Tecer cotidianos, tecendo rebeldias : narrativas femininas sobre EJA / Everyday weave, weaving rebellion : narratives about female EJA

Maria Clara da Gama Cabral Coutinho 17 April 2012 (has links)
This thesis came from the desire to tell my experience as an Education of Young and Adults teacher, how I lived it, what i learned and what I still want to discover. To that end, I have researched and heard the testimonies od the teachers, thinking about their daily work, their subjectivities and their relationships with school contents and with the knowledge of the students, looking to identify emancipatory practices in their daily educational processes. The students' voices also become audible, through the narrative of their experiences, which allows us to identify emancipatory activities in the midst of their learning processes. The narratives of both students and teachers connect weaving a web of daily memory, highlighted by Nilda Alves (2008) for being a non-linear narrative susceptible to various interruptions and introductions od other parallel stories. This way, I tried to make an intersection between narratives of teachers and students, looking to weave a web based on the narrative of life and the literarization of science.

Edifying the Spirit of Love and Liberation in the Education of Young Children: Lessons from Critical Pedagogy and Reggio Emilia Inspired Educators

Seyed Yousef, Seyedeh Zahra Agha 26 April 2019 (has links) (PDF)
In an age of adultism in which children have been perceived as mere drains on society, schooling often has been viewed as a means to an end. Due to the fact that a capitalistic society requires future workers, children have been socialized in the necessary skills and knowledge required to fulfill their future job requirements. Consequently, schooling often has taken place in the form of the banking model in which students are treated as empty vessels to be filled up by the knowledgeable teachers, and then to regurgitate said knowledge on assessments to prove their understanding. I challenge this antiquated vision of education, especially in relation to what it has meant for young children in preschool through first grade. Using critical pedagogy and the Reggio Emilia approach as theoretical frameworks, I conducted a critical narrative study of eight early educators who have had experience working with students in early grades in emancipatory ways. I found that educators’ own experiences and consciousness greatly affected their beliefs about young children as well as the liberatory practices they engaged. I present a proposal for a shift in thinking about the education of young children, a relational model of education that highlights the intersections of critical pedagogy and the Reggio Emilia approach in grounding the work of teaching in armed love, belief in the capabilities of children, and opportunities for students to work with educators as revolutionary partners and transformative change agents who have an active role in their education and their world.

A Educação de Jovens e Adultos nos contextos de escolarização e as possibilidades de práticas educativas emancipatórias / The Youngs and Adults Education in the contexts of Schooling and The Possibilities of Educational Emancipatory Practices

Elizabete Carlos do Vale 31 August 2012 (has links)
The current research argues the importance of youngs and adults education in the contexts of schooling searching, from the daily studies, comprehend the meanings that are attributed and the aspects that are presented as perspectives of emancipatory education. It comes from the presupposition that the teachers and students weave, in the everyday life of EJA (EJA), knowledgesdoings, especially in their curricula, invisible and silenced, educational emancipatory practices beyond the regulatory forces of standards (OLIVEIRA, 2003). The construction of the analysis incorporates academic daily life observations and interviews with high school teachers and students of EJA (YAE) of the Solon de Lucena Elementary and Middle School, located in Campina Grande/PB. The development of the discussion considers the debate about the usage of the term social emancipation under the light of Paulo Freires and Boaventura Santoss postulates. The approach on the reconfiguration and extension of the youngs and adults education practices are based on the contributions of Paiva (1997, 2005, 2009), Haddad (2000, 2007), Di Pierro (2005, 2010), Arroyo (2005), Fávero (2004, 2007). The studies on culture contemplated produce interfaces and conections with the curriculum, especially the practiced curricula, from the works of Giroux (2009), Moreira (2002), Candau (2011), Oliveira (2003, 2009, 2010), among others. The thesis endorses that education dialogues, problematized by Freire, and the appreciation of the differentiated experiences conducive of dialogues and conflicts for the overcoming of the monoculture of knowledge, proposed by Santos, are present, implicitly in the teachers practices, as they develop actions of rupture with the submission logic of the board education, privileging the extension of dialogue, communication and social emancipation.
