Tal formulação torna possível explorar e analisar os desequilíbrios estruturais e operacionais / Abstract: The increase complexity of power distribution analysis demands formulation and modeling that are capable to integrate structural and operational unbalance to steady state operational conditions. In this work the three-phase representation on distribution systems is addressed taking in account three-phase, two-phase and single-phase systems particularities; and developing the models for lines, loads, capacitor banks, transformers and step-voltage regulators. To achieve the future link between the models and existing techniques to determine the distribution systems operational conditions, it's chosen the formulation based on generalized matrices that establish the correlation of currents and nodal voltages. This formulation makes possible to explore and analyze the structural and operational unbalances / Mestrado / Energia Eletrica / Mestre em Engenharia Elétrica

Ustálený chod a zkratové poměry v síti 110 kV E.ON napájené z rozvodny 110 kV Sokolnice v roce 2011 / Stabilized operation and short - circuit conditions within E.ON 110 kV power network supplied from Sokolnice 110kV switching station, during the period of 2011

Jandora, Jiří January 2011 (has links)
While changing the connection of the power transformators we have to find out if the powered distribution network can accept this change and if it will fulfil the set conditions. Important is to keep the range of permitted voltage on separate distribution points of this network and to find out proportions on separate circuits. This is connected with a circuit load which cannot exceed its limit (transmission capacity). The network is checked against outages of separate circuits (N-1) and we try to find out if other circuits are not overloaded during the transmission of the outaged circuit’s power. We can also suggest various other possible outages. It is also important to find out whether separate distribution points agree with their short-circuit capabilities. Overall we investigate advantages of this circuit. The theoretical part describes the means of calculation of the network functioning and short-circuit conditions. All the calculated results (dispatcher control system Sinaut Spectrum) for the given circuits of power transformators are processed and evaluated in the practical part of the thesis.

Görrel, Elina, Hjelm, Alva January 2021 (has links)
Husqvarna is a company that manufactures workwear intended for work in the forest. On behalf of Husqvarna, the possibility of integrating electronics into workwear will be investigated, which is the basis for this work. Through a literature study possible techniques have been studied. Due to the fact that workwear usually is of woven structure, weaving was chosen as the technique. Different types of conductive materials were examined by measuring the electrical resistance. A selection was made of the conductive materials with the lowest resistance for further testing and prototype development. Specimens were woven with canals, into which the conductive material was inserted. In addition, specimens containing non-insulated conductive yarn were laminated. The purpose of the lamination was to insulate the conductive yarn and thereby protect the worker from electrical shocks and cause a short curcuit. Tests were then performed on the manufactured specimens which examined the resistance to washing and sweat. The washing test was done on the basis of SS-EN ISO 6330: 2012 and for the sweat test an own method was constructed, because there is currently no standard that involves sweat and conductive materials in textiles. After washing tests it turned out that the laminate is not to recommend as it came loose on the majority of the specimens. However, the electrical resistance was not significantly affected by the washing. The results obtained from the sweat test showed that the laminate prevented contact between the conductive lines. Nevertheless, the laminate is not to be preferred in this case due to how it was affected in the washing test. In addition, only those specimens that contained only FISK-cable managed to not create contact between the conductive paths. As electronics and textiles are not usually used together, the possibility of separating the different systems when recycling the garment is necessary. From an environmental point of view, it is therefore advantageous to integrate the electronics as little as possible, as it will then be easier to separate from the fabric. In addition, it allows for possible repairs of the various components, which can extend the life of the entire product. For the sake of comfort, however, the electronics and wiring must be integrated much more. The best option for integrating electronics into a garment for this purpose is probably to place the conduits in a lining fabric with a thin insulated cable lying in canals in the fabric. This study´s purpose was to determine whether it would be possible to integrate electronics into workwear, further product development and designwork is neccessary in order to create garments with smart features.

Beslutstödssystem for investeringar och underhåll i eldistributionssystem

Lindell, Joakim January 2009 (has links)
This MSc project develops a method that combines factors that affect the investment and maintenance costs in electrical power systems with costs associated with outage. This gives the system planner an opportunity to compare different alternatives for investments to receive a low total cost. Using system reliability analysis the outage time for the load points in the system can be decided. If the expected outage time is associated with a cost, it is possible to calculate the expected outage cost for the system.   The purpose of the simulations has been to examine if it is possible to minimize the total cost by doing randomized investments on power lines in the system. The simulations are carried out on a fictional, small system. Because of the specific design, it is easy to analyze results but also complex enough to show problems that can occur in the system. The simulations show that the model is robust and the expected results were accomplished. The simulations also showed that, even for a large amount of events, the time for the simulation is short. This shows that the model is suitable also for larger systems.

Absence of pure voltage instabilities in the third-order model of power grid dynamics

Thümler, Moritz, Zhang, Xiaozhu, Timme, Marc 18 April 2024 (has links)
Secure operation of electric power grids fundamentally relies on their dynamical stability properties. For the third-order model, a paradigmatic model that captures voltage dynamics, three routes to instability are established in the literature: a pure rotor angle instability, a pure voltage instability, and one instability induced by the interplay of both. Here, we demonstrate that one of these routes, the pure voltage instability, requires infinite voltage amplitudes and is, thus, nonphysical. We show that voltage collapse dynamics nevertheless exist in the absence of any voltage instabilities.

