Isto tem reflexo direto no planeta, que, a cada dia vê seus recursos naturais diminuindo, o que pode levar à sua não sustentabilidade. A questão ambiental é foco de discussão em várias áreas de estudos e, nesse sentido, a presente pesquisa constitui uma abordagem da problemática no âmbito do setor moveleiro. Assim, este estudo concentra-se no modo como as empresas deste setor tratam as questões ambientais, caracterizando a integração entre design e sustentabilidade na concepção atual da produção brasileira de móveis. Para tanto, tem-se como estudo de caso as empresas de porte médio, fabricantes de móveis residenciais seriados do Pólo Moveleiro de Arapongas (PR), que tenham a sustentabilidade inserida em seus processos de desenvolvimento e produção de produtos. Os objetivos específicos visam identificar as práticas ambientais que possam ser relacionadas com o ecodesign e a sua importância nas indústrias de móveis, compreendendo o atual cenário do design sustentável no setor, caracterizar a função do designer no processo projetual, destacando as técnicas projetuais utilizadas sob o enfoque da sustentabilidade ambiental na produção moveleira; e por meio de estudo de caso, verificar as atitudes implantadas para o design ambientalmente adequado. Os resultados sinalizam que as empresas analisadas já se posicionam favoravelmente às questões ambientais, participando de programas relacionados ao tema. No entanto, faz-se necessário uma intervenção maior no atual modelo projetual e produtivo para que o ecodesign seja implantado em sua totalidade. Atualmente, a presença do designer já é constante na formação das equipes responsáveis por novos produtos das empresas avaliadas. This has a direct influence on the planet, which, day-by-day watches its natural resources decreasing, what may lead to its non-sustainability. The environmental issue is the focus of discussion in several study and, according to this, the present research consists on a problematic approach in the furniture sector's context. Therefore this study focuses on how these sector's companies deal with environmental issues featuring the integration between design and sustainability in the current conception of the Brazilian furniture production. In order to do this, we have as case study midsize companies of residential manufacturers serialized in the Arapongas (PR)'s Furniture Complex, that have the sustainability inserted in its developing and products production processes. The specific goal aims to identify the environmental practices which can be related to ecodesign and its importance in the furniture industry comprehending the currently scenery of the sustainable design in the sector. Also aims to characterize the designer's function in the projecting process, highlighting the projecting techniques utilized under the function of environmental sustainability in furniture industry, and through cases studies' means aims to verify the implanted attitudes for the appropriate environmental design. The results signalize that the analyzed companies have positioned themselves in a favorable way to environmental questions, taking part in programs related to the theme. However it is necessary to make a bigger intervention in the present projecting and productive model, so that the ecodesign can be implemented in its totality. Previous issue date: 2009-08-28 / This master's thesis aims to ascertain how the Stakeholders interactions influence the adoption of green marketing strategies from the perspective of the Alpha Company, a furniture industry located in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The methodology has a qualitative approach and uses the exploratorydescriptive case study method as model of formal and systematic study. Following the theoretical and
conceptual propositions of Polonsky (1995), Michell, Angle and Wood (1997) and Frooman (1999) as a reference base. This study identifies and assesses the importance degree of the relevant stakeholders, shows their expectations and needs and describes the tactics used by the company for the implementation of green marketing strategies. The study describes the reality of a furniture industry in Rio Grande do Norte, and shows his philosophy and background; identifies present stakeholders that influence the decision process of the company and also, analyzes the degree of importance of each group showing their needs and expectations and, finally, it states the changes in the organization with the implementation of green marketing strategies. The results it s concluded that stakeholders are taken into consideration in the adoption of green marketing strategies, even without a
proper strategic perception from the company, an imperative to advance towards the adoption of the green marketing philosophy. The environmentally responsible companies have looked for strategies to minimize the environmental impacts of its products and processes and at the same time they try to be more competitive. The end-of-pipe technologies are no longer enough to evolve towards sustainability; it is necessary efficient pro-active attitudes as the integration of the environment during the development process of the products. The purpose of this study is to draw a panorama about the question of the environmental sustainability during the products development process at the furniture industry in the city of Santa Maria, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, trying to show ways to make better the environmental sustainability of the sector. It was carried out a literature review where it was analyzed the strategies and tools known, which could be relevant to the development process of the products and also help to better understand the opportunities that are already being used. The development process was divided in the pre-production-phase represented by the furniture designers, production-manufacture-phase, represented by the furniture factories and post-production-distribution phase represented by the stores that work with furniture. It was analyzed separately the strategies and tools that can be used in each phase. After, it was