Grafikos ir knygos sintezė. Iliustracijų knyga - "Laiko pasaka" / The Synthesis of Graphic Art and a Book. “The Tale of Time”: The Book of Illustrations

Plieniūtė, Rasa 26 January 2006 (has links)
The length of human life is compared with a book. The closed book shows the end of life. To me a book is the source of inspiration, imagination and intention. Some time after reading a book I get a lot of impulses for my new creations. My book of illustrations ”The Tale of Time” is a book about the everlasting circle of life. My book has no reading function as a normal book. The meaning of my book “The Tale of Time” is expressed visually through my emotions about the temporality of human life. The book also contains poems about various periods of life, my thoughts and a part of me.

The ‘Book of Manson’: Raymond Pettibon and the killing of America

Goodall, Mark D. 29 August 2012 (has links)
no / Raymond Pettibon's work sits uncomfortably in the world of comics or cartoons. Instead of jokes or punch-lines, his work promotes an intense form of narrative and exhibits a unique ‘illustrative-comic style’ (O'Connor, The Believer [online], 1995). His work emerged from and reflects upon underground pop culture (rock music, TV, films), and it is the dark side of humanity that his work explores. Pettibon says that he actually prefers writing to drawing and the importance of ‘texts’ can be seen in Raymond Pettibon: A Reader (1998, Philadelphia Museum of Art), a collection in which the written inspirations for his psycho-graphic style is clear. This paper examines how the disturbing subject of Charles Manson oozes into the consciousness of writers, artists and musicians, using Pettibon's work as a powerful case study of this weird phenomenon. Manson has haunted the art of our time; he typifies the way in which, as Pettibon acknowledges, ‘There are certain figures, without even my meaning to do it, that become subjects’ (O'Connor, The Believer [online], 1995). In his cartoons, Pettibon depicts Charles Manson in a variety of ways. This reflects the various multiple readings of Manson and his story evident since his trial and conviction in the late 1960s. Pettibon's links with the American music underground brought him in contact with Manson as a symbol. The media obsession with celebrity – especially ‘bad’ celebrities – is a powerful force which Pettibon addresses. In 1989, Pettibon even made a low-budget movie about Manson and his followers. It is a fascinating intersection of graphic art, music and murder which this paper opens up.

Drawn from life: Cocreating narrative and graphic vignettes of lived experience with people affected by dementia

Capstick, Andrea, Dennison, Alison, Oyebode, Jan, Healy, Lesley, Surr, Claire A., Parveen, Sahdia, Sass, C., Drury, Michelle 12 August 2021 (has links)
Yes / Background: The growing literature on Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) and dementia identifies specific problems related to the influence involvement has on research outcomes, over-reliance on family members as proxies, and lack of representation of seldom-heard groups. Adaptations to the PPIE process are therefore needed in order to make possible the involvement of a broader spectrum of people living with dementia. Objective: To adapt the PPIE process in order to make participation in co-creation by people living with dementia accessible and meaningful across a spectrum of cognitive abilities. Design: Narrative elicitation, informal conversation, and observation were used to co-create three vignettes based on PPIE group members’ personal experience of dementia services. Each vignette was produced in both narrative and graphic formats. Participants: Nine people living with dementia and five family members. Results: Using enhanced methods and outreach it was possible to adapt the PPIE process so that not only family members and people with milder cognitive difficulties could participate, but also those with more pronounced cognitive problems whose voices are less often heard. Conclusions: Making creative adaptations is vital in PPIE involving people living with dementia if we wish to develop inclusive forms of PPIE practice. This may, however, raise new ethical issues, which are briefly discussed. / National Institute for Health Research. Grant Number: PR-R10-0514-120006

Čibinskaitė, Gitana 16 August 2007 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The quality of a textbook‘s graphic art is related to learning results, because a properly prepared textbook can positively orient the pupil towards the subject studied, can stimulate his curiosity, to increase learning motivation in the case when the child likes the textbook’s artwork, when its text is arranged in a logical, coherent way, when the issues to be emphasized are highlighted by expressive and apparent means. Sbírka vietnamské grafiky 20. století z Náprstkova muzea / Collection of vietnamese graphic art of 20th century from Náprstek Muzeum

Vohradníková, Karolína January 2014 (has links)
Vietnam went through diverse historical development that contributed to the diversity of today's culture and specific craft industry. Vietnamese culture was mostly influenced by China, where we can probably find the origin of folk prints production. Two famous folk prints production workshops gradually developed in northern Vietnam, but many other smaller centers can be found throughout Vietnam. The diversity of folk motives illustrates the richness of traditional vietnamese folk culture. Vietnamese collection from Náprstek Museum started without any approach of systematic collecting, mainly from purchases or gifts of travelers or professionals who reside or traveled to Vietnam for work or research purposes. Within approximately past fifty years collection of vietnamese folk prints has become the most comprehensive part of asian collections from Náprstek Museum.

Krogen Amerika : A 1700s bourgeois house transformation into a graphic studio

Uhlin, Cecilia January 2012 (has links)
