillies' marriage, family life and the Baillie girls' upbringing. These sources add to the understanding of the household and marital economy in Scotland during the long eighteenth century.

This research uses the optimal control theory to construct two kinds of dynamic economic systems, which are an economic system without externalities and with externalities. Within each economic system both the centralized economy model and the decentralized economy model are included. The centralized economy (a social planner) model representes a kind of ideal economy, and the goal what the social planner pursues is that the resource allocation of the society satisfies the Pareto Efficiency criteria. On the other hand, the decentralized economy model (consists of a representative producer and a representative consumer) demonstrates the real economy, where economic agents persue their own best interests. While constructing the models, goods market equilibrium, labors market equilibrium, the dynamic accumulation process of capital, and the dynamic accumulation course of pollution are under consideration. Then, I apply optimal control method to get the first order conditions, and compare these f.o.c¡¦.s to verify whether they are unanimous.
This paper proves that when externalities of pollution does not exist in the dynamic economic system, the decentralized economy model can achieve the Pareto Efficiency. On the contrary, when externalities of pollution emerges in the dynamic economic system, the decentralized economy model cannot reach Pareto Efficiency. If the externalities of pollution is internalized by the dynamic decentralized economic system economy, it will coincide with Pareto Efficiency. Besides, Pigouvian tax is still an effective policy instrument. Finally, I discuss all dynamic models in this paper to find out whether there exists a long-term and stable steady state. I find stable steady state, saddle-point equilibria, do exist under certain restrictions.

Tarptautinio Valiutos Fondo įtaka Azijos politinei ekonomijai 1997m. krizės metu. Japonijos ir P. Korėjos atvejis / IMF impact on Asia‘s political economy during the `97 crisis. Case of Japan and South KoreaMilašiūtė, Asta 14 June 2011 (has links)
• Pasirinkti konkrečius politinės ekonomijos teorinius aspektus, kurie padėtų susiaurinti ir sukonkretinti tyrimą;
• Išskirti konkretų atvejį tyrimui atlikti;
• Išanalizuoti TVF... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / This Final Master thesis is designeded to investigate the Western political economy model applicability to change Asian model in its region. During the Asia Financial Crisis in 1997 Korea republic (further South Korea) asked the IMF financial aid and accepted all the conditions and made many reforms in the country. Those reforms were directed into liberalizing the market, open up to foreign investors and to create more attractive foreign direct investment (further FDI) climate in S.Korea. This was about to change theretofore exited Asian political economy model into more liberal Western model.
The problem – could IMF reforms help to recover countries‘ economies more effective and sharply after the crisis? Could those IMF reforms be successfully adjusted into any environment?
The object – political-economical indicators of Japan and S.Korea.
Objective of investigation – to find out if IMF reforms in S.Korea helped to recover its economy more rapidly and successfully than in Japan, where IMF reforms were not implemented. From objective the hypothesis that after investigation will be confirmed or rejected appear:
Hypothesis – IMF improved political-economical indicators in S.Korea more sharply than Japan, where the government did not implemented any IMF reforms. Regarding to the fact that IMF reforms were designeded to implement Western political economy model into Asia country – S.Korea, confirmation of the hypothesis would also prove that Western model could be... Food security in Paulatuk, NT opportunities and challenges of a changing community economyTodd, Zoe Sarah Croucher 11 1900 (has links)
This study examines the influence of the wage economy on food security in Paulatuk, NT, and aims to illustrate: a) how individuals are participating in the wage economy and traditional economy in Paulatuk, and in turn how this influences their ability to procure food from the land, as illustrated in Chapter 2; and b) the impact of income on the ability of residents to procure food from the store and through the Food Mail program, as shown in Chapter 3. The thesis aims to answer the question: how does the wage economy affect the ability of individuals to procure food from the land and the store in Paulatuk, NT? The influence of the wage economy on the traditional economy must be considered holistically, and store-bought and country foods must be considered as two equal parts of the food security equation in Paulatuk. / Rural Sociology
