Mäkeläinen, Isabella January 2019 (has links)
There are ideas that cities today compete in a global market in terms of investments, tourism and residents. This competition is based on the notion that cities' opportunity for development is dependent on human capital and financial flows. Which is seen as a limited resource; thus, the competition prevails. Providing well-planned and attractive meeting places in the city's public spaces is not only an important part of the cities' quest for growth but is also important for the social community. The public space acts as a space for individuals and groups where meetings can take place, dialogues can be conducted and ideas can be exchanged. The aim of this study was to investigate how families with children as a community group use and experience Umeå citycenter as a public space, and in what way they think the room could be made more attractive. To fulfil this studies purpose, a literature review has been carried out, in order to create an understanding of the concept of public space, meeting place and accessibility. Then a qualitative interview methodology has been utilized, where 14 families with children have been interviewed. The analysis of the study's theoretical framework and empirical evidence shows that Umeå's citycenter is characterized by a number of qualities. Among many of the families with children interviewed, the supply and resources are the primary cause of visiting the center. While a couple of the interviewed families with children mean that the place and the public environment are the strongest reasons for visiting the center. Based on the respondents' thoughts and opinions about the public space, it appears that accessibility and the range of activities have a huge influence on how the room is used and how the environment is perceived. In summary, the respondents gave a picture of the public space being of great importance for both individuals, different social groups and for the whole of society.

A quantitative study about which communication channels families with children prefer to get attractive offers through.

Strömer, Anna, Schludermann, Katarina January 2017 (has links)
Olika egenskaper hos kommunikationskanalerna föredras hos olika individer. / Background: In today's society, it becomes increasingly difficult for companies to reach their prospective customers. In order to reach their customers, companies can convey messages through communication channels that have varying characteristics. Communication channels can be divided into traditional and modern communication channels. Different characteristics of the communication channels are preferred by different individuals. Families with children constitutes a significant part of the consumption of food as they purchase fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) to a greater extent than the remaining family constellations. As a result, this target group becomes a key target for food retailers. In this regard, more thorough knowledge from the food store's perspective is required to apply the right communication channel to reach the target families with children, in a manner preferred by the target audience. Purpose: To investigate which of the modern and/ or traditional communication channels, families with children prefer from a food store when an attractive message is conveyed. Reference Framework: The essay is based on theories such as the communication process, general differences for the modern and traditional communication channels and communication direction. Furthermore, the theoretical frame of reference is based on previously studied material from scientific articles. Method: The methodological approach is based on a quantitative method and the empirical material has been collected through a quantitative questionnaire survey. Result: The results of the survey show that the preferred communication channel for the target audience is e-mail. E-mail had a high percentage share compared to the remaining communication channels that were included in the survey. Furthermore, the results suggest that modern communication channels are preferred to traditional communication channels.

The ideal affective-sexual relation considered is the heterosexual monogamous marriage with children. The Christianism and later, the Science validated a heteronormativity. According to this, there are many myths related to the homosexuality and, consequently, for the homosexual families with children, sustained critics related to the well-being of children and teenagers who live with these families. On the other hand, there are critics in relation to the homosexual people who are looking for a marriage and also desire kids in their relation; this , for some authors, would correspond to a reproduction of actual hegemonical rules. According to this, the present study search for describing and understanding the experience and living for lesbian mothers, gay fathers and their children as active authors from this research about their familiar configuration, the familiar relationship and their relations with the society. Twelve couples (seven male couples and five female couples) and their children participated into this research. They are from Ceará, São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro states. Twenty-three children and teenagers, from 5 to 18 years old, were interviewed; all of them attend to the regular school program. The method, which was used in this research, was the Grounded Theory and, as a complementary method to data dealing, the analysis of the content. The results showed that the familiar conception, according to the fathers, the mothers or the children, are related to the affective feelings and its quality into the established relation. The children showed that there are affection and happiness into their relation with the families. Therefore, the homophobia, the racial prejudice, in relation to some children, and the adoption prejudice permeate the relation between these families and the society. The schools seem not to be prepared to deal with the familiar and sexual diversity, in spite of some institutions try to receive the members of these families. Many mothers and fathers describe the importance of the visibility and representativity of homosexuality and homoaffective families with children in the broadcast midia, as well as the participation of LGBT social movement, in the associations or groups related to the LGBT issues or adoptions. The results of this study show that the members from the interviewed families, in spite of sometimes, reproduced values considered traditional and heteronormative, transform the social order from the affection valorization and also from the socio-affective feeling into the familiar relation to the detriment of biological relation and from the expectatives of antagonic gender from the partners. O cristianismo e, posteriormente, a ciência, validou a heteronormatividade.

Křesťanová, Jana January 2015 (has links)
The development of the birth rate and preschool education in the Czech Republic after 1950 Abstract The main aim of the thesis is to map in detail the development of preschool education and financial support for families with children in the Czech Republic in the context of the development of birth rate after 1950. The development of birth rate in the thesis is not only analyzed by using basic indicators, but also through deeper decomposition methods. It turns out, that quality and availability of all network preschool institutions in the context has a certain role in the birth rate. The reconciliation of work and family is very important for lots of parents and sufficient offer of preschool care can help it. However, the demand for preschool institutions exceeded supply, as was shown in accordance with obtained data. It was also found out by the insight into the outcomes of surveys that the vast majority of respondents do not think that a preschool child of working mother would be suffering. In the future, should not only expand the capacity of childcare facilities as well as other options for facilitation of reconciling work and family life, such as better offer of flexible working hours. Keywords: birth rate, decomposition, preschool facilities, financial support for families with children, surveys,...
