The thesis is aimed at Gantt charts. Primarily on their use in production processes, such as planning and scheduling. The thesis also includes an introduction, explaining what are the Gantt charts, for what are using and what is their principle. The thesis also includes analysis and software possibilities for implementing Gantt charts with using OOP. Programmatic and theoretical analysis of the various functions that are characteristic of Gantt charts, including their internal logic and program implementation. These programmed characteristic functions of Gantt charts were composed in the form of a DLL library, which provides a simple implementation of Gantt charts. By using this library is realized the software for production management. The work is included on the DVD, except the DLL itself software with detailed descriptions of each part of the source code.

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to identify, design and apply a method for operational production planning. The purpose of the method is that it takes into account the respective demand patterns of the articles, which determines the choice of calculation model and that the method also takes into account the production capacity limitation set. The result can be applied as a basis for decision-making for small and medium-sized manufacturing companies that are facing an expansion. Objective: The following research question was the main objective of this study.How would an appropriate operational planning method be shaped according to the specific characteristics of the products and their diverse demand patterns in small and medium-sized manufacturing companies with capacity limiters? Method: The study is a qualitative one-case study with quantitative elements. The empirical data used in the study was collected through unstructured and semi-structured interviews where the snowball effect has been applied and also observations have been performed. Results: The study has enabled a higher degree of utilization of the capacity limitation set, by developing standardized block sizes. The first step was to identify demand patterns into which the studied articles could be categorized. The demand pattern was applied in order to be able to apply the correct calculation model to the correct article. The calculation model was then standardized by applying PoT to be able to obtain standardized block sizes. The method was illustrated in a Gantt chart to demonstrate its usefulness. / Syfte: Studiens syfte är att identifiera, utforma och applicera en metod för operativ produktionsplanering. Ändamålet med metoden är att den tar hänsyn till artiklarnas respektive efterfrågemönster vilket avgör valet av beräkningsmodell samt att metoden tar även hänsyn till produktionens kapacitetsbegränsning ställare. Resultatet kan appliceras som beslutsunderlag för små samt medelstora tillverkande företag som står inför en expansion. Forskningsfråga: Följande forskningsfråga var objektet för denna studie. Hur skulle en lämplig operativ planering formas utefter artiklarnas specifika egenskaper och deras olikartade efterfrågemönster hos små och medelstora tillverkande företag med kapacitetsbegränsningen ställare? Metod: Studien är en kvalitativ en-fallstudie med kvantitativa inslag. Den empiriska data som använts i studie än insamlad genom ostrukturerade samt semistrukturerade intervjuer där snöbollseffekten tillämpats och även observationer har utförts. Resultat: Studien har möjliggjort en högre utnyttjandegrad av kapacitetsbegränsningen ställare, genom att framta standardiserade blockstorlekar. Första steget var att identifiera efterfrågemönster som de studerade artiklarna kunnat kategoriseras in i. Efterfrågemönstret har tillämpats för att kunna använda rätt beräkningsmodell på rätt artikel. Beräkningsmodellen standardiserades därefter genom tillämpning av PoT för att kunna erhålla standardiserade blockstorlekar. Metoden illustrerades i ett Gantt-schema för att påvisa dess användbarhet.

The thesis discusses the possibilities of project management and analysis and it is focused on solving project analysis using the network analysis. The text describes chosen used methods of analysis. This text together with other findings in the theoretical part is used in the solution of practice part. The aim of this thesis was to create a functional Microsoft Project-based add-in of Microsoft Excel to ensure planning and management of simple projects. This created add-in can manage the project, manage project resources, allocate these resources to individual project activities and carry out simple analysis of the project, including a Gantt chart.

