3D textile performs offer a high potential to increase mechanical properties of composites and they can reduce the production steps and costs as well. The variety of woven structures is enormous. The algorithms based on the conventional weaving notation can only represent the possible woven structures in a limited way. Within the scope of this dissertation, a new weaving notation was developed in order to analyze the multilayer woven structures analytically. Technological solutions were developed in order to guarantee a reproducible preform production with commingled hybrid yarns. Terry weaving technique can be utilized to create vertical connections on carrier fabrics, which makes it suitable for the development of complex profiles. A double rapier weaving machine was modified with electronically controlled terry weaving and pneumatic warp yarn pull-back systems. Various spacer fabrics and 3D profiles were developed. A linear take-up system is developed to assure reproducible preform production with a minimum material damage. Integrated cutting and laying mechanisms on the take-up system provides a high level of automation.

L'urbanisme médiéval de la ville d'origine antique de Zadar en Dalmatie / Medieval urbanism of the ancient city of Zadar in Dalmatia

Notre travail montre l’urbanisme de la ville de Zadar en Dalmatie, soit le développement de ses contenus urbains de ses débuts à l’Antiquité jusqu’à l’an 1409. Notre analyse urbanistique repose avant tout sur les monuments et autres vestiges matériels. Les sources historiques pertinentes furent bien évidemment prises en compte. Nous avons présenté la construction architecturale au cours de quatre périodes : Antiquité, Antiquité tardive, Haut Moyen Âge et Moyen Âge central et tardif. Pour chaque période, nous avons présenté les constructions de Zadar en quatre catégories distinctes d’après leur type d’architecture : fortifications, architecture profane publique, architecture profane privée et architecture sacrée. Les vestiges matériels liés à l’infrastructure de la ville furent également présentés (chaussées, canaux d’évacuation, etc.) Le développement de Zadar, à savoir la transformation de son urbanisme, fut analysé au travers de plusieurs époques en lien étroit avec la périodisation des événements historiques survenus sur la côte orientale de l’Adriatique. La période protohistorique fut également prise en compte. Notre analyse montre que la période antique définit le réseau orthogonal de voies de la cité. La construction intensive du Moyen Âge donna à la ville une physionomie urbaine qui conserva sur presque toute la surface de la cité les éléments principaux de l’urbanisme antique / This dissertation presents an analysis of the urbanism of the city of Zadar in Dalmatia, the development of the city and its urban contents from its beginnings in Antiquity until 1409. The urban analysis is based primarily upon the various surviving monuments and remnants. Relevant historical sources have also been taken into account. The different elements have been classified and presented according to four historical periods: Antiquity, Late Antiquity, Early Middle Ages, High and Late Middle Ages. Within each period, Zadar's buildings are categorised according to four typologies: Fortifications, Public Secular Structures, Private Secular Structures and Sacred Buildings. The remains of the city's infrastructure (sidewalks, drainage channels, etc.) have also been presented. The development of the city of Zadar, through its urban transformation, has been analysed through the outlined periods while keeping the usual periodization of general historic events on the eastern Adriatic coast. The protohistoric period has also been considered. Analysis has also revealed that the regular orthogonal grid of the city was defined in Antiquity, and that despite intensive construction during the medieval period when the city developed its urban physiognomy, nearly all the principle characteristics of the city established during Antiquity have been preserved.

Blockchain technology is a booming new field in both computer science and economicsand other use cases than cryptocurrencies are on the rise. Permissioned blockchains are oneinstance of the blockchain technique. In a permissioned blockchain the nodes which validatesnew transactions are trusted. Permissioned blockchains and distributed databasesare essentially two different ways for storing data, but how do they compare in terms ofperformance? This thesis compares Hyperledger Fabric to Apache Cassandra in four experimentsto investigate their insert and read latency. The experiments are executed usingDocker on an Azure virtual machine and the studied systems consist of up to 20 logicalnodes. Latency measurements are performed using varying network size and load. Forsmall networks, the insert latency of Cassandra is twice as high as that of Fabric, whereasfor larger networks Fabric has almost twice as high insert latencies as Cassandra. Fabrichas around 40 ms latency for reading data and Cassandra between 150 ms to 250 ms, thusit scales better for reading. The insert latency of different workloads is heavily affected bythe configuration of Fabric and by the Docker overhead for Cassandra. The read latency isnot affected by different workloads for either system.

