This diploma thesis deals with the education of officials of public administration on the level of territorial self-government. The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate a system of education of officials of territorial self-governing units on example of a particular town district authority in Ostrava, to identify problematic spheres and to propose the possibilities of their solution. After introductory determination of the problem in the beginning of the thesis there are theoretical solutions stated and there are contemporary trends of development in education of officials in Europe outlined. Afterwards there is an origin of contemporary system of education of officials of territorial self-governing units in the Czech Republic described in the context of reform of public administration which is followed by the determination of legislative framework, by organisation of education and by overview of participants engaged in this sphere. In empirical part of the thesis there is a research of education of officials at the town district authority in Ostrava implemented and the results of the research including identification of problematic spheres are compared with results of similar researches. La ciudad de Arequipa es uno de los motores culturales y económicos del sur andino del Perú, siendo pionera en el rubro de la fotografía. Sin embargo, los años pasaron y la tradición e historia relacionada a la fotografía se vio muy descuidada debido a ausencias propias y a agentes externos. Se perdió, así, la oportunidad de consolidar la imagen de Arequipa y de ser un fomentador del arte y la creatividad. Por el potencial de mejorar y consolidar esta parte de la zona de amortiguamiento del centro histórico, se plantea un proyecto que incorpore la educación y la difusión de la imagen de la ciudad, a través de la búsqueda de la estimulación de la creatividad de las personas en espacios que generen encuentros espontáneos. Asimismo, se pretende explotar las oportunidades culturales y comerciales con las que cuenta la zona con el objetivo de marcar un precedente y pauta de lo que podría ser la educación y difusión del arte y la cultura en Arequipa. / The city of Arequipa is one of the cultural and economic engines of the southern Andean region of Peru. In fact, it is a pioneer in the field of photography. However, years passed and the tradition and history related to photography was highly neglected due to own absences and external agents. Thus, the opportunity to consolidate Arequipa’s image and its capacity of promoting art and creativity was lost. Given the potential to improve and consolidate this area of the historic center, the aim of this project is to incorporate education with the diffusion of Arequipa's image through the fomentation of people's creativity in spaces that enable spontaneous encounters. The assumption of the present study is that teachers should possess an adequate understanding of the nature of science and scientific method and hence this aspect was investigated. The empirical research carried out with Secondary School teacher trainees at Botswana colleges of education showed the following:
Subjects possess an adequate understanding of some aspects of the nature of science and several aspects of the scientific method. They however do not have an adequate understanding on certain aspects of the nature of science. An association was found between the nature of science, type of educational institution attended, years of study and majoring in science. A positive association was found between scientific method and years spent studying. The present study recommended the inclusion of history, philosophy and sociology of science in the curriculum of teacher education. / Educational Studies / M. Ed. Positive work and organisational psychological functioning of academics in the open distance learning work environmentDiedericks, Johanna Catharina 11 1900 (has links)
The research was conducted from the perspective of a positive psychological paradigm and investigated the interrelationship dynamics between the psychological constructs of resistance to change, work engagement and psychological capital which have been under-researched in the rapidly changing open distance learning work environment of academics. A quantitative survey was conducted on a probability sample of 423 (N=423) academics at a South African open distance learning higher education institution. Confirmatory- and exploratory factor analysis, in the absence of goodness of fit, revealed a four-construct measurement model for resistance to change, a two-factor measurement model for work engagement and a four-construct measurement model for psychological capital. A correlational analysis revealed significant relationships between resistance to change, work engagement and psychological capital and structural equation modelling indicated an adequate fit of the conceptual structural model. Tests for statistically significant mean differences revealed no differences between male and female academics, or between the educational levels of groups of academics, with regard to levels of resistance to change, work engagement and psychological capital. At a theoretical level, the research provided insight into the different concepts and theoretical models that lead to the development of positive psychological functioning, such as understanding of the notion of resistance to change in the work environment. At an empirical level, the new knowledge and insights derived from the results may add to a broader perspective on interrelationships between the psychological behavioural constructs of resistance to change, work engagement and psychological capital. This research has also added to the body of knowledge on how academics’ positive psychological behaviour can contribute to a positive organisation as well as to individual well-being in a changing open distance learning work environment. / Industrial and Organisational Psychology / D. The conceptual frame of the program of the professional educational organization development is based on the example of the State Budget Professional Educational Institution “Social Professional College "Builder". The development program of the State Budget Professional Educational Institution “Social Professional College "Builder" is developed in accordance with the state policy in the field of education in order to improve the system of training of construction personnel at the secondary vocational education level.
