We emphasized the relational field of History and Literature, notably the discursive practices of Era Nova, a magazine considered, at the time, as literary, illustrative and informative, meant for the urban middle classes. The texts we gave more attention in this work lead us to the displacement of affective relationships, especially, to the historical conditions that enable the diffusion of love as a reason for conjugal unions, as well as the association of romantic love centered on the consolidation of marriage and motherhood. We approached the intersection and influences occurred around the indications of modern, family values, gender identifications, sociability, sexual exercise and loving practices in daily life of people in the 1920s, in order to point out their social expectations. / Este trabalho intenta discutir algumas questões postas sobre o amor na revista Era Nova, que circulou na Paraíba nos anos 1920, numa perspectiva matizada pelas questões de gênero. Enfatizamos o campo relacional História e Literatura, notadamente, as práticas discursivas da Era Nova, revista que se apresentava à época como literária, ilustrada e noticiosa, destinada às classes médias urbanas. Os textos que privilegiamos nesse periódico nos reportam a deslocamentos das relações afetivas, em especial, às condições históricas que tornaram possível a difusão do amor como motivo para as uniões conjugais, igualmente a associação do amor romântico centrado na realização do casamento e da maternidade. Abordamos o cruzamento e influências sofridas entre as indicações do moderno, dos valores familiares, das identificações de gênero, das sociabilidades, do exercício sexual e práticas amorosas do cotidiano vintista, buscando apontar as expectativas sociais que ladeavam os afetos.

O cenário escolhido para tal análise foi a revista ilustrada Era Nova que circulou na Parahyba entre os anos de 1921 e 1925, recorte temporal desta pesquisa. Tal periódico estava inserido em um circuito nacional de produção impressa que anunciava e ilustrava os arquétipos da modernidade em suas páginas. A modernidade pretendida neste período tinha no campo científico e principalmente em áreas como a medicina, a eugenia, o higienismo, e o sanitarimos aliados e promotores de uma cruzada contra o atraso, a “degenerância das raças”, a sujidade e as doenças, que segundo tal pensamento assolavam o país. Destarte, nossa narrativa é norteada pela História Cultural e pela historiografia da Saúde e da Doença, assim evidenciamos os estudos das representações do corpo e das corporeidades, em diálogo com o campo das sensibilidades, na medida em que buscamos questionar as diversas formas de perceber e descrever o corpo doente e o corpo saudável bem como as estratégias de educação dos sentidos e incentivos a novas práticas cotidianas balizadas pelo discurso científico, que intentava civilizar, normatizar e medicalizar o corpo, tornando-o saudável, em dia com os preceitos médico-sanitários. / This dissertation aims to problematize the dissemination of medical hygienists speeches, medicalization and the representations of bodies in Parahyba. The setting chosen for this analysis was the illustrated magazine was circulated in New Parahyba between the years 1921 and 1925 time frame of this research. Such journal was entered in a national circuit of printed production announced and illustrated the archetypes of modernity in its pages. The intended modernity in this period had in the scientific field and especially in areas such as medicine, eugenics, hygienist, and the allies sanitarimos and promoters of a crusade against the delay, "degenerância of the races", dirt and disease, which second the thought plagued the country. Thus, our narrative is guided by cultural history and the history of health and disease, as evidenced studies of representations of the body and corporeality, in dialogue with the field of sensitivities, as we seek to question the different ways of perceiving and describe the patient's body and the body healthy and the education strategies of the senses and incentives to new daily practices buoyed by scientific discourse, that I thought to civilize, standardize and medicalize the body, making it healthy, current with the medical and health requirements .
