A Study of Misfit Solution Methodology Between Enterprise Requirements and Application PackageHsu, Fu-Hsiung 20 January 2003 (has links)
Today, ERP is now considered to be the price of entry for running a business and for being connected to other enterprises in a network economy. Due to the complexity of the ERP and the needs for the business process reengineering, most of the ERP implementation projects were judged to be unsuccessful. A common problem when adopting ERP software has been the issue of misfits, that is, the gaps between the functionality offered by the package and that required by the adopting organization. These misfits include data formatting, data relating, access, controlling, operating, output formatting and data contents, and so forth. This study presents a methodology to analyze the above misfit issues and proposes strategies to solve the problems. The results will contribute to the ERP implementation.

Dynamics of multinational rivalryYu, Tieying 15 November 2004 (has links)
Drawing insights from strategic management and international business literature, the present study develops an integrated model to explain the competitive actions between multinational firms in a global context. Accordingly, two research questions are addressed: What key factors explain the competitive actions of multinational firms? What key factors moderate the competitive tensions experienced by different pairs of multinational firms? Using structured content analysis to identify competitive actions, the empirical findings of the present study suggest that subsidiary control, MNE size, national culture, government regulations and multimarket contact are all likely to exert important impact on a multinational firm's motivation and capability to compete and therefore influence its competitive aggressiveness in foreign markets.

Consumer perception, motivation, and satisfaction for social enterprise ¡V a case study of Children Are Us FoundationTai, Hsiu-chiao 11 February 2009 (has links)
Social enterprises are hybrid organizations which are partly for-profit and partly nonprofit. As entities create social value via market mechanisms, they are influenced by the factors that could impact the market. While social enterprises directly involve in the production of goods or the provision of services in the marketplace, consumer¡¦s awareness and supports are important. Perception, motivation, and satisfaction can influence consumer behavior. Instead of studying social enterprises from the organization perspective like many previous studies, this research attempts to explore social enterprises from consumers¡¦ perspective and to investigate the connections between consumers and social enterprises.
The Children Are Us Foundation is social welfare foundation helping people with mental disabilities. It operates affirmative businesses (bakeries and restaurants) to provide training and employment for disadvantaged people, and in order to diversify funding channels. These ventures contribute around 50% of annual revenue. Many literatures in Taiwan recognized it as a social enterprise. The purpose of this research was to explore consumer perception, motivation, and satisfaction for social enterprise. This research has conducted a questionnaire survey on consumers of five bakeries and restaurants that are managed by this foundation. This aim of this survey is to investigate consumer perception, motivation, and satisfaction toward this type of social enterprise.
The results revealed that consumer perception correlates with contacting type of social enterprise ventures. The results also indicated that ¡§want to help disadvantaged groups¡¨ appears to be the main reason that consumers consume in these shops. The major satisfactory factor is the service attributes associated with personnel. Significant differences are found among consumers with different demographic attributes on their perception, motivation, and satisfaction. Finally, this paper provides suggestions in two directions: finding the values shared between the social enterprises and the consumers, and cultivating social enterprise consumers.

The Study of Corporate Social Responsibility in ChinaChi, Tzu-ling 12 June 2009 (has links)
In nowadays, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) plays one kind of social function. The corporate social responsibility means that the corporations use their resources to satisfy all the related people and the morals. Coming to 21st century, people start to request corporations to do more except their professional activities with high CSR standards.
After 1949, mainland China (People Republic of China) run planned economic system and didn¡¦t allow any private economies. China government set up state-owned enterprises to produce and distributed all commodities. The state-owned enterprises had to undertake not only the commercial economic responsibility but also the social responsibility. The state-owned enterprise had to take care all the employees¡¦ families from birth to death. After the economic reform, private corporations and transnational enterprises developed rapidly. But like other developing country expanded their economy, people don¡¦t pay attention to CSR until they were aware their living environments were destroyed. The domestic corporations started to do something for the employees, customers, environment, and public welfare.

The Influence of Intentional and Situational factors on Enterprise Modelling Tool Acquisition in OrganisationsStirna, Janis January 2001 (has links)
<p>Enterprise Modelling (EM) tools are an important part ofevery EM application project. Continuous evolution of modellingmethods therefore requires efficient EM tool support. Extensiveefforts have been devoted to developing new EM tools andmodelling techniques. Considerably less attention has been paidto the aspects of acquiring and introducing EM tools inorganisations. Our grounded theory study shows that thisprocess is far from simple. It is determined by theorganisation's intentions regarding EM and by the situation inthe EM user organisation. As a contribution to this, we presentan EM tool acquisition process, which focuses on selecting anappropriate EM tool acquisition scenario for an organisation. This process has the following stages - assessing theorganisation, choosing an EM tool acquisition strategy, andfollowing the EM tool acquisition strategy. We support theprocess of evaluating the situation at hand by providingguidelines for assessing intentional and situational factorsthat influence the use of EM tools.</p><p>We also outline EM itself, along with its applicationprocess, and describe possible sources for gathering therequirements for an EM tool-set. Major requirements categoriesare discussed and analysed with respect to the goals andproblems regarding EM tools. Each category of requirements canbe satisfied to a certain degree, depending on theorganisational needs and various situational factors.</p><p>This grounded theory study provides two main contributions.Firstly, it proposes a systematic approach for EM toolacquisition supported by a set of guidelines. The approachenables an organisation to assess its needs of EM tools and itsown appropriateness for EM tool usage. As a result, an EM userorganisation is able to choose an EM tool acquisition strategythat meets the situation it faces. This is a contribution tothe overall success of practical use of EM methods and tools.Secondly, it provides an important baseline for future researchand theory building within the area of EM tool adoption andapplication. It also gives valuable information andrequirements for development of new EM tools and relatedservices.</p>

Understanding the Inflexibility of Process Integration / 企業流程整合的彈性問題探討廖凱祥, Kai-hsiang, Liao Unknown Date (has links)
無 / The objective of this study is to establish a base for understanding inflexibility, with different kinds of integration problems being examined and explained. Studies of process integration have focused mostly on the design and management of efficient operation with information technology but very little on the difficulty in making changes with tightly linked processes. In order to eliminate risks of integration failure, there is a need for deep understanding of the types and causes of inflexibility with process integration.
Based on the literature and industry experience of process integration and enterprise flexibility/inflexibility, this study proposes that inflexibility can be classified as either operational, organizational, or systems inflexibility. Sources of inflexibility have been investigated from views of business design, users’ willingness and capability, and systems designers’ designs. Cases studied shown that these three sources of inflexibility are interrelated and can reciprocally affect business performance.
Companies applying process integration may eliminate the risk of integration downsides by carefully managing business design, user willingness and system design capability. Only with a broad and thorough view of the system, people and process interactions can a firm capitalize its investment in process integration.