Painéis sanduíche são largamente utilizadas em diversas aplicações de engenharia e o estudo de suas propriedades é fundamental para a ampliação de sua utilização. Neste trabalho, foram estudados painéis sanduíche com núcleo de poliuretano e faces de fibra de vidro fabricados pelo processo de laminação contínua. Na primeira configuração, as faces do painel foram fabricadas com manta de fibra de vidro e resina poliéster, com 39% de teor de vidro em massa e espessura de 1,9 mm. Na segunda configuração, as faces do painel foram fabricadas com tecido de fibra de vidro e resina poliéster, com 54% de teor de vidro em massa e espessura de 1,2 mm. Realizou-se o cálculo das propriedades mecânicas de cada compósito no programa MECH-Gcomp. As propriedades do núcleo foram retiradas, inicialmente, da literatura. Então, foi possível realizar a avaliação dos painéis pelo método dos elementos finitos utilizando elementos sólidos, comparando o comportamento dos dois tipos de painéis em relação aos carregamentos de compressão de núcleo, de compressão longitudinal e de flexão. Foram realizados ensaios nas faces isoladas e também nos painéis sanduíche completos. Para as faces, os ensaios foram de teor mássico de fibra de vidro, tração, compressão e cisalhamento Iosipescu, conforme as normas ASTM D5630, D3039/D3039M, D6641/D6641M e D7078/D7078M, respectivamente. Já para os painéis sanduíche, foram realizados os ensaios de compressão de núcleo, compressão longitudinal (edgewise) e cisalhamento do núcleo utilizando flexão, conforme as normas ASTM C365/C365M, C364/C364M e C393/C393M, respectivamente. Após os ensaios, foram calibrados os modelos do MEF, permitindo que os mesmos possam calcular outras configurações similares de painel sanduíche. Foi utilizado o programa Autodesk Simulation Composite Design para realizar a validação do ensaio de cisalhamento do núcleo. Concluiu-se que a análise de elementos finitos foi confiável em representar de forma realista o comportamento dos painéis sanduíche e a redução na espessura das faces do painel pode ser compensada com o aumento da sua resistência mecânica e rigidez por meio do aumento no teor mássico de reforço e trabalhando com a orientação do mesmo. / Sandwich panels are widely used in a variety of engineering applications and the study of their properties is fundamental for the expansion of their use. Fouillée depuis une trentaine d'années, Reims est surtout connue pour son passé antique. Cette étude porte sur l'urbanisation de la ville de la fin du IVe siècle au XIXe siècle. Dans cette perspective la trame parcellaire est à la fois une source et un objet d'étude. La démarche a été pensée comme une démarche archéologique. Il s'agissait d'abord de confronter les formes de l'urbain avec les données matérielles, pour renseigner des éléments qui dynamisent et structurent la ville sur la longue durée.Trois volets ont été abordés. Le premier est d'ordre méthodologique. Il interroge les outils à utiliser et mettre en place pour traiter l'ensemble de l'espace urbain Le second volet consiste en une analyse mutliscalaire de certains objets urbains pour mettre en avant des lieux structurants de la ville médiévale et moderne : réseau viaire, zone humide, quartiers à dominante ecclésiastique ou économique. Dans la lignée des Documents d'Evaluation du Patrimoine Archéologique des Villes Française, la thèse se proposait avant tout de faire un état des lieux des phases d'évolution de la ville. Un chapitre conclusif de modélisation chrono-chorématique permet de faire le point sur les informations traitées et l'évolution des éléments structurants de la ville. / Excavated for about thirty years Reims is chiefly known for its ancient past. This work is focused on the city urbanisation from the end of the 4th century until the middle of the 19th century. In this perspective the plot frame is both a source and object of study. In an archaeological approach, I compare the urban forms first with material data, then with ecological data and archieves, to inform elements that drive and structure the city over the long term.Three main approaches were followed. The first one is methodological. It questions tools to create to threat all of the urban space. The second line consists of analysing urban objects from diferent scales to highlight structuring spaces : road network, wet zone, economic or ecclesiastical areas. Like Documents d'Evaluation du Patrimoine Archéologique des Villes Française, the purpose of this study was to the evolution of the city phases. A concluding chapter of chrono-chorematic modeling allows to review the data threated and the evolution of structural elements of Rheims.