Αυτή η εργασία διαπραγματεύεται τη θεωρία της διοίκησης έργου, από μια τεχνική κυρίως οπτική, εξού και το «μια αλγοριθμική προσέγγιση» του τίτλου. Για το σκοπό αυτό, η εργασία ξεκινάει με μια εισαγωγή στην έννοια του έργου, η οποία ακολουθείται από την ανάλυση των βασικών στοιχείων της θεωρίας της διοίκησης έργου και τους ορισμούς των σχετικών όρων και λειτουργιών που εμπλέκονται, στο Κεφάλαιο 1. Στο Κεφάλαιο 2, αναλύεται ο Χρονικός Προγραμματισμός του έργου, που αποτελεί το σκελετό για όλη τη διαδικασία της διοίκησης ενός έργου. Παρουσιάζονται αναλυτικά οι βασικές τεχνικές της δικτυωτής απεικόνισης ενός έργου και οι βασισμένες σε αυτό τεχνικές χρονικού προγραμματισμού Κρίσιμου Μονοπατιού (Critical Path Method – CPM) και η στοχαστική τεχνική PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique). Στην ίδια κατηγορία ανήκει και η σχετικά νέα τεχνική της Κρίσιμης Αλυσίδας (Critical Chain Method), που παρουσιάζει σημαντικές καινοτομίες και αναπτύσσεται διεξοδικά. Στο κεφάλαιο 3 μεταβαίνουμε από την απλουστευτική περίπτωση των εργασιών με μόνο χαρακτηριστικό τους χρόνους εκτέλεσής τους στην πιο ρεαλιστική περίπτωση όπου απαιτούν τη χρήση κάποιων πόρων για την εκτέλεσή τους. Παρουσιάζεται η έννοια των πόρων και το πώς οι περιορισμοί στη χρονική ή/και ποσοτική διαθεσιμότητά τους επηρεάζει το χρονικό προγραμματισμό. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεται στο πρόβλημα του χρονικού προγραμματισμού με περιορισμένους πόρους και εκτενής ανάλυση γίνεται στις επιστημονικές τεχνικές που υπάρχουν και είναι δόκιμες για την αντιμετώπιση του προβλήματος, που είναι πολύ δύσκολο να λυθεί με βέλτιστο τρόπο. Το κεφάλαιο 4 ασχολείται με το πρακτικότερο θέμα των ειδικών για τη διοίκηση έργου προγραμμάτων λογισμικού που κυκλοφορούν. Γίνεται συσχέτιση των λειτουργιών που πρέπει να διαθέτουν με τις αντίστοιχες λειτουργίες που επιτελούνται κατά τις διάφορες φάσεις του κύκλου ζωής ενός έργου και παρουσιάζονται με κριτική άποψη τα πιο διαδεδομένα προγράμματα αυτής της κατηγορίας. Τέλος, στο κεφάλαιο 5 παρουσιάζεται ένα παράδειγμα εταιρίας που οι ανάγκες του έκαναν απαραίτητη την εφαρμογή των αρχών και τεχνικών της διοίκησης έργου. Πρόκειται για την ΕΡΓΟΣΕ Α.Ε., την θυγατρική εταιρία του ΟΣΕ που έχει αναλάβει να διεκπεραιώνει το κατασκευαστικό έργο που αφορά το σιδηροδρομικό δίκτυο και στο τελικό αυτό κεφάλαιο βλέπουμε πως έχει δομήσει ένα ολοκληρωμένο μηχανογραφικό σύστημα βασισμένο σε ένα πρόγραμμα διοίκησης έργου. / The present diploma thesis is dealing with the theory of project management, under a mostly technical perspective- which justifies the “an algorithmic approach” end of this thesis’ title. For this purpose, this thesis begins with an introduction to the notion of “project”, which is followed by an analysis of the fundamental elements of the project management theory and the definitions of the relevant terms and functions involved, in Chapter 1. In Chapter 2, project scheduling is being analyzed. Project scheduling is the framework for the entire function of project management. Extensive analysis of the basic techniques of network representation and the techniques of time scheduling that are based on it (namely, Critical Path Method – CPM, and Program Evaluation and Review Technique – PERT) are presented. To the same category of scheduling techniques belongs the Critical Chain Method as well, therefore it is thoroughly analyzed in this chapter. In Chapter 3, we move from the simplified case of the project tasks which are characterized only by the time they need so as to complete, to the more realistic case of tasks needing various resources. The notion of resources and the way their possible time/quantity availability constraints affect project scheduling are presented. Special emphasis is laid on the resource constrained project scheduling problem, which is a very hard problem to solve in an optimal way, and extensive analysis of the suitable scientific techniques available is offered. Chapter 4 deals with the more practical issue of the project management software. A correlation of the necessary functions of the software programs to the respective ones of the project life cycle is made, and some of the most popular software programs are presented under a critical perspective. Finally, Chapter 5 illustrates the example of a company whose needs make the application of project management principles and techniques necessary. This company is ERGOSE S.A., which is the affiliated company of the mother organization OSE (the Greek rail organization) and has undertaken the construction task of Greek railroads. In this final chapter the company’s integrated information system that is based on a project management software program is presented.

