ONE SIZE FITS ALL :) : An EKLUND EKLUND Movie

Eklund, Johanna January 2019 (has links)
I create to heal wounds – personal, emotional and social. I create to break the patriarchy and normative systems that excludes people of different genders, sexualities, colours and bodies. I make human wear – fashion for bodies of all sizes and genders. I want people to be comfortable with themselves and their bodies and that is the goal with my brand EKLUND EKLUND. The fashion world today consists of “his and hers”, size zero, “wear and tear” and sexist ads, all of which maintains heteronormativity and sick beauty ideals. Clothes are made for “women” and “men” in size XS-XL, leaving everyone outside of those norms excluded. I will research the gender - and beauty norms in western media and fashion and how it affects people and their self esteem. How can I make fashion inclusive and socially sustainable? Can I make clothes that fits all? I’m gonna make a One Size Queer Couture Collection to include different expressions and bodies to change the norms of gender and size. One Size that adjusts to different shapes and sizes, Queer as in genderless for everyone and Couture as in hand-made fashion. I will achieve this through experimental pattern making, non-normative design and a presentation of the clothes with and for people confronting norms of gender, sexualities, beauty and colour.

Musikaliska porträtt av Alex & Sigge : - om att skriva musik till podcast-segment / Musical portrait of Alex & Sigge : - about writing music to podcast segments.

Jennersjö, Benjamin January 2019 (has links)

The picture book as a medium for art history writing : An analytical study of the relationship between image and text in Ylva Hillströms & Karin Eklunds picture book Hilma af Klint - Mapping the Invisible

Rönnberg, Mollie January 2022 (has links)
In this essay, the children’s picture book Hilma af Klint: maps of invisibility by Ylva Hillström and Karin Eklund is analyzed with the aim of exploring the picture book as a medium and tool for art history writing. The analysis examines how the artist Hilma af Klint is portrayed and how art history is presented, as well as placing a particular focus on analyzing the interaction between image and text. The content is examined with semiotic image analysis, an inductive literature study as well as reception aesthetics analysis. The analysis concludes that Hilma af Klint as an artist is portrayed as fearless, curious and serious, and her artistic ambition is described as the desire to understand the universe. The design of the picture book and the ability to freely place and combine images and texts in different ways means that it is possible to convey the history of the art in several ways. With the picture book, sometimes several parallel stories are told; sometimes picture and text work together to complement each other, other tims the same thing is presented in both text and picture, or the pictures tell a story of their own or provide additional information that does not appear in the text. Depending on the experience of the viewer/reader, it is possible to derive different things from the picture book, and gaps can be filled as well as be left empty, which creates excitement and curiosity about the rest of the art world. Through the illustrations representation of af Klint's work and Eklund's way of illustrating the works the images in the book relate back to the children's/viewer's own world. The design of the picture book functions as a gateway to what it is like to look at art and art books and it works to create images within the viewer.

Konst och kartläggning kring 1970 : Modell, diagram och karta i konstens landskap / Art and Mapping around the year of 1970 : Maps, Models, and Diagrams in the Artistic Landscape

Uggla, Karolina January 2015 (has links)
The years around 1970 saw the emergence of an artistic fascination with maps and mapping. In the present thesis this fascination is conceptualised as a mapping impulse, acknowledging how the discourses of art and mapping, respectively, intertwine and merge. The aim of the study is to analyse this mapping impulse and to identify recurring themes and concepts in artworks and texts on art where maps and mapping processes are used as a visual expression and method. In order to demonstrate how the scope of the thesis is shaped by later interpretations of art from around 1970, three exhibition publications from three decades are examined to illustrate how boundaries between the discourses of art and of mapping are renegotiated from the late 1960s up until the 2010s. The representing line of the map is analysed via the concepts of diagrams, maps, and models, such as the re-appearance of Claude Shannon’s and Warren Weaver’s Communication Model in the Swedish late 1960s, Öyvind Fahlström’s World Map (1972), and Sten Eklund’s paintings on glass from 1968 where he transfers ideas from Wittgenstein’s Tractatus into visual representations. The procedural aspects of encounters between the discourses of art and of mapping from around 1970 are analysed in Hans Haacke’s Gallery-Goers’ Birthplace and Residence Profile Pt. 1 and Sten Eklund’s Kullahusets hemlighet (The Secret of Kullahuset). The latter work is interpreted in the light of the role of the mapping, surveying individual, and in a figurative sense, the individual in the system. Here, the concept of alienation is used, as the work delineates the mapping subject who itself is being subject to mapping. In this thesis the mapping impulse is identified as a way to deal with territory and truth in Western art around 1970. The map as a sign system and a practice is representative of a recent stage where art in various ways deal with a world undergoing rapid change. The mapping impulse circa 1970 can be identified as a visual regime of cartographic reason, characterized by legibility, clarity and lucidity. This also suggests alternative interpretations of the impact of the linguistic turn in the art of the 1960s and early 1970s, revealing a more ambiguous relationship between text and image.
