Which contextualization of the teaching of French outside of France ?

Doucet, Céline 23 September 2011 (has links)
Which contextualization of the teaching of French outside of France ?The purpose of this thesis is to study the contextualization of French-language didactics outside France. Based on fieldwork conducted in Louisiana and Western Australia, this research is part of a comprehensive approach. Firstly, I will analyse the didactic guidelines for French-language teaching with a close look at the eventual forms contextualization. Secondly, I will explain the reasons for these choices. This research is based on the historical and sociolinguistic study of two cases examining whether the teaching of French outside France is strictly based on a universal perspective or whether it can be contextualized. I will also analyse the factors of contextualization involved and will suggest some means of evolution.

KADLECOVÁ, Alena January 2007 (has links)
This thesis deals with the description of the contemporary situation in the French language teaching in the Czech Republic with a view to the comparison of traditional and alternative teaching methods. The first part of the thesis consists of the description of the historical development of the teaching methods and their characteristics. Then I point out the problems related to the classification of the teaching methods and their division into two main groups of traditional and alternative methods. The comparison of the two groups of methods is included in the third chapter of the thesis. In the last part a questionnaire was used to find out the opinions of teachers and students and I also show selected data concerning the contemporary situation in foreign languages teaching in the school year 2005/ 2006.

A New Application of Literature - The Application of Literary Works in French Language Teaching in Chinese Higher Education

Li, Qin 23 May 2009 (has links)
The literary works are losing their privileged position which they used to hold in French language teaching in Chinese higher education. It reminds us of a series of questions about French literature and its role: Which position did the literary works take in the history of French language education in China? What is their current level and are they still useful? What shall we do in looking for a new method in order to make full use of them in education? Starting from a study of the French language teaching evolution in China, relying on an analysis of interviews organized by Chinese teachers and students, and based on the related theories and personal reflections, in this academic paper, I justify the advantages of French literature in language teaching and propose the possible solutions to promote the position of literary works in French language teaching in Chinese higher education.

The syllabus of this subject has been designed with regard to a geographical and socio-cultural framework, which does not match with Mozambican learners. It is spoken about France and the French who designed the textbook, which is used as teaching material in the secondary school in Mozambique. This textbook bridges information, which is unfamiliar to Mozambican learners of French. The aim of teaching and learning French in Mozambique, at school level, is to have learners achieve proficiency in this language in order for them to be able to communicate in various circumstances at school, university and elsewhere. The Mozambican learner, therefore, should be able to read, understand, write discourses related to school, university and elsewhere life, in his/her daily life, bearing in mind that most literature is in French. This research employs the translation method of macua tale as a cultural text in the process of teaching and learning French, the driving force in the cultural signification of learning and in the acquisition of communicative competence. The pedagogic experiment of this method and the interviews carried out teachers of French have revealed that learners can achieve linguistic competence necessary to be a successful grade 12 certificate holder in the final nation-wide examinations / A língua francesa é uma das disciplinas do currículo nas escolas secundárias, e mesmo nas universidades, do terrritório nacional moçambicano.

Une langue en mission : histoire des politiques linguistiques et didactiques françaises en Palestine / A language on mission : a history of french language and teaching planning in Palestine

Rubio Rostom, Clémentine 12 June 2018 (has links)
Based upon the interpretation of diplomatic archives, this doctoral thesis presents an understanding of the history of French language teaching in Palestine, from the diplomatic point of view. It aims at studying the political and symbolical goals guiding the evolution of the French teaching network. At the crossroads of issues common to the fields of French as a second language and sociolinguistics, it will focus on the conceptions of language and of alterity underlying the French language spread policy. The thesis also seeks to characterize language planning policy in a specific territory: Palestine. Those questions allow us to formulate the hypothesis of continuity in the type of relationships established through French language teaching and to put in perspective the spreading policy with an appropriation policy.