Derramamentos de petróleo geraram o aumento da atenção de órgãos governamentais e civis quanto a estudos e técnicas para minimizar os danos aos recursos ambientais e socioeconômicos causados por este tipo de acidente. O desenvolvimento de técnicas e os estudos relacionados à prevenção e resposta aos acidentes busca maior eficiência na resposta à contingência e à diminuição dos danos ambientais e socioeconômicos causados na área atingida. A Carta de Sensibilidade Ambiental ao Derramamento de Óleo (Carta SAO) é uma importante ferramenta para a diminuição de danos causados ao ambiente, para o planejamento ambiental na prevenção e na reposta a acidentes em locais de armazenamento e transporte de hidrocarbonetos, tais como dutos, ferrovias, rodovias, etc. Na Carta SAO, para áreas de exposição de sedimentos e rochas sedimentares, procura-se quantificar e qualificar uma determinada área que apresente vulnerabilidade e sensibilidade ao óleo, ou seja, estipular a área e as características intrínsecas do terreno que apresenta alguma probabilidade de ser atingido por óleo, considerando também atividades de resposta. As características dos sedimentos existentes em áreas vulneráveis permitem a determinação de sua sensibilidade, assim buscou-se estudar os parâmetros sedimentares mais influentes na determinação da sensibilidade ambiental do terreno, como a granulometria e seleção, os quais influenciam a porosidade e permeabilidade do terreno, e o cruzamento dessas informações com a declividade do terreno. A fim de testar a eficiência desses parâmetros, o estudo foi aplicado na Bacia do Ribeirão Tamanduá, na região de Cravinhos (SP), por ser interceptada pelo Duto OSBRA e a área de exposição dos arenitos da Formação Botucatu. / Oil spills have resulted in increased awareness among government and private agencies regarding studies and techniques to minimize damages caused by this type of accident to environmental and socio-economic resources. The development of techniques and the studies for prevention and response to accidents is intended to achieve greater effectiveness in dealing with this type of contingency and to decrease the environmental and socio-economic damage to the areas affected by oil spills. The Environmental Sensitivity Index Map for Oil Spills (ESI Map) is an important tool that helps to decrease the damage caused to the environment. It is also useful in planning prevention and responding to accidents in storage areas and in transporting hydrocarbons, in ducts, by rail, road, etc. The purpose of the ESI Map is to quantify and qualify certain areas of exposed sediments and sedimentary rocks that are vulnerable or present sensitivity to oil. In other words, stipulate the area and the intrinsic characteristics of the ground that may receive an oil spill, and considering the response actions. The characteristics of existing sediments in vulnerable areas allow the determination of the area\'s sensitivity. As a result, the study focused on the sedimentary parameters with greatest influence in determining the area\'s environmental sensitivity, such as granulometry and grain selection, which have an influence in the ground\'s porosity and permeability, and cross-referencing this information with the declivity of the ground. In order to test the efficiency of these parameters, the study was implemented in the Bacia do Ribeirão do Tamanduá, in the Cravinhos (SP) region, because it intercepts the OSBRA oil pipeline and an area with exposed sandstone from the Botucatu Formation.

Em função de uma forte e crescente demanda do mercado consumidor de vestuário de proteção por maior conforto, considerando entre outros aspectos o fato que o conforto interfere no uso e proteção, aliado ao fato do Brasil ter clima predominantemente quente e úmido, e a inexistência de trabalhos e estudos referentes ao tema na área, este trabalho objetivou realizar um estudo das características relacionadas ao conforto, dos têxteis, (tecidos), utilizados nas vestimentas destinadas à proteção frente a riscos de origem térmica (calor e fogo) no mercado brasileiro. Após a seleção de onze produtos como objeto de estudo da pesquisa, realizou-se ensaios de transporte de umidade em tecidos, resistência ao vapor de água, ensaios de conforto físico e ergonômico (ensaio de massa laminar e Kawabata Evalution System (KES), e o Termo Labo II para avaliação da condutividade térmica e propriedades de retenção de calor / Consumers, while seeking for more comfort, have a strong and growing demand for protective clothing. Considering that comfort interferes on the use and protection, and also taking into account that Brazilian weather is predominantly hot and humid and there are no papers or studies about this subject, this work aimed to study the features related to the comfort of fabrics that are used to make clothes designed to protect from thermal hazards (heat and fire) in Brazilian market. Le propos de cette thèse est d’analyser les transformations urbaines de Rome (rénovation dans le centre-ville, urbanisation des périphéries) entre 1922 et 1945 à travers les investissements d’un des plus puissants acteurs du secteur immobilier, l’Istituto Nazionale delle Assicurazioni (INA). L’INA était une entreprise parapublique d’assurance fondée en 1912. Il ne s’agit nullement de dresser un simple portrait de l’activité immobilière d’une des plus grandes entreprises italiennes, mais bien de comprendre l’action de ce type d’opérateur dans la production de bâti et la fabrique de la ville au sein d’un réseau complexe d’acteurs. Cela nécessite une bonne connaissance du contexte politique, économique et social du ventennio fasciste, des évolutions du tissu urbain de la commune de Rome et surtout du réseau d’acteurs économiques et institutionnels qui agissent sur la ville. A partir de l’inventaire des propriétés immobilières de l’INA à Rome, deux rôles de l’INA dans la fabrique de la ville ont été mis en lumière, celui de constructeur d’immeubles de logements et de bureaux et celui de financeur des grandes opérations urbaines du régime. / This thesis examines the urban transformations of Rome between 1922 and 1945 (urban renewal in the city centre and urban sprawl beyond the antique walls) through the investments of one of the Fascist period's most significant property agents, the Istituto Nazionale delle Assicurazioni (INA). The INA was a semi-public company, founded in 1912. The aim of this work is not only to delineate the real estate activity of one of Italy's biggest corporations but to understand the systems and complex network of agents employed by such an operator within the urban fabric. This requires a sophisticated local knowledge of the political, economic and social context of the Fascist period, of the developments of the Roman urban fabric and, most of all, of the complex network of economic and institutional agents acting on the city. From the inventory of INA properties in Rome, a dual function has been established for the company: that of constructing houses and offices, and that of funding the regime's large-scale urban projects.
