The examination of imagination - An example of B&B managers

Ke, Hsiu-hua 05 October 2012 (has links)
Recently, imagination and creativity is seen as keys for innovation and success factors .Imagination can create new idea and invent new things. It¡¦s a critical role to develop new markets for enterprises or dominate new industries. Meanwhile, the imagination is related to future. When imagination is use to predict the future, it is necessary to combine the knowledge base, creativity and the ideal value, and its focus is not on the accuracy of the prophecy, but rather the thoughts and actions triggered by this process. The new thinking is that the source of organizational innovation should come from the imagination of the leaders, business leaders must understand the vision and imagination influence than all other external information. Different from typical hotel industry, B&Bs give tourists more than just a place to stay, instead, they provide a place which full of local cultural and characteristics to enjoy. Since Taiwan government allowed resident of China visiting Taiwan from July 2008, B&Bs play a important role to attract these tourist. Therefore, more and more people started their business in B&Bs industry, but not everyone can be successful. So in this study, I focus on what relations are between the success in B&Bs and imagination? What is imagination process?

To walk with giants: a collection of short fiction and poetry

Valdez, Reynaldo Alexander 15 May 2009 (has links)
My thesis is a collection of my own original poetry and short fiction written as a kind of response to Walt Whitman's "Song of Myself." Instead of having Whitman continue to represent me through his poem, I wish to represent myself through my own poetry. I attempted to create a new kind of fiction and poetry from the perspective of a Hispanic who has less of a tie to Mexico or the homeland and more of the cultural influences of the United States. Instead of focusing on differences between myself and the dominant culture, I attempted to discuss in chapter II my philosophy concerning subjects such as; war, religion, time and space, and society. In chapter III, I tried to reconcile various cultural mythologies as the United States does not have a single shared mythology. And in chapter IV I gave my own predictions of the future based on personal observation. My twofold goal of this collection was to one, demonstrate that Hispanic writers are capable of more than lamenting their shared past. And two, to challenge the notion that anything besides a disenfranchisement narrative is "inauthentic" and renders me a poor writer of Hispanic literature. I believe it is up to the reader to decide whether I have accomplished these goals.

Understanding And Demonstrating The Contribution Of Objects To The Construction Of The Idea Of Future In Science Fiction Films

Toker, Gulen 01 May 2008 (has links) (PDF)
The science fiction cinema is often concerned about future, and presents to its audience possible alternatives for it. Each science fiction film about the future constructs a different idea in the audience&rsquo / s mind and supports a currently existing ideology at the same time. The science fiction genre extrapolates and speculates about future which results in a new world: Aliens, androids or clones become participants of this world, intergalactic federations regulate diplomatic relationships or natural disasters endanger the whole humankind. The indispensable factor in every case is that new objects surround the future. They are extrapolated or speculated as well from the objects of today in order to fit to and satisfy the needs of the future world of the science fiction film. The ideas about the future presented in the film are supported by the material existence of these future objects. This study demonstrates the ideas and ideologies in respect to future in the science fiction cinema and investigates how the future objects contribute to constructing them.

The study on the key factor of effecting the volatility of enterprise value

Pan, Shih-Chi 07 July 2003 (has links)
Nowadays, an enterprise is facing more and more pressure, which leads to its concentration on creation or keeping the shareholder value. However, the disadvantage of traditional financial statements makes an enterprise unable to communicate in a effective way to let investors fully understand the real value of an enterprise. The purposes of reducing the distortion of GAAP accounting system, converting the accounting value into economic value, and becoming the investors¡¦ evaluation index are the attentions of this article in the study based on the EVA¡]Economics Value Added¡^foundation. This research is attempting to understand the real economic status hidden under the volatility of an enterprise value. Making the related research on evaluating the MVA on external managing effects, judging the company value according to current EVA (which is so-called COV ) and predicting the FGV with the growth of a company, is to find out the factors forming the trace of volatility itself. The actual evidence tells that the electronics categorized stocks are in the status of positive relation instead of negative relation. It just shows the transition from PC to communication network, the eventual phenomena of pricking the bubbles of net work in the field of electronic industry, the transfer of overall market trend, and the market performance of losing the favors of investors in non-electronics industry. As for FGV and MVA, it shows the positive relation between different categorized stocks, and it also outstands the situation of inflation and deflation in Taiwan stock market. In the analysis of the research mentioned above, we identify the value volatility traces of an enterprise. As for the key factor which effects the volatility, this research is attempting to explain the key influence on the value volatility of COV, FGV and MVA from the view points on the aspects of macroeconomic, industry information, market static data. The outcome of actual evidence also reveals that explaining capability on COV, FGV, and MVA from the views on macroeconomic aspect can truly reflect the situation of the volatility, and can be very helpful to realize the change trend of an enterprise.