carried out a qualitative survey through a questionnaire with different actors involved in the process (designers, store owners, manufacturers) where it was evaluated the environmental posture of the sector as a whole. After, based on the result got in the survey, it was suggested some improvement opportunities in the furniture sector in Santa Maria in favor of the environmental sustainability without forgetting the main obstacles to such opportunities and ways of surrounding them. / As empresas ambientalmente responsáveis têm procurado estratégias para minimizar os impactos ambientais negativos de seus produtos e processos e ao mesmo tempo intensificar sua competitividade. As tecnologias de fim-de-tubo já não são suficientes para evoluir em direção à sustentabilidade, fazem-se necessárias atitudes pró-ativas eficientes como a integração do meio ambiente ao longo do processo de desenvolvimento dos produtos. O objetivo deste estudo é traçar um panorama acerca da questão da sustentabilidade ambiental ao longo do processo de desenvolvimento de produtos na indústria moveleira do município de Santa Maria, Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, procurando apontar diretrizes para a melhoria ambiental do setor. Para isso foi realizada uma revisão de literatura onde se procurou analisar as estratégias e ferramentas mais conhecidas que fossem relevantes ao processo de desenvolvimento de produtos. Para melhor entendimento das oportunidades de melhorias existentes dividiu-se o processo de desenvolvimento de produtos em: pré-produção fase de projeto representada pelos projetistas ou designers de móveis; produção fase de manufatura representada pelas indústrias moveleiras; pós-produção fase de distribuição representada pelos estabelecimentos comerciais que trabalham com móveis. Analisaram-se separadamente estratégias e ferramentas que podem ser aplicadas em cada etapa. Após foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa por meio de questionário com os diferentes atores envolvidos no processo em questão (projetistas, fabricantes e lojistas) através dos quais se buscou avaliar a postura ambiental do setor como um todo. Após, com base no resultado da pesquisa, foram propostas oportunidades de melhoria para o setor moveleiro de Santa Maria em prol da sustentabilidade ambiental sem deixar de citar as principais barreiras para tais oportunidades e maneiras de contorná-las.

Three clicks away : A multiple case study of how technologies change the customer journey in the retail furniture sector.Adolfsson, Elin, Edström, Julia, Övringe, Wilma January 2021 (has links)
The digital world is constantly growing. This contributes to increasing expectations and demands in the technical aspect. Digitization is powerful, but it further contributes to a number of challenges, such as the coordination of physical and digital stores. During the corona pandemic, the digital transformation has accelerated for companies to adapt to customers. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to understand how swedish retailers can manage technological touchpoints in customer journeys in the furniture sector. Further the purpose is to investigate how retailers can use technological touchpoints to change the quality and customer engagement in the customer journey. To be able to answer the empirical findings, six semi-structured interviews were obtained through a multiple case study. The theory from previous research and the empirical results were then discussed in the analysis. The conclusion of the thesis resulted in the management of digital touchpoints is different depending on whether it concerns companies using physical stores or e-commerce. This thesis has identified that retailers in the furniture sector manage technological touchpoints to create a seamless customer experience, increase customer satisfaction, more easily engage customers and to be able to integrate with customers in several ways. Digital touchpoints have made it easier for companies to measure results and to be able to improve the customer journey. One identification was that customer engagement has increased in relation to the increased digitalization, but also that the researched companies believe that digitization is vital for increasing customer engagement. Due to the technology, opportunities are created to be able to develop the quality of the customer journey. Further, by being able to measure the customer journey, the companies gain an insight into what should be constantly improved.

O estudo baseou-se na análise de empresas localizadas no polo moveleiro da serra gaúcha e pertencentes a esse segmento. A investigação delineou-se por uma pesquisa qualitativa de estudo de caso. A partir deste, foram identificadas as lacunas existentes no segmento em estudo, em relação ao contexto de estímulo e desenvolvimento de inovações por meio do design. No que concerne à proposta de melhorias às lacunas identificadas, as contribuições referem-se, diretamente, ao uso do design estratégico. Com o intuito de promover o desenvolvimento de inovações, este estudo apresentou, através do design estratégico, sugestões e subsídios relevantes para aplicação no setor moveleiro gaúcho. / This paper presents the research which aimed at identifying contributions of strategic design for the stimulation of innovation at the wooden - rectilinear, in series – home furniture segment of Rio Grande do Sul State's furniture sector. The study was based on the analysis of companies located at the Rio Grande do Sul Sierra's furniture pole belonging to this segment. Investigation was outlined by a case study, qualitative research. From this case study, existing gaps were identified in the studied segment concerning the stimulus context and the development of innovations through design. As for the suggestions for improvement on the identified gaps, contributions point directly to the use of strategic design. Aiming at promoting innovation development, this study presented, through strategic design, relevant suggestions and subsidies for application on the Rio Grande to Sul State's furniture sector.