Component reliability importance indices for maintenance optimization of electrical networks

Hilber, Patrik January 2005 (has links)
<p>Maximum asset performance is one of the major goals for electric power system managers. To reach this goal minimal life cycle cost and maintenance optimization become crucial while meeting demands from customers and regulators. One of the fundamental objectives is therefore to relate maintenance and reliability in an efficiently and effectively way, which is the aim of several maintenance methods such as the Reliability Centered Maintenance method (RCM). Furthermore, this necessitates the determination of the optimal balance between preventive and corrective maintenance to obtain the lowest total cost.</p><p>This thesis proposes methods for defining the importance of individual components in a network with respect to total interruption cost. This is a first step in obtaining an optimal maintenance solution. Since the methods consider several customer nodes simultaneously, they are especially suitable for network structures that serve many purposes/customers e.g. transmission and distribution networks with more than one load point. The major results are three component reliability importance indices, which are applied in two case studies. The first case study is based on a network in the Stockholm area. The second case study is performed for one overhead line system in the rural parts of Kristinehamn. The application studies demonstrate that the indices are possible to implement for existing electrical networks and that they can be used for maintenance prioritization. Consequently these indices constitute a first step in the overall objective of a maintenance optimization method.</p><p>The computations of the indices are performed both with analytical and simulation based techniques. Furthermore, the indices can be used to calculate the component contribution to the total system interruption cost. The approach developed for the importance indices can be utilized in any multi-state network that can be measured with one performance indicator.</p>

Projeto de controladores para o amortecimento de oscilações em sistemas elétricos com geração distribuída / Design of controllers to damp oscillations in electrical systems with distributed generation

Kuiava, Roman 04 March 2010 (has links)
This work proposes an investigation about the use of Norm-bounded Linear Differential Inclusions (NLDIs) for the design of PSS-type damping controllers for electrical systems with the presence of distributed generation. When the NLDI is properly defined, it is possible to guarantee certain properties (for example, asymptotic stability) to the trajectories of the NLDI and, consequently, the trajectories of the nonlinear model have these same properties. Initially, this research proposes a procedure to calculate the NLDI parameters in such way it can be capable to aggregate a set of dynamics of interest. Such procedure is constituted by two steps. In the first step, the objective is to aggregate some trajectories of the nonlinear model to a Politopic Linear Differential Inclusion (PLDI). In the second step, the NLDI parameters are calculated by solving a problem in the form of LMIs (Linear Matrix Inequalities) that uses the IDLP previously obtained. After that, this research proposes a systematic method based on LMIs for the design of PSS-type damping controllers for distributed generation systems. Such method uses the proposed NLDI models. Constraints in the form of LMIs are included to the control problem formulation in order to guarantee a desirable performance to the controller. As a result, the control problem formulation is structured by a set of BMIs (Bilinear Matrix Inequalities). However, it is possible to deal with such problem in two steps, both involving the solution of a set of LMIs. A cogeneration plant added to a distribution network constituted by a feeder and six buses is adopted as test system.

Metodologia para coordenação otimizada entre relés de distância e direcionais de sobrecorrente em sistemas de transmissão de energia elétrica / Methodology for optimized coordination of distance and directional overcurrent relays in electrical transmission systems

Moro, Vinícius de Cillo 05 September 2014 (has links)
Electrical power systems protection has a very important role in the aspect of ensuring energy supply with safety and reliability. Thus, improper action or non-actuation of this protection system can cause materials and/or economics damages to electricity utilities as well as ordinary energy consumers. Therefore the protection system must be well adjusted so it can ensure its functions and thus being sensible, selective, reliable and fast. In order to achieve these characteristics, the protective relays must be well coordinated. In the case of meshed transmission systems, the protection is generally performed by distance relays as primary protection associated with directional overcurrent relays as backup protection. The process of adjusting these relays is very tough, slow and it can even be subject to the protection engineer mistakes. In this context, this work aims to develop a particle swarm optimization based methodology that can automatically obtain these relays adjusts so they can ensure relays coordination and selectivity, and then make this setting process faster and more precise. Thus, this methodology may provide a very favorable tool to aid the protection engineer. Moreover, as in any optimization problem, the objective function and the constraints were defined to represent the coordination problem involving both distance and directional overcurrent relays. The methodology was applied to two systems, a fictitious with 16 relays and a real transmission system with 44 relays, and in both cases it showed satisfactory results providing well-coordinated settings.

Sistema híbrido inteligente para o monitoramento e proteção de transformadores de potência / Hybrid intelligent system for monitoring and protection of power transformers

Barbosa, Daniel 15 October 2010 (has links)
This work presents a set of methods for protecting and monitoring power transformers based on intelligent systems and the application of Clarke and Wavelet transforms. The intelligent approach allowed us to analyze the operating condition of power transformers and it discriminates between an internal fault and different operating conditions, as energization, sympathetic inrush, saturation of current transformers and overexcitation. Decision making is performed by fuzzy logic after the preprocessing of the input signals through various methods, varying according to which algorithm is running. It is important to point out that in the simulations using ATP many different power system equipment had been modeled, including a synchronous generator with speed regulation, transmission lines with variation in frequency, power transformers with their saturation curves, potential transformers and current transformers. The objective of these tests was to generate data for distinct situations for the verification and the analysis of the proposed methodologies. The results of the research show the applicability of the algorithms considered in protection and monitoring of power transformers, even in adverse conditions, such as saturation of current transformers, since the input signals are distorted by CT saturation corrected by artificial neural network. The results are compared to the ones presented by a commercial percentage differential relay.