New technologies arise everyday, but which ones are the best for your project? How do you store data in a safe manner that complies with the new European GDPR law? How do you plan, develop and complete a project? These are but a few formulations of questions that the study in this report will cover.  The report is based around a business idea and vision for a company that offers advanced products built with modern technologies. The first step for the development of this company is to create a prototyp of its first product, a web platform. The prototyp will be formed after a projectplan with meetings with a supervisor and with the use of professional tools like Gantt, WBS and Trello. First and foremost a study will be done behind the theory of different frameworks and technologies but also a reasearch about GDPR and data security. The design phase will be the first part in shaping the projekt where wireframes, sitemap and ERdiagram have been created and documented. The choice of frameworks, mainly Vue, Express and MongoDB and the data security standards JWT and Oauth will be explained and used in the prototype as a base for the technical aspects of the project. Lastly the results och the finished prototype will be presented together with a discussion regarding problems that arose during the project, improvments that needs to be done and what the future holds for the complete web platform. / Nya tekniker växer i rasande fart, men vilka är bäst för ens projekt? Hur lagrar man data på ett säkert sätt som följer den nya europeiska GDPR lagen? Hur planerar, utvecklar och genomför man ett projekt? Dessa är några få frågeställningar som undersökningen i denna rapport tar tittar närmare på.  Rapporten grundar sig på en affärsidé och vision för ett företag som erbjuder avancerade produkter skapade med moderna webbteknologier. Det första steget för företagets utveckling är att skapa en prototyp av den första produkten, en webbplattform. Prototypen kommer att utvecklas efter en projektplan med handledningsmöten och användning av professionella verktyg som Gantt, WBS och Trello. Först och främst studeras teorin bakom om olika ramverk och tekniker men även en undersökning om GDPR och datasäkerhet. Designfasen kommer sedan vara det första momentet för projektets utformning där bland annat wireframes, sitemap och ERdiagram har skapats och dokumenterats. Valet av ramverk, främst Vue, Express och MongoDB samt datasäkerhetsstandarna JWT och Oauth kommer att förklaras och användas i prototypen som grund för projektets tekniska skapande.  Slutligen presenteras resultatet av den färdiga prototypen tillsammans med en diskussion över problem som uppstod under projektets gång, förbättringar som behöver göras och vilka framtidsplaner som finns för den fullständiga webbplattformen.

The aim of this master thesis is to develop an application for creating calculations and offers to potential customers and to develop an application for managing Gantt charts. These applications will be in future used for implementation to the information system of Wedding in Prague Inc. company. Along with the development of applications author of this thesis aims to design, create and implement a fully functional database to support the applications. Before the development of the applications the revision of the submitters demands and the revision of previously designed interface are made. In the end of this work the user testing is done to confirm the correctness of the functionality of applications. The submitter, Wedding in Prague Inc., runs business in the destination event management branch the applications are adjusted to this type of business branch and its requirements. Contribution of this thesis is the creation of mentioned applications and their preparation for its future implementation into information system of the company.

The subject and main goal of the diploma thesis is the application of the project management methodology at VAGONKA-INTERIORS s.r.o. Project management tools are applied in a project focused on the development and production of new technology. The thesis is focused on the practical use of outputs and work with MS Project software. The work will serve as a basis for the implementation of the project.

Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou současné situace ve firmě Sportobchod.cz s.r.o a aplikací teoretických znalostí projektového řízení, nástrojů a metod k návrhu projektu, který má za cíl usnadnit proces budování a zapojení své komunity zákazníků na Slovensku. Kromě toho by projekt měl sloužit jako návod pro následující projekty analyzované společnosti. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních částí. První část je zaměřena na představení teorie projektového řízení a vymezení jeho hlavních konceptů. Druhá část je věnována analýze současné situace, která zahrnuje využití různých makroekonomických a mikroekonomických analýz. V poslední části autor navrhuje projekt pomocí metod projektového řízení jako je SMART definice projektových cílů, logický rámec, WBS, RACI Matice, Ganttův diagram a charakterizuje možné přínosy navrhovaného projektu pro analyzovanou společnost.

This Master’s thesis focuses on selection and implementation of information system for company Jungla, s.r.o. The company builds and sells real estate built with wood. The first part of the thesis explores theoretical fundaments, needed to understand the topic. The second part contains previous analyses of the company, results of these analyses lead to decision to implement commission information system. The last part summarizes the requirements, selection, implementation of commission information system, and financial burden and benefits of the project.

The main goal of this work is to make complete project plan of a computer network for an office building of Markagro, s.r.o. company. The project will contain all information necessary to implement new data infrastructure. Plan of its implementation will contains detailed specification of individual activities and their time allocation
