Relationen och beteendets inverkan på observatörens skattningar av aktörens beteende : Skattas vännen alltid som vänligare än främlingen?

Fundamental solutions for wave equation in de Sitter model of universe

Yagdjian, Karen, Galstian, Anahit January 2007 (has links)
In this article we construct the fundamental solutions for the wave equation arising in the de Sitter model of the universe. We use the fundamental solutions to represent solutions of the Cauchy problem and to prove the Lp − Lq-decay estimates for the solutions of the equation with and without a source term.

A Capital Market Test of Representativeness

Safdar, Mohammad 2012 May 1900 (has links)
While some prior studies document that investors overreact to information in sales growth as consistent with representativeness bias, other studies find no evidence of investor overreaction to either sales or earnings growth. Other recent studies also show that sales growth does not predict stock returns after controlling for changes in outstanding shares and asset growth. I reexamine the role of representativeness by investigating whether the effects of this bias are confounded by the presence of another effect that has been extensively documented - investors' underreaction to fundamentals. Adjusting for investor under-reaction to fundamentals, I document strong evidence that investors overreact to sales growth as predicted under representativeness despite adding accruals, asset growth, and equity issuance as additional controls. In cross-sectional regressions of future stock returns on predictive variables that control for fundamentals, changes in equity shares, accruals, and lagged 36 month returns, I find that the coefficient on sales growth is highly significant over both the full sample period 1970-2009 (t-stat -3.12). Furthermore, asset growth, equity issuance, and accruals lose much of their significance in favor of sales growth. I also provide evidence that rejects a theory based on fixation in favor of representativeness. These results document evidence of overreaction to past sales growth in firms where underreaction to fundamentals does not confound the overreaction due to representativeness bias.

The Study to ¡§Right to Education¡¨ of the R.O.C. Constitution

Hsiang, Cheng-hua 03 February 2005 (has links)
This study intends to explore if ¡§right to education¡¨ is guaranteed by the Constitution in our country and, furthermore, tries to construct a new theoretical framework for clarifying the function and scope of protection of ¡§right of education¡¨. This paper reviews various theories with regard to ¡§right to education¡¨ and finds a great diversity on this issue. According to the author, such a variety occurred because two characteristics of clause of fundamental rights--statutorization and openness-- have rarely been emphasized in discussing ¡§right to education¡¨. Therefore, this paper tries to develop a new theory based upon the ¡§scope of constitutional protection¡¨. The ¡§scope of constitutional protection¡¨ should accord with the scope of people¡¦s life. This concept leads to a new theory regarding interpretation method¡X¡§system¡¨ and ¡§systematic fallacy¡¨. Based upon the new theoretical framework, this paper criticizes the Judicial Yuan Interpretation No. 563 as defective in interpretational logic and interpretation method.

Arithmetic reflection groups and congruence subgroups

Lakeland, Grant Stephen 12 July 2012 (has links)
This thesis investigates the geometric and topological constraints placed on the quotient space of a Fuchsian or Kleinian group by requiring that the group admits a fundamental domain which is simultaneously a Ford domain and a Dirichlet domain. In the case of Fuchsian groups, a direct correspondence with reflection groups is proved, and this result is used to first find explicitly the 23 non-cocompact arithmetic maximal hyperbolic reflection groups in the group of isometries of the hyperbolic plane, and subsequently to test whether these groups are all congruence. In the case of Kleinian groups, similar results are shown, and some examples of reflection groups are considered. / text

Mathematics and general education

Ruthven, Kenneth Borthwick Howard January 1981 (has links)
My purpose in Part I is to develop a model of general mathematical education: that is, to identify aims appropriate to a course of mathematical education which forms part of a programme of general education. To do so presumes, of course, that it is possible to justify both the inclusion of mathematics-related aims and content in the curriculum, and their organisation around a unit entitled 'mathematics'. I will offer arguments for both these presuppositions, as well as for my model of general mathematical education.
