Traditionen und Perspektiven im Werk von Erich Fromm

Lévy, Alfred 12 December 2000 (has links)
Erich Fromms (1900-1980) sources are disclosed of his biography, of his judaistic thoughts (especially of des prophets and the talmud), of the sociologic concepts (Alfred and Max Weber), of the religious and philosophical humanists, of the early Karl Marx and of the psychoanalysis Sigmund Freuds. The analysis follows in chronologic order Fromms concepts of an ethical inspired psychoanalysis, of his socialpsychology, of his judaistic, christian and buddhist psychology of religion, of his project of an non-theistic humanistic religion, of the matriarchat, oft the Marxism and the derived humanistic communitarian Socialism, of the culture-analysis and critique. In detail are Fromms famous sociopolitical researches on the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Protestantism, the Kapitalism, the Nationalsocialism, the Kommunism, the technic and the aggression (destructivity) described. This leads to the terms of the social-character , the consum- and marketing-charakter and the necrophily . The work ends with the valuation and critique of Fromms ouevre especially in the parts of the socialpsychology, the theory of aggression and pedagogy. The evaluation is made with the character of the modern youth of the year 2000 and the modern social-character. As methods are used: history and critique of religion, depth-psychology (psychoanalysis and individualpsychology).

Porovnávání pohledu na člověka u Karla Marxe, Sigmunda Freuda a jejich následovníků / Comparison of the point of view on human being as seen by Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud and their descendants

Havel, Jan January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this paper it to observe different approaches to human beings. Two major points of view will be that of Karl Marx and of Sigmund Freud. In which apects are their deffinitions of human being, behavior and thinking processes different and in which are they similar? How are their ideas transferred in the work of oher authors and where does it lead? Is it possible to find similar streams in the work of their followers? These are the two major questions that this paper will try to answer. Another meaning this paper should have is to create a meanigful and coherent source of various authors who were involved in examination of human being.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Oswaldo Henrique Duek Marques.pdf: 995964 bytes, checksum: a677e6a03805227f7a6aa2cd85b5fbb9 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2015-08-14 / This work analyses Erich Fromm s psychoanalytical contributions to the understanding of Nazism and its intrinsic anti-Semitism by conducting a theoretical research in Psychoanalysis, while taking into account the historical and philosophical basis. In the first chapter we focus on the historical aspects of Nazism and anti-Semitism. In the second chapter, we discuss psychoanalytical contributions from de the Freudian field in order to reflect on the question of Nazism from a psychoanalytical point of view, as an introduction to Fromm s ideas on this topic. In the third and final chapter, we study aspects of Nazism and anti-Semitism in Fromm s works. In the conclusion, we present Fromm s main psychoanalytical contributions to these themes. Through a critical and reflexive analysis this work attempts to demonstrate this author s crucial contribution to the psychoanalytic understanding of Nazism and Anti-Semitism. The value of this research resides in the fact that no deep and specific study on Fromm s psychoanalytic contributions to the understanding of these topics has been found. The referred issues are still current in today s world, as they reveal, from a psychoanalytical standpoint, the mechanisms that unleash the discrimination and intolerance in totalitarian regimes / Este estudo analisa as contribuições psicanalíticas de Erich Fromm para a compreensão do nazismo e do antissemitismo nele inserido, por meio de pesquisa teórica em Psicanálise, sem afastar as bases históricas e filosóficas.

The study of national character in the post war era : the work of Erich Fromm, David Riesman, and David Potter

Rittenberg, Adam 01 January 1988 (has links)
This thesis examines the study of national character through the work of the psychologist Erich Fromm, the sociologist David Riesman, and the historian David Potter. Above all Intend to provide a critical exegesis of the three thinkers will relate them to one another by discussing the Interconnections In their thought, beginning with Fromm's social psychological theory of character, turning to Riesman's theory of sociology and, finally, Potter's theory of American history. Each, I argue, must be studied in the context his time--above all the climate of horror and uncertainty at mid-century.

Lindahl, Rasmus January 2012 (has links)

A psychosocial perspective on the personality development of the serial murderer

De Wet, Johan Andrew 05 October 2005 (has links)
The phenomenon of serial murder is a crime characterised by a paucity of scientific information and an excess of popularised fictional material, contributing to the existence of inaccurate perceptions of serial murder. Although serial murder has been committed since the fourteenth century it only gained notoriety with the intense media coverage of the Jack the Ripper case in 1888. One of the most important reasons for society’s morbid fascination with this phenomenon is because of the view of it as a “motiveless crime”. Available literature shows that research undertaken to determine the origin and the motivation behind serial homicide generally focuses on singular aspects of serial murder. In most cases the research is directed by theories of the psychoanalytic school, most notably that of Sigmund Freud. Another research approach is to develop models and methods for classifying serial killers. Despite the value of these models and the research that has been done the information they can provide is limited. In most cases the research and the models focus on singular aspects associated with the development of serial murderers, for example, the internal conflicts experienced by the child. The goal of this study is to determine which internal and external factors influence the personality development of the serial murderer. The research therefore focuses on how these factors were internalised and expressed behaviourally by the individual. To achieve this the psychosocial perspective, which consisted of three psychological theories, was used to determine the role of both internal and external influences in the personality development of the individual. The method of research deemed most suitable to undertake the study is the qualitative approach, and more specifically the explanatory case study method. The data for the research was obtained by using a semi-structured interview and relevant documentation concerning each of the two case studies. Seven research questions were formulated to find answers to the personality development of the serial murderer and his behaviour. The questions were also formulated to ensure the validity of the data and to substantiate the findings based on the psychosocial perspective. The psychosocial perspective was used to analyse the two case studies and to compile a detailed explanation for the personality development and the personality structure of each of the serial murderers. The three psychological theories were combined in such a way that it could show the influence of internal and external factors on the personality development. This included the influence of the family atmosphere as well as behaviour and personality types that developed. In conclusion the extent to which answers were obtained regarding the seven research questions and the extent to which the aim of the research has been achieved is highlighted. Finally recommendations are made concerning future research and possible areas on which researchers should focus. / Dissertation (MA (Psychology))--University of Pretoria, 2006. / Psychology / unrestricted

Det förbannade intellektet : En essä om hur tänkandet stör en konstnärlig praktik / The accursed intellect : An essay about how mind interfere with an artist ́s bodily practice

Björk, Carola January 2023 (has links)
In this essay, which is written as a scientific essay, I examine the artist's practical knowledge based on a situation where I paint. What I am interested in is how thinking affects bodily action. Henri Bergson, Erich Fromm and Japanese Zen Buddhism are perspectives I use to survey the theme. Fromm has made clear, that love is an attitude that means I am concentrated in the meeting with others. Being able to concentrate and the ability to make love an end in itself, is synonymous. To avoid plagiarizing previous work, I need to love working. Bergson has shown that intuition and intellect are two forms of consciousness and fundamental in the experience of reality. Two forms of knowledge. If I plan what I am going to paint, my point of departure is the intellect which inhibit the work. If I instead start from intuition, I let the present time add something new to the work. What Zen has shown and emphasized, is that my behavior indicate whether I am present or not. Practically practicing being present enables you to react spontaneously on reality instead of planning your actions. The theoretical perspectives agree on the importance of being present. And also, what is important is not to choose one or the other. What is essential is both. The meeting between me and others. Intuition and intellect. As well as a behavior that reacts spontaneously and plans. What the essay has shown is that there is an imbalance between the two forms of knowledge, intellect and intuition, in a Western context. A summary question the essay asks is: what impact does it have on man as a biological being if a natural way of experiencing life, is not affirmed?
