Utan vägtullar på information highway. Vetenskaplig publicering i Open Access-tidskrifter : en intervjuundersökning med musikforskare / Tollfree on the Information Highway : Scientific Publishing in Open-Access Journals – Interviews with Musicologists

Schöld, Judit January 2007 (has links)
This thesis aims to explore how musicologists reason about publishing their articles in open-access journals. What is the challenge they face and what are the possibilities musicologists are concerned about? For the method I used open-ended and structured interviews based on four factors: trustworthiness, accessibility, reaching the readers and status of the publishing media. Musicologists are positive to the open-access concept and are willing to submit their papers to open-access journals. They think that the accessibility of the articles is going to increase when they publish them in open-access journals. Furthermore, in order to submit their articles to open-access journals, the musicologists expect that these journals have a peer-review system. Less than half of the musicologists want these journals to have high impact factor. The rest of them are not concerned about the status of the publishing media. Some of the musicologists thought they could reach more readers by means of the traditional printed journals, some thought they could do it better by open-access journals. / Uppsatsnivå: D

Bokomslag 2.0 – Visuella strategier i formgivning av digitala bokomslag

Bygdén, Lisa January 2020 (has links)

Modeling non-maturing liabilities

von Feilitzen, Helena January 2011 (has links)
Non‐maturing liabilities, such as savings accounts, lack both predetermined maturity and reset dates due to the fact that the depositor is free to withdraw funds at any time and that the depository institution is free to change the rate. These attributes complicate the risk management of such products and no standardized solution exists. The problem is important however since non‐maturing liabilities typically make up a considerable part of the funding of a bank. In this report different modeling approaches to the risk management are described and a method for managing the interest rate risk is implemented. It is a replicating portfolio approach used to approximate the non‐maturing liabilities with a portfolio of fixed income instruments. The search for a replicating portfolio is formulated as an optimization problem based on regression between the deposit rate and market ratesseparated by a fixed margin. In the report two different optimization criteria are compared for the replicating portfolio, minimizing the standard deviation of the margin versus maximizing the risk‐adjusted margin represented by the Sharpe ratio, of which the latter is found to yield superior results. The choice of historical sample interval over which the portfolio is optimized seems to have a rather big impact on the outcome but recalculating the portfolio weights at regular intervals is found to stabilize the results somewhat. All in all, despite the fact that this type of method cannot fully capture the most advanced dynamics of the non‐maturing liabilities, a replicating portfolio still appears to be a feasible approach for the interest risk management. / QC 20110701

Hedman, Ann January 2011 (has links)
The Swedish Work Environment Authority gave in 2009 complaints about deficiencies in practices in the systematic work environment at the Municipality K, which led to a municipality wide training in best practice work environment, initiated from the HR department. The HR department in the Municipality K wanted to see improvements in the way the various Administrations perform their routines in the field of work environment. The Municipality also desired an overall better result of efforts related to the work environment, even if the sick leave has been considered as low.   The purpose of this study has been to investigate how the practices of the systematic work environment can be improved and how it can be integrated into the daily operations in collaboration with quality development work in the home-care operation in the Municipality K.   The material has been 15 unit managers with operational responsibility for approximately 30-45 employees (care staff) per unit, all of whom have worked under the Swedish Social Services Act within home-care. The methods in the study have been to observe four workplace meetings and to conduct four focus group interviews at the operational level with subsequent feedbacks. With interactive and phenomenological research approach, the organization's present situation and change has been analyzed. Through a joint learning between researcher and practitioner, the methods have had a catalytic effect as well, in a time when organizational development was needed. They also served as support for managers who wanted to achieve improved conditions for their leadership.   The study has revealed deficiencies in application of practices in the systematic work environment in the home-care operation in Municipality K. Furthermore, it is found that the work environment is not considered as a strategic issue in the Social Administration, which has led to deficiencies in the way environment work is carried out at the operational level. According to the theoretical model developed by the Stress Research Institute at the Stockholm University in cooperation with Siegrist, the unit managers do not perform in line with all dimensions of the model at an operational level. This may cause stress symptoms and illness as a consequence of the work requirements.   The study shows that the workplace meetings, as a forum between unit managers and care staff in the Municipality K, do not follow the intentions for development according to the FAS 05 cooperation agreement between The Municipalities and Regions of Sweden.   The study also puts forward that the leadership, carried out by the unit managers, has an impact on the outcome regarding the work environment for employees and the quality work in relation to care recipients. The routines in the work environment can be improved if the organization creates a culture and a working climate that stimulate innovative learning and encourage values that make employees want to, and being able to, engage in a continuous process of change. Through channeling and processing the expertise of employees in the workplace meetings at the operational level, the inherent ability in the organization can develop and a recurring change agenda can occur with positive effects on work environment, quality and operational efficiency. A change prone and development oriented leadership is the prerequisite for this.
